Feeling stuck in 150s, how to reach 160s?

My current score right now is a 155. I’m feeling stuck right now.

Common mistakes I make are:

- reading too fast, and not understanding the question and/or passage

-choosing the wrong answer choice out of the two answers left from elimination

I think at this point it’s a mindset thing, but do any of you have tips on how I can improve?

I want to reach a 165 at least.

Reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi Again

Im rereading Homegoing, and its getting me emotional just like when I first read it. It hits even harder for me because I am both Ghanaian and American. I’ve noticed that Yaa Gyasi’s books help me to fill the gap of understanding and knowledge of my family ancestry, given my parents separation.

How did you like this book? Are there other books that give you a similar feeling?

Any experiences with Black ski Weekend/MLK ski weekend?

I wanna go to one of the events next year, but I don’t know what to start.

Should I buy the resort package?

When should I buy my flight tickets?

What gear should I buy?

Is everything sold separately?

How’s the social part? Is it mixed group (of ages)?

Do you vent to your friends about unpleasant things happening in your life?

I recently had a conversation with my friend, where I expressed my frustrations about my home life. Shortly after, they ended the conversation. I don’t usually talk about my home life with friends, as I know it is very chaotic and fear of bringing down the energy of the conversation(or the outlook of myself). However, this friend has made it clear that they’re okay with me venting, but they always seem to end the conversation or don’t have much to say. I feel like their life isn’t as drama-filled as mine(when it comes to their family), so they may not be able to relate or they don’t feel comfortable sharing with me that side of them. Either way I live the conversation feeling like I expressed myself but haven’t gotten much reassurance.

My issue is for me a true friend is someone I can open up about these things to. Being vulnerable is what signals to me that the friendship is growing., So when I don’t feel like I can open up, I just feel like we’re still acquaintances.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I just keep the conversation light?

No One Should Get Married

I don’t like to see couples break up, but this has been the most underwhelming season ever. Compatibility and Unaddressed Trauma have flashed across my brain multiple times. In other words it should be an easy NO.

Monica wants a flashy lifestyle. I didn’t see any indications of Luke not trying to lead or lack of ambition. They just see two different lifestyles and that’s fine. However, Monica should’ve been honest with Luke from the beginning. When Monica said she wanted a destination wedding, Luke’s face turned as if it wasn’t in the budget. She said she’s from LA. I don’t know LA, but she seems to want what she sees around her. That just doesn’t seem like Luke’s personality.

Hayley has not addressed her past trauma, in a healthy way at least. She found Blake, who seems to be pretty nice, but she projects her traumas on him. She talks to him like a worn out mother. Maybe she did have to coach him to be more emotionally aware, but saying “ I built him” is insulting and inappropriate. She’s not ready for marriage. I don’t know about her past, but she seems to be turning into the person she doesn’t want to be in a relationship. Blake was definitely fawning over Ashley in the trial marriage. I could see him being more open emotionally, probably because she was new and his original type.

David and Casey. Idk. They were boring. Red flag 🚩 that he doesn’t allow her to have male friends, but he can like women’s pictures on social media. Red flag 🚩 that he’s not serious about his finances red flag 🚩 that he cannot commit in a 5+ year relationship. He honestly seems like Jebin, just older. He seems immature and I can see Casey turning into his mom, where she takes care of everything behind the scenes. Then, he sits by her like it’s both of them, but it’s really her. Casey has hung on for sense of normalcy and longevity that she hasn’t had before.

sighs

Ashley and Killian. Just NO. I feel like we all agree on them not being a healthy couple. Ashley needs to work on her self esteem and boundaries. Killian needs to rework his thinking about women as just play toys. Killian is a manchild.

The end.

How do I prevent hormonal acne internally?

I’ve been using tretinoin and azelaic acid as prescribed by my dermatologist for over 2 years. How should I go about preventing my acne from the inside? Should I take a blood test or hormone test to determine which vitamins I need to intake more? I just don’t want to have to use tretinoin for life.
