Bookmarking, social bookmarking, and so on has always excited me. I know, I must have a boring life. But, it's true. Saving URLs and possibly even sharing them seems fundamental to a healthy, more human powered web. It's sad that certain popular bookmarking sites went away over the years. My side project Litter Layer lets you have a private bookmark manager (import/export browser bookmarks too), or flip a switch and make it public (hide certain bookmarks from your public page if you want and customize it with CSS).

I create audio art mixing together synth/keyboard, textures, field recordings, guitar, and drum loops. Sometimes my vocals, although not on this album I'm advertising here.

Much of my music is great for playing in the background as you work. Or in an elevator if you want something more interesting than Muzak.

No AI was used. I started as a singer/songwriter playing acoustic guitar pop/rock/folk music in 2000. In 2019 I started leaning more towards electronic music.

This project is starting from scratch to create a search engine largely built by people. There's a slow semi-automated spider to help build up the search engine, but it also lets people add sites various ways. One way is to click the mushroom (bottom right) and add a bookmark. If the site you bookmark isn't already in the search engine, it'll get added.

It blocks facebook, google, amazon, and a few other mega sites.

Here's what I just had to do to fix my custom hybrid theme after updating to WordPress 7.0. Sharing in case anything helps others.

It's a classic/hybrid theme (not full block/FSE). Quick rundown of what broke and what I did:

Issue: Editor no longer used my theme's font
Fix: Added theme.json + editor CSS so the block editor isn’t flying blind, but stripped root background/padding from theme.json so WP 7’s global styles don’t override my existing style.css layout. Wrapper rules like .post-content { font-size: 1rem } stopped working; WP 7 targets p directly now (I think? Or something like this). Fix was the boring obvious one: .post-content p, .page-content p etc. (In other word's my theme's style.css wasn't specific enough.)

Issue: Despite having the right centering class on the front end, images centered with the block editor were not centered on front end. Fix: same story; nested selectors lost to global styles. Pages use .page-content, not .post-content. Also, logged-in vs logged-out looked different (cache/stylesheet load order), but the HTML was identical. What actually worked: plain .wp-block-image.aligncenter { text-align: center; margin: auto; } basically what core expects anyway but for some reason I needed to add it to my theme's style.css.

TL;DR: Hybrid theme + WP 7 = global styles win unless you match their specificity or target block classes directly. Don’t let theme.json set body-level stuff you already handle in style.css.

Obviously, none of this is a problem if you use a newer full site editing block theme.

Why can’t you debate certain kava concoctions here? It’s important to the kava industry to get certain information out there. No matter how I word my post the auto mod removes it. I think you’ve over moderated this sub. Blocking too many important discussions that affect kava deeply.

I can’t fully explain because I can’t type the words or this won’t post.

I made something for the kava community but I can’t promote it in places like this because that’s against the rules which makes sense. So, I decided to do things the right way. Pay to advertise it.

I submitted a campaign through Reddit Ads.

They rejected it because they said kava is a recreational drug. 😂

I’m trying to appeal and explain to them that in 2025 the U.S. FDA confirmed it’s a “food.” Not a drug. But, I don’t know if the Reddit Ads team will reverse their decision.

I’m finding that loving this plant and drink isn’t easy. Since so many people don’t understand it.
