[ALL] What do people think of LiS2 now?

When it comes down to LiS2, a lot kind of ruined the reputation. It was not a bad game, definitely not, I consider it better than the first game. There is nothing wrong with saying that and there is nothing wrong with saying it's not, but it is definitely not worse than the first game or terrible in general.

With a lot of the hate or unnecessary discourse (like people review bombing for no Max and Chloe, not even seeing the quality, and invalid criticism, which yes most of it is not everybody doing this,) but with most of it gone what do y'all think.

I frequently witness invalid information and misconceptions (to my information), so the first thing I will ask before I get into what it is as a game: I heard people saying that it ruined continuity and threw everything from the first game away, which is just wrong. Maybe the aesthetics and more, but it definitely didn't throw away the first game, especially what it was to its core (basically saying that life is strange the core, not the characters, but the other stuff that makes it what it is) absolutely stayed, and doesn't just ignore the first game either.

I also heard someone say they delayed the episode just to make sure it does fit up with continuity because they know they messed up with the game even though I'm pretty sure that's also false.

Now that's out of the way, we can continue. So I do ask what y'all think about the game... the great parts, and the criticism. Do you think this game probably could have done way better financially if the fans (some to clarify because some people came at me for saying the fan base even though that's what happened) didn't review bomb and people didn't pick up the general consensus/bandwagon to hate it.

I think it always deserved the chance, and it succeeded in being Life is Strange. I understand the criticism of it being different, but it is nowhere close to being a bad game and I thought it could have done better without all the backlash (most being unnecessary) holding it back and I'm surprised it still did good for what against it.

That's all I have here. I also do hope the franchise does get better, I think it's going a bit downward especially with how the games are now. Though, I still think they can come back but I'm skeptical now.

I might just be on the wrong side of Internet, but is this just wrong about LoK?

I don't know if I'm on the wrong side of the internet, but I saw one video in particular about LoK from a while ago. It seems like it still gathers the people who dislike LoK.

But before I start asking and talking, I must ask if most criticism on this show is just either invalid and where do you find the good break downs at?

Anyway let me begin.

(The video is here → https://youtu.be/QhS4a11jZOg?si=A\_js\_mIX9mj1DOq\_)

The video talks about why LoK is "garbage" and the reason behind it. I don't think some of it is valid or maybe out of context. I wasn't able to watch it fully, but I will bring the points down in the text so you don't have to watch it.

They first establish ATLA as an untouchable masterpiece... it's elite but no, and I think they slip up from there immediately. They later in the video talk about Team Avatar for the entirety or at least what they stated, to be copy-pasted clones of the Gaang.

Not to say they also get into how the show's villains are just "spiteful, greedy" and more. Even though I'm pretty sure this isn't true (am on a rewatch so sorry if I'm mistaken) but the they go on to praise Ozai.

There is a few more like: ATLA's episodic format is superior, LoK is a cash-grab or attempt to milk the series (in the comments this was stated, not by creator), LoK has bad pacing, wasting time on pro-bending, and the show has retcons (in the comments as well).

Video doesn't shy away from stating Korra never gets in trouble, no stakes, or what I think they are trying to get out is that: she actually experiences something for once (they refer to her trying to take out poison). They say S3 has brought boring nihilism and the show suffered americanization.

You can watch the video to see for yourself, but what I'm trying to ask here is if they are wrong, being invalid, or not backing up to see the full picture? Is LoK just forever going to be hated for mainly no reason and will people never grow up? I just want to know about what this person is talking about, if it's wrong, and how this fandom acts like?

That's all I have, and yes I'm sorry for probably being the 99th post on this, but sometimes I'm just annoyed with the and I want other people's thoughts.

Edit: added a few more things from the video.

Fandom of this franchise.

I want to understand why a good bit (maybe a loud minority... I don't know) can't accept or enjoy anything after the original show. It isn't that "hey you can't have this criticism" but it gets to a point where it's either valid or invalid.

It's sad to see because this franchise doesn't release bad content as much as people say they do. After the original show I loved LoK but never thought it was the same level as the original show but it was still good even compared to it. My personal ratings are ATLA at 9 to 9.5/10 and TLoK at 7.9/10. Both are good ratings and both are good shows but one is just better than the other.

