Bios like this are just baffling and honestly a turnoff. Do people really expect to find a partner with such pessimism?

I made the ravioli recipe that was posted here the other day. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Last night I made a pizza. I was pretty tired and went to bed soon after without cleaning it. These photos are from today after cleaning. Did the tomato sauce do some damage? Reseason completely or oil and go?

How to make cast iron pizza bowls. 1: F*ck up your pizza. 2: Roll with it and just put it in a bowl.

Streaming services with awful UIs

Netflix, as expensive as they are, has the smoothest UI out there. It never lags and always gives me exactly what I want.

HBO MAX, Amazon Prime, and Paramount+ all suck dick. When they work, they lag severely causing a lot of misclicks. The way they fast-forward (seriously, 1 second and then 10 seconds, or 3-10-30 seconds…wtf is that?!) is just an atrocity. I’m sure there’s more.

One more thing: why do I need to watch the full credits before you take it off my “continue watching” list??!

Anyway, just a small rant.

Those people who solicit outside of Walmart’s doors

Idk if it’s only outside of Walmart, but that’s where I see them in my area.

They set up a canopy with a table underneath right at the doors, and when you try to walk in or out they hit you with the, “hey, how’s it goin? You have a minute to talk about our ministry?”

I tell them no and keep walking, so ultimately it’s nothing that going to derail my day.

Then they say, “ok, I’ll pray for you. Have a blessed day!”

As if them pestering me on my way in wasn’t enough, that part gets under my skin. I wish they would just stop.

And it’s not always about religion. I do find that to be particularly irksome, but that’s usually what it is. Keep your blessing to yourself and “spread the word” to someone who approaches you. Let me get my milk without trying to dodge you.

I have an idea for a script, but not sure how to execute it.

I’ve been mulling over a suspenseful mystery horror/haunting script. By the end, I want the audience to have an idea of what happened, but not any concrete answers. I want them to wonder and pontificate.

My question is, can this be done without frustrating the audience?

YouTubers, please stop doing this.

Please, for the love of all things holy, PLEASE STOP PUTTING YOUR END SCREEN/NEXT VIDEO CARS ON TOP OF THE THING I JUST SPENT 30 MINUTES WATCHING YOU BUILD!!

So many channels do this and I can’t fully take in what you’ve just made. You spent probably a week in real time making an extremely detailed diorama, or even longer if you’re doing something like woodworking, and you take the time to record it and edit it together only to hide half of it behind giant promotions for your other videos (in which you do the same thing).

Just add 10 seconds to the end of your video and put the cards there, not covering your finished project (which was really awesome and kept my attention for the entire time). I promise, I want to support you and I will click another video. You don’t need to rush me.

For reference, check out:

BOYLIE HOBBY TIME

He knows how to showcase his art (it’s not difficult at all). I believe he uses the cards and even covers his projects with them, but that’s AFTER fully showing the audience his work.

Noob question: can I plug a microwave and a refrigerator into the same outlet?

My gut says NO. My microwave is 1000w, so what’s that? Like 8 amps? I’m not sure what the draw from my fridge is. I’ll check when I get home from work.

I rent an apartment the seems like it was built in the 70s at the latest, but very possibly before that. It is right next to a closed down Air Force base.

Anyway, I am certain (without looking) that the circuit for the fridge’s outlet is only 15 amps. I can verify later.

So, yeah my gut says NO, but I want to ask because if I could move my microwave to that side of the kitchen it would save me a lot of trouble.

What say you?

I am at the movie theater for the first time in 4 years. It’s different.

Context: I moved back to my hometown area recently after being away for 15 years. I am from the midwest and there is a certain type of people here. The down-home type. Well, there used to be.

Anyway, the last three movies I saw in theaters were Star Wars EP 9, Top Gun: Maverick, and Jurassic World Dominion.

Those last two were in little theaters that cost $7 for a ticket and were down the street from my house. I saw Star Wars in an AMC and was just a nice theater. It was an 11pm showing so it was sparsely occupied and a good (enough) experience.

BUT NOW: today I am in an AMC in my down-home hometown. This place wasn’t here when I left. There was a 13-screen theater but it’s apparently been torn down.

Anyway, I must not have realized how much has changed. So I bought my ticket online. That’s different, but not even a big deal. What threw me off was when I got to the theater there was no one near the from door like there used to be. There were just ropes guiding me to the concession counter. Apparently that’s where they scan the QR code. Point is, a sign or something would have been nice. Yes, I (now) know, it’s been long enough that signs are not really necessary. But I don’t go to the movies very often.

Anyway, I got past that rather quickly. But while I was at the concession counter the cashier literally just wanted to shuffle me through. She didn’t ask if I wanted a drink or something. She just scanned my code and handed me the ticket and said flatly, “in theater one down that hall.” She didn’t even look at me.

So I came into the auditorium and there were still people cleaning it. It was 5:54pm and my movie start time was 6:00pm. At least they were cleaning it, and I was glad they were. But I just found it odd. It’s a Saturday night and the entire building is relatively empty. It doesn’t seem like they would be behind in their schedule. But whatever, a clean theater. So far I was the only patron here. Fine with me.

At some point I decided I wanted some popcorn and a drink so I went back out and got them. When I came back in it was past 6pm. I looked online at my reservation and there is a disclaimer that said “movies start 20 minutes after the posted time,” or something like that. I saw that when I bought my ticket but I thought that meant there would be 20 minutes of previews. That’s what it has always meant. But no one had to make that disclaimer up front. We all just knew it.

Apparently, they must have gotten too many complaints because now they have to make a disclaimer.

But whatever; that is not the issue. The issue is that it is now 6:21pm and the show hasn’t started; not even the previews. What the hell? Is hey meant that the lights will stay on until 20 minutes past the posted time and then they will start rolling the ads?! The fuck is that?

Oh, and BTW, I’m here seeing Mortal Kombat II. There are now people here with babies and a whole blended family with a bunch of 6 years-olds. The hell is that? I hope they can at least keep quiet and not shriek through the whole thing.

Anyway, I’m done yelling at the clouds. The pre-preview ads have started (at 6:24pm).

Those super thin paper towels in most public restrooms

Why? Why do they buy the thinnest ones and then set the machines to dispense what amounts to a quarter of a paper towel?

They think it saves them money , but it costs them more because I (and most people) will just keep dispensing them until our hands are dry, and in doing that we use MORE material than if you’d just buy some decent paper towels!!
