Does anyone else feel the same?

Hello,

I’m 13 weeks post partum now and I can’t describe it but I just feel so ugly and like I don’t look like myself - my face has gained weight which I can understand but I feel like my face features don’t even look like mine anymore - I don’t like or recognise what I see in the mirror at all

I know this is minor in the grand scheme of things but I never had this with my first baby - will I ever look like me again?!

4 month regression?

Hello,

My baby is currently 11 weeks and I finally feel I’m settling down and getting out of the trenches!

However, I’m terrified of all this talk about the 4 month regression as it’s just around the corner for us, does anyone have any positive stories about it? The last few weeks I’ve struggled mentally and I’m just starting to feel better, I’m scared at 4 months I’ll get knocked back again! X

Claiming multiple rewards

Hello,

Just a quick question, I’m going in store tomorrow and have 3 rewards to claim via lush club. If I bought 3 different things and put them through as 3 separate transactions would I be able to claim all 3 rewards on the same day or is that super cheeky of me 😅 x

Help please! 10 week old

Hello,

I’m at a loss of what to do, up to now my baby was in a lovely routine of wake, feed, play, nap and he wouldn’t wake till his next feed was due - I felt like I had this solved and was gaining confidence

Now at 10 weeks he’s changing, his naps last only 30-40 mins and he will not go back down, he then just fusses and cries because he is overtired till his next feed - and going down for a nap is a nightmare and he really fights it now - even going out in the pram won’t send him to sleep which used to work like a charm

I’ve lost my confidence all over again - how do I adapt to this new ‘routine’ or lack of? X

TW infant loss - have I lost my friend?

Hello,

Sorry if this isn’t the right forum - but I wanted people’s opinions.

My best friend since high school (I’m now 36) sadly lost her baby at 4 months old in March last year, as you can imagine she is broken and devastated.

I got pregnant around the same time and my baby is now 10 weeks old, I’ve tried countless times to contact her, offer her support, offer to come round and spend time with her but honestly I don’t think she wants to/is ready due to the fact I was pregnant and now have a baby.

I can understand the reasons why and I don’t take it personally, I can understand the incredibly bad timing and how hard she would find it, if I ever saw her I wouldn’t mention my baby/any of those topics but of course she doesn’t know that.

My question is, how do I navigate this, do I keep offering, do I leave it and give her space, do I accept that due to the circumstances this friendship may have run its course?

X

How did you know it was PPD?

Hello,

My baby is 9 weeks old and I don’t know if I’m struggling with PPD or if I’m just struggling because it’s hard!

How did you know you needed help? I am getting overwhelmed very easily when my baby has fussy days and it makes me cry, I’ve got a really short fuse with my 8 year old son and then struggle with feeling so guilty! I’m also starting to binge eat, impulsively shopping online and housework is just piling up all around me!

I just feel so overwhelmed but I don’t know if I feel depressed :(

So much weight gain!

Hello,

Just thought I’d shout into the obis I am gaining so much weight post partum! I don’t know what it is but I’m just eating so much, either out of boredom or stress or convenience even - not sure what it is but I can’t stop and it’s really impacting my confidence considering i gained weight in pregnancy anyway

Did anyone else have this? There is just no time for exercise either is there! I try to do a daily walk with the pram and I’ve managed a few workouts on YouTube when baby is napping but now he is 8 weeks old he is fighting naps so I don’t get chance for that now either! :(

Newborn bubble has popped?

Hello,

My little boy is 8 weeks old today. He is my second son, my first is 8 years old.

I’m starting to feel a bit fed up already of maternity leave and the days all seeming the same, I know I should feel grateful and I do but I just feel stuck in a rut of wake, feed, change, play, nap, one pram walk a day and cleaning the house. I don’t drive so can’t get out easily and my town doesn’t have much going for it.

My partner was working from home which was good as he would keep me company and we could go out for coffee sometimes on lunch breaks but he starts a new job next week on site 5 days a week and I’m dreading it!

Baby boy is so good too, I shouldn’t complain - how do I cheer myself up through this?

6 week post partum check

Hello,

I have my 6-8 week post partum GP appointment coming up soon - what actually happens? I know they’ll do health checks on baby, does mum get any checks?

Sort of dreading being weighed if I’m honest, I know I’ve been piling on weight post partum which I’m aiming to work on once I’m able to exercise (had c section) also will they ‘sign me off’ for things like exercising or having a bath?

4 week old baby - partner is ill

Hello,

My baby is 4 weeks old and my partner has come down with a fever and feels unwell

I’m worried to let my partner near the baby in case he passes on the illness so that is stressful by itself!

That will also mean me picking up all of the night feeds tonight after caring for him on my own since 4am this morning, all night and then onto tomorrow

I know some people do this solo but I’m not used to it, how do I make sure I look after baby safely if I’m so sleep deprived tonight/tomorrow? X

Overeating?

Hello,

I’m 4 weeks postpartum and I must say I am seriously over eating, I seem to be seeking out snacks full of sugar maybe to keep me going and opting for takeout rather than cooking - I’m worried I’m going to gain weight rather than ‘bounce back’

Is this common? How do I stop myself with this when it’s clearly a way of coping? Xx

Am I being sensitive?

Hello,

I’m 3 weeks post partum and today it’s a Saturday, I had done all the feeds from 5am-4pm and his 4pm feed was coming up

My partner said he needed time to do something else and so couldn’t do the next feed and said ‘I don’t do the day time feeds anyway”

I said straight back ‘It’s the weekend, I’m not on maternity leave today so no, I don’t do all the day feeds on a Saturday!’

I think he realise he had made a mistake with what he said but I’m still fuming about it - am I justified in finding that a kick in the teeth?

Hi All,

I’m due an elective section in a week and the reality is dawning on me, I had an emergency section 8 years ago but that was all a blur, this time will be more more controlled so I’ll be a lot more aware of what’s going on and oddly that is scaring me even more!

Does anyone have any recent positive stories? I think I’m most scared of the spinal and also of not being able to get out of bed to feed and change my baby without help! X