I also want to understand why people think the original show is this perfect, flawless, and the best show to ever grace the Earth. I can agree it's good, great, awesome, and elite. But it's never going to be flawless and it will never ever hit a point of that. People think the entire show was the best but it really wasn't either. But it's still elite and I will always enjoy it, but I think Book 1 might lack rewatch ability.

When it comes to TLoK, I see valid criticism, but people also act like this is the worst show to ever come out of the franchise with the people labelling it "objectively bad." Sorry to say but it's not bad, and it's still a good show compared to the original. Though, it will never reach the heights of ATLA. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter where I look or if Aang isn't even mentioned, but if you even just have a LoK video that you are seeing or a post. There is a good 99.9% there's going to be some person talking about "But... Aang was a better Avatar," or blah blah. It is annoying and just weird.

It's like sometimes its fandom has the parts where it's either they LOVE everything about it and over hype it, or hate every single thing that doesn't have Aang or isn't related to the original show. And when I talk about those I don't mean "I personally didn't like this," or "I had a little bit of criticism in this area." But I mean straight hate, no reason behind the hate, and just ignorance.

It's sad because people are already making misconceptions about Seven Havens or gobbling the leaks (not the accurate ones) and making their headcanons already, so when the show doesn't provide them with what they want 1:1 they get mad... It just disappointing to see, unfortunate to see, annoying to see, and anything else that is around the same definition of those words or a synonym.

I do enjoy seeing the people out there that can actually give good criticism, don't like everything about the series, or they do like everything with the series with a good valid reason. Across different places though, you're going to stumble upon people that just do too much. And I do want to ask a question (mainly for the people that read through and didn't immediately dislike because that's probably about what most people did) but have you had any experiences like this, is this really common, a loud minority, or just something that has always existed in the fandom and we have to accept it though it is still a bad thing?

I just don't know anymore because it's hard to enjoy content when all you see is slander or praise. Because it's already that I look around and see people just hate stuff for no reason or they say "I want something different," but when they get served to what they asked for... they hate it.

I just really want to understand why the fan base is like this and if it's fortunately not the majority.

Are the comics good?

I want to ask because I haven't gotten into the comics.

I'm not sure if this is just the fandom (sometimes specifically the ATLA fans) but they always say how the comics are way less great than ATLA or just bad.

I just want to know and hear from this area because I might want to try some out to see if it's worth the time.

Edit: I'm talking about LoK comics, but I don't know if ATLA talk is allowed. Just edited this to specify.

Are all the comics bad? (For ATLA not TLOK)

I want to ask because I keep seeing "bad," "horrible," "bad bad,"

Though, I don't know if I even want to because this fandom well... I guess the people that are aware know what I mean.

But anyway I do see that most or some are bad, but I think I can tell exaggeration when I see it because I don't think all can be bad.

So if there are good ones, let me know and why, if there are "bad" ones... tell me why it is hated and if it's just invalid criticism or just the average avatar fan takes, and if they're actually bad why is it?

Twin Avatars... Is it true and can they pull it off.

Avatar: Seven Havens (ASH) looks good in almost all aspects. It has great potential, cool things I have interest in, and... a problem.

The twin avatars. My question is, with these leaks and stuff going on. Are the twin avatars true, and if they are my next section is to ask.

How will they pull this off without messing up the lore or continuity, will it make sense, can actually be good for the story, and how can they utilize this without it being bad?

I have much hope for the series but I'm also skeptical now after realizing that this is most likely a real possibility.

On my rewatch of TLoK

It's been awhile since I watched The Legend of Korra, most of my main thoughts are based on what I watched when I really didn't know the Avatar was, and research.

Though, now I'm on my main rewatch and I can't lie the first three episodes are going well for me. I can see why people don't like Korra (as a character currently) especially near those episodes, but really for me right now on the third episode of Season 1. She's a 7.5/10 character, but I think she needs more time to develop.

Man, I feel like the series is over hated... but right now I see nothing wrong besides a few problems for the character but for me that's pretty small.

I am glad this series doesn't get the worst treatment... At least compared to my other experiences of how a franchise went down because of a fan base. So I am glad this has a fan base and support even with some of the misconceptions out there.

Great show so far and I'm about to continue.
