If my son gets kicked off Medicaid and has to be on my health insurance I will pay $1400/month for insurance and I make $21/hour

I got a new job and a raise 😩 looking at their health insurance policy and it is going to DEMOLISH my budget. I thought i would have extra money at the end of the month, but nope.

I am looking at options and seeing what I can do but I was pretty shocked.

The single dad I am crushing on has a dating profile should I 'like' him or wait until we happen to see each other in person by chance? (Small town)

I am a single mom of 1, he is a single dad of 1. We went to high school together but I don't think I am even on his social radar.

We live in a small town so eventually we will see each other in passing again. But also he has a dating profile and it would be faster to get a chance to know him if I approached him on the internet. But I prefer things in person and would get a better feel for if he is interested in person I dont know ahhh

He is a customer at my work, but I do not want to ask for his number or coffee or anything when he is a customer. That leaves running into him at the grocery store or something which doesn't happen as often ya know? He is so kind and handsome but again I am probably not even on his radar

Son's first day of school Monday! I always thought i would have a husband to experience this with

My husband divorced me for his new 10 year younger co-worker girlfriend who wears lingerie as shirts. He was awful and I am better off without him anyways. But

When I planned for a baby I always pictured parenting together. I went to the school open house and filled out paperwork and did school shopping and am arranging how to drop him off before work and how to pick him up when preschool ends at 4:00 and I don't get off work until 5:30. I wanted to be able to make jokes about the goofy parents sitting in front of me and how maybe we should join the parent group and wow the family i always wanted doing this together! Instead it's me alone confused and I didn't realize I was supposed to bring his school supplies to the open house and I didn't know that the drop off parking is going to be so stressful and I might be late for work sometimes and when the school plague hits I will need to leave work because it's just me myself and I.

I am handling things ok now. But things keep popping up where I thought i would have a teammate in life. Like when my son ripped made a huge mess and I just needed someone to hold him for a second while he spread it through the house and i needed to take stuff to the trash outside but couldn't leave him alone and everything just is a little harder sometimes.

My grandma crochets me a potholder every holiday

She makes me a potholder every Valentines, Halloween, birthdays, Christmas... finally decided to display some so that they aren't all in a box!

Also made cobbler and my whole kitchen felt cozy. I live in my great grandparents 106 year old farmhouse. Currently toddler-proof :)

How did you get a fresh start? (Without running away unfortunately haha)

Divorce has made me give up my whole life plan. The plan was a family, husband and two kids. Now I am a single mom of 1. I can't run away because shared custody is easier if we live in the same town, and my parents are here and I need them. Even though i really want to take my son and move far far away.

So far I am looking for a new job - my current job I was here when I got engaged, married, had my baby - so I just want a fresh start with a new group of co-workers.

What other ways did you start fresh?

Totally tanked my first job interview after being a SAHM for two years

Original life plan: 2 kids, go back to full time work when youngest starts preschool

What happened: 1 beautiful kid, followed by 3 miscarriages including a very traumatic one where we had already seen the baby and picked a girls name, followed by husband wanting divorce and saying he "never wanted a family", finding out he had a secret credit card, porn/video game addiction, and girls on the side... we discussed all that before we got married by the way. Together for 9 years and he broke his promises and just... changed his mind?

Anyways my son doesn't start daycare until August so if i get a job before then I will need to scramble to find a babysitter. and I am applying for jobs and today was SO BAD. i know I lost some brain cells due to pregnancy and sleep deprivation. But wow. I kept stuttering, didn't sound confident, lost my train of thought a few times, and the interviewer asked me "Did you just see this job and apply for it...?" Like NO I HAVE EXPERIENCE AND A B.A. IN THIS FEILD I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS JOB.

But then they said I would need to travel within a 4 hour radius, which was not in the position description, and I can't do that. My son needs me.

So anyways instead of my actual career I might need to step down and just find something that still pays ok but works better for me to be a single mom and it's just... this is not what my life was supposed to look like 😭

Had a dream that I was running with the jogging stroller but when I looked down it was a cart from Walmart

Idk it was weird and I don't see enough posts about running with a jogging stroller lol maybe my dream was because sometimes I fight with the stupid front wheel lock haha

Work life balance?

I have been chasing a high paying stressful career and although I was a receptionist a long time ago, and I know it is stressful too (people are rude! And sometimes you're a 1 man show! The backbone of the place!) But I remember the WORK LIFE BALANCE being really good. Like I could just leave work at work and the hours were routine.

How does your work life balance feel to you in your job? I am applying to return to receptionist life.

Started in April with a 16 minute mile. I feel like crying I'm so proud of myself!

I have been trail running in the forest (where there is shade) but discovered our local track was unlocked! Talk about a confidence boost!

My favorite one in town

I finally stopped and added to it today! Usually I browse (it's usually full of murder mysteries and lots of James Patterson) but I added some kids books and passed along some Stephen King.

F/30/5'2" [135 > 120] (4 months) CICO and moving every day

I had my son 2 years ago and am still remembering how to be myself. I finally have the energy now that he is sleeping through the night to prioritize myself. I run 2 - 3 times a week and do dumbells after he goes to bed 3 - 4 times a week. I had a lot of stops and starts but have been consistent the past 4 months.

Before I got pregnant I was a half marathon / distance runner and weighed 105 but that's not realistic for me right now. But it does feel like my body is starting to remember how to move, you know?

I have minimized sugar and bread, and added more protein (i think this helped a lot with the belly bloat?). I have stopped eating all my toddlers leftovers. Those added up fast lol
