New PB (245) last week - and the lesson we all know!

I’ve had 244 a few times in league play but cracked it in practice last week!
Now to replicate that in league play! Ugh!

Full disclosure: practice lane was very dry, adjusted my stance 5-6 boards to compensate, went straight to league play and got myself jacked up not thinking about the newly oiled lanes. First game of league was 112 (SMH) - my lowest game in a very long time.
But I sorted myself out and finished with a 189 and 160 in next two games (average is 171), so not bad.

Moral of the story: read and listen to the lanes.

How did you help your kids organize usernames, passwords, recovery emails, and important online accounts before they left for college?

I want to help my college-aged kids create a long-term system for managing passwords, recovery methods, and important online accounts. I’m interested in both security best practices and real-world experiences from families who have gone through this transition.

Web and AI searches lead me to certain password software that can maintain usernames and passwords to log in automatically, but it seems like they are incomplete if it means having separate security questions. And, if you did use those software apps, it seems like you would still want/need a back-up in case there is some hacking or corruption of their software?

For context, both kids and here at home, we have phones, tablets and computers where these various accounts can be accessed.

At home, we use an old-style address book that we've had for 30+ years to log all our accounts (a few years ago, I counted over 250 entries). This works for us, but I don't think it's safe for a young adult in a dorm or apartment and being on the move to classes, etc.

Speaking more broadly, I wouldn't mind modernizing our username/password records management. I can see a point in 15-20 years where it may be a security risk to have that book if we have some in-house care, etc. So, this question is asked for my kids right now, but also how it can be used for average adults?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

REQUEST: Recommended Upgrades/Mods for new F350 As Daily Driver & Towing A Fifth Wheel Camper?

My 2026 F350 is on Ford's build schedule for next week! I'm excited.

It will be a crew cab, SRW, short bed, 4x4, 3:55 axle ratio, 6.7L diesel, XLT Premium, center console, upfitter switches, all-terrain tires, and I'm getting the auxiliary trailer camera to mount to my fifth wheel trailer.

I spec'ed the truck to put best foot forward for towing the fifth wheel, but I don't have the capacity ratings yet for payload.

I currently have an F150 2WD crew cab, so the this truck (super duty, diesel, 4x4) is all new to me.

I plan to get the B&W gooseneck turnover ball system installed as soon as I get the truck to save bed space when not towing.

I've seen various things online about upgrading/swapping components to mitigate against known issues. I'm looking for your feedback on some of this and what you would recommend. As a newbie, it's not clear to me which of these tips are valid for 2026 models versus older super duty trucks.

Some topics I've seen:

  1. 'Disaster kit' or 'DCR' for fuel pump.

  2. upgrade cold side intercooler pipe to metal

  3. Cold air intake pipe

  4. air bags to help with squatting with trailer attached. (My trailer is 11,200 GVRW)

I'm also considering:

A. Having the ceramic coating applied asap

B. Installing clear ceramic film on inside of windshield to help with UV & heat. I'm in Texas.

C. Bed cover (rolling metal), but want to confirm trailer to bedrail clearance as the cover extends about 1" above bedrails.

D. All-weather floormats (looking for feedback on which ones, weathertech seem to be popular, but I've heard others mentioned).

I'm taking a new approach with this truck - trying to get it outfitted/prepped from the start to be done with it and put my best foot forward towing a fifth wheel.

Equally, if you have some other mods/upgrades for convenience, I'd love to hear about those too - as a daily driver and a fifth wheel trailer tow vehicle.

Thanks, in advance, for any and all tips!

Using clear UV film to help with temperature control

We had clear UV film installed in our home’s breakfast area with floor to ceiling windows and it really helps keep the area cooler (in Texas).
It’s not cheap to do.

Does anyone have experience with using it in a trailer?

We have lots of windows (a reason for selecting our unit so I don’t want to install the silver foil and block sunlight), so we want the light coming in but I’m worried about the AC keeping up and cost for electricity at RV park long stays.

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any/all feedback.

Basic Plan - does it include blog post feature?

Hi, I have a few domains with GoDaddy. No hosting yet.
I want to set up a basic landing page with context details, About, etc and also have a blog.
I called in and the rep told me I need the premium package for a blog. I’m not using e-commerce or marketing tools, etc. just a basic site with blog.
Is the rep correct that the Basic plan can’t do that? Seems odd.
Thanks,

Loving my watch band collection to change things up and match clothes for the day

Anyone else have a collection of bands to swap out to match your clothes that day?

Cheaper than having a collection of watches!
The colorful ones are used on gym days, 😁

I think I got them off Amazon, but don’t recall. It’s been a while.
Have a good weekend!

Are Keypad Door locks worth it?

So, I'd seen the keypad door locks on RV's and asked for one for our new 5th wheel. They installed the one shown in the photos and it clashes with the door handrail.

We are looking for other options for door handles that are flush (like standard door lock/handles).

Question to you all: Are these worth it? I'm asking b/c I thought this would be great if I forgot my keys or something, but this lock doesn't work as I assumed. If you lock the lock with the key, the keypad doesn't unlock the door. Am I missing something? Is this how all these function?

Do any of you have experiences with other models that you like? if so, which ones? ones that also allow the handrail to fully close for travel, too.

Thank you for any feedback/recommendations.

Upgrades/Tweaks for your new 5th wheel to enhance your daily experience and comfort?

We just bought a new fifth wheel. It's Jayco 29RLC. Still waiting for the new truck to arrive, so taking the opportunity to think about and do some outfitting/upgrades/tweaks to make it a bit 'nicer' as you might find in a Brinkley (within reason).

Our last two bumper pulls were viewed with the strategy of 'mobile tents' and the gear was the hand-me-downs from the house (bedding, towels, kitchen gear, etc.) and layout was functional, but cramped. We are going more to RV resorts now instead of state and national parks.

The new fifth wheel is viewed differently. With a separate bedroom and slides on both sides, it's more a living space that we plan to use and splurge a bit to make things 'nice', rather than just making do. It's about making it feel more like an extension of our home. My wife is already talking about the bedding, rugs and throw cushions.

I can see us doing mod's for kitchen outfitting, basement, bathroom, living area, bedroom.

So, I'm curious what you have done to personalize and upgrade your trailer (or motorhome) to be a bit nicer. I know nice means different things to different folks, so no ideas are bad ones. Having had two previous campers, I have ideas, but I'm wondering if I have some blindspots in my thinking and that there are things I wouldn't think of, but others do.

Thanks, in advance, for any and all recommendations.

(Side note: safety upgrades - like replacing tires - is a separate post I intend to do at a later date. I'm just asking about using/living-in-for-weekends/functional aspects as this time. Thank you.)

Just home from Houston Grand Opera’s Messiah and my wife and I still don’t know how we feel about it.
Words escape us, maybe abstract, interpretive.
We liked the music, still not sure about the visuals.
Whoa.

Edit/update: 7:30pm. Home from Goode Co Cantina and 2-1/2 margaritas each to soften the trauma - and we are glad to see others also felt awkward about it!

Excited for our new upgrade.

29RLC Eagle HT.

This is our 3rd trailer and first fifth wheel.

Ordered the new truck to pull it, still waiting on that.

Looking forward to outfitting it and using this Fall for football season and then traveling in the spring!

Expect more posts here with questions as I explore options to organize and set it up.
