To be up front, I’m a White Sox fan (I’m from Cedar Rapids and grew up watching Eric Davis, Paul O’Neill, Trevor Hoffman, and Reggie Sanders come through with the CR Reds, and rooted for Cincy in the ‘90 World Series). I’ve read all these pieces that say we should deal for Singer as our last in the starting rotation. We are loaded with infield talent in the minors, but what’s the situation with your club? The finals 1990-2014 were all pretty bland by comparison, and the other three goal performance was also France in 1998. And they do it without the constant diving and whining.

They took down my post literally just tracking MLS goal scorers, meanwhile they leave up an article about a USL Stadium and Pochettino talking about the press. Makes this place a breath of fresh air. Chicago Hounds are in the final, and so I get to enjoy my favorite two passions in one night: rugby and punk rock. The whole evening of pre-game activities looks awesome as well. And it’s not often you get to see Celtic Punk on ESPN2.
I’m absolutely pumped. I’ve always had my feet in two worlds as a former punk and a “jock”. But there’s a larger crossover in the rugby community and punk rock than other team sports. Many of my other former teammates, now coaches like me, have loved punk. Dropkick Murphys were the last final’s postgame show, but I’d seen them live recently. I haven’t seen Ff56 in a long time and am geeked. Especially with Chicago Hounds being in the final, and the band getting some exposure on ESPN2.
Chicago Hounds tailgates are epic, and it’s as easy get to from out of town as Hammond! California Legion, with former Hound and former regular Patriots linebacker Cassh Maluia, beat Seattle in the other semifinal last night.
Hounds games/tailgating out in Bridgeview is a BLAST, and it’s had an ‘85 Bears feel about this squad. I am really hoping for a big win because next Sunday will be LIT since SeatGeek is also hosting the final. The Hounds are trying to become the first undefeated team in MLR history, and are loaded with international talent:
-FIVE US National Team members in the starting line-up that recently qualified for the Rugby World Cup.
-Three Canada NT members that also qualified (beating the US for the North American spot, before the US won the Pacific play-in game)
-Last year’s MLR ROTY from Fort Wayne and IU, Peyton Wall.
-Former England international at Guinness Six Nations, former English Premiership champion, Ollie Devoto.
-Chile’s all-time leading scorer and World Cup veteran Santiago Videla comes off the bench.
