Checking my cart for an O11 Dynamic Mini V2 Hybrid Loop (Hardtubes up front, Softtubes in the back). Did I miss anything?

Hey everyone,

I'm planning a custom watercooling loop for a Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini V2 and would love a sanity check on my parts list before I order.

The concept: hybrid dual-chamber design

To get the best of both worlds, I'm splitting the loop into two zones:

  • Main chamber (visible through glass): Clean 14mm PETG hardtubing for the CPU block, radiator, and pass-through.
  • Rear chamber (hidden behind the panel): Flexible 10/16mm PVC softtubing connecting to the DDC pump.
  • Pump placement: The DDC pump/res combo sits in the rear chamber, next to the PSU/drive area.
  • The pass-through: A G1/4" female-to-female extender links a 14mm hardtube fitting in front to a 10/16mm softtube fitting in back.

Why hybrid? It keeps the front pristine, absorbs DDC pump vibration, and avoids nasty bends in the cramped rear chamber.

On sourcing: I'm currently planning to order from bykski.de — is there a better option with shipping to Switzerland at reasonable rates? Thanks in advance!

AMD Idle Freeze Bug on Linux

Good afternoon

I have a 2.5-inch SSD and two 3.5-inch HDDs installed in an old Dell Optiplex. Since the server has an SFF form factor, I had to place the HDDs directly in front of the single intake fan. I've been wanting to upgrade the CPU and RAM in my gaming PC for a long time, from a 5600G and 16GB to a 5800X3D and 32GB. So I thought, why not treat myself to the upgrade, use the old CPU and RAM, buy a new motherboard, a better case, more fans, and a power supply, and upgrade my server that way? However, I've watched a lot of server videos by 'WolfgangsChannel' on YouTube, and he always mentions something about an "AMD Idle Freeze Bug on Linux" or something similar when discussing AMD builds.

Now my actual question: What is this "AMD Idle Freeze Bug on Linux"?

Is there anything I can do about it? Are AMD CPUs therefore unsuitable for servers?

Thank you in advance to everyone who has read through this incredibly long text before replying, so I can take the time to look at my problem.

Help me upgrade

Hi everyone, I recently finished building my home server. (It's an old Dell Optiplex SFF.) However, I've noticed that the CPU temperatures are quite high, so I've decided to buy a new case, fans, motherboard, CPU, RAM, and power supply. I was thinking of upgrading my work PC with a 5600G, 16GB DDR4, 550W PSU, and RX 6700, and putting the old parts from my work PC into the server. What should I upgrade to? I don't want to upgrade the graphics card! My budget is a maximum of 750 CHF.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Proton Auth x Snapchat not working

Hi everyone. I decided to switch from "Authy" to "Proton Authenticator" today. Everything went smoothly until I got to Snapchat. I have to copy the code because Snapchat doesn't recognize Proton Auth for some reason. Then I get a 6-digit code, and when I try to paste it, I get a message: "This is an incorrect code!" Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!

What can i do on my own Server?

Hey guys,

I just finished building my own server and installing/configuring Immich, Crafty Controller, and Pi-hole. Do you have any suggestions on what else I can run or do with it?

If it helps, here are the specs:

  • CPU: i7-3770
  • RAM: 12GB DDR3
  • GPU: None (integrated graphics only)
  • OS: ZimaOS

Thanks!
