When was the shift from this subreddit being neutral to becoming the fan sub that it is now?

I could've swore five months ago it was neutral and you could actually say things about katseye that were actually quite negative without being shamed for it. Now it is kinda just a parasocial fan sub with nuanced opinions where negative ones often get shamed but when did the shift happen? Maybe iconic by mistake era idk but there was a shift.

Do you think that if Katseye had debuted with Gnarly and Beautiful Chaos instead of the SIS EP that the discussions and controversial opinions surrounding them now would be very different?

I mean who knows if Gnarly would have become the viral hit it did. Because the fact it came right after SIS obviously made it even more polarizing for fans than it was for those who maybe didn't experience the SIS era but at the same time would all the talk we see now about almost EVERYTHING be different? I think the patterns to many going from a more subtle concept like SIS to the much different much more intense gnarly show red flags to some especially when it comes to oversexualization, the marketing but what if SIS never happened would people just be like "okay this was always the group?" There'd be nothing to look back on and be so nostalgic about.

Little rant about forums

I was on a kpop forum (I will NOT say which one and tbh it was more of a thread place not really a forum) for about a good ten months. It was my hobby I put a lot of work into it but it was mainly for fun. I made many forums until the beginning of July which is when I woke up to basically all ten of the forums I made being completely removed as well as me being BANNED. I was confused so I messaged the adm1n that did it and they messaged me back with this Grok generated paragraph not about how sorry they were but that it was my fault because my posts violated copyright. They then told me that there was now a rule since JUNE of this year that posts which violate copyright will be removed. I said I understood but here's where I LOST IT.

I asked to be unbanned and the admin basically sent back a message that was just like "fuck you and fuck your forums too". They told me I won't be unbanned because I violated the copyright rule ten times and therefore have ten penalties and won't be unbanned..the rule that didn't exist until June. They then told me that they always had the rule but only recently put it in the rules sidebar. I have spoken to adm1ns and they don't gaf basically. I don't know if it's because there's so many unsympathetic k-netizens on the forum but this was just very frustrating and dismissive. I have moved on though.

Manon and Sophia hiatus reason exposed as head lice. The rest of the girls have also caught it now except for Lara, leaving her as the only remaining Katseye member without head lice.

"Meet my GRLS" by Tuide was annoying.

Listen, I'm all for repetitions in k-pop. I am here for it. I love a catchy repetitive stuck in my head ear worm but unfortunately...that song was just annoying. I know a lot of people liked it but I didn't really like it. I thought it was abysmal. The instrumental sounds like elevator music and the lyrics were repetitive in a way where it was just really annoying. A good example of repeating the same thing constantly in k-pop is Gashina by Sunmi, that song does that it in a way where it just makes you want to get up and dance , GRLS makes me want to get up and turn it off.

Hootie Frutti

This is obviously the next single so mods please don't remove. My thoughts on this song is that I like the Brazilian funk beat and I think this is a very trendy song that to me sounds like it will be a hit. I know people can say what they want but to me it's not even that bad? I feel like this song is a massive bop idc what anyone says (sorry not sorry).

Proposal for NO Wild Hearts documentary megathread until AFTER it is needed due to repetitiveness.

There'll be a lot to discuss and I know y'all love your megathreads but I feel like there could be a lot of discussions that will be different and won't just fit under one megathread.

Manon met and took a picture with a fan at a pet store.

She was glowing. I hope this wasn't already posted. It isn't really pertaining to her hiatus just wanted to share cause i thought this was cute.

These lyrics from 'Mean Girls' as expected remain timeless a year later.

God bless even the mean girls

Some of you guys i'm noticing aren't understanding the concept of 'WILD' or choosing not to understand it on purpose.

The EP is called 'WILD'. The outfits are gonna be very odd, eccentric, fun and creative. They aren't meant to really be good, it's meant to be all over the place. This is just a clarification and not meant to be rude but I have seen comments that I think need to understand this!

Who would Katseye be if they were your top six in Dream academy?

Been seeing these videos everywhere and thought it would be cool to ask and see what y'all come up with me. Don't feel bad because this is obviously in hypotheticals. We love our current girls.

It's the iconic 'Touch''s two year anniversary today so here's a throwback to one of my favorite music shows ever from the group's early days!

The all white looks were so simple yet so perfect and so elegant. Forever a banger.

After hearing the snippett of Animal i think it's safe to say it's BB HOT 100 NUMBER ONE GLOBAL HIT material.

Y'all gonna laugh at me but watch when it happens. Watch. The production is just IT! THE vocals even in that snippet DEVOURED. this is gonna be even bigger than Gabriela, this song will be HUGE. If you don't agree then okay but you'll be proven WRONG.

EDIT-::: uhm so...actually I think I take it back, but it will do well on radio and probably be a top ten hit? I was expecting so much more but it's giving b-side throwaway.

In honor of Selena Gomez's birthday. A throwback to Lara's incredible cover of 'Come & Get It'.

Lara was only around 8 years old! I think this was late 2013.

People miss Manon also because of her personality not just that she was beautiful

She was funny, she got along with everyone, she never caused drama, she was kindhearted. I think that you can of course be good looking and still have that bland personality whereas Manon doesn't, she really has a great personality and Katseye was one of many groups to showcase their personalities so often and it worked in their favor and I think that is also a big reason why people miss Manon.

The overreaction to the music and group's identity is frustrating.

I am not gonna lie it does give me second hand embarrassment to see people crash out so much over what has been only 3 songs... like it's actually concerning. This group barely has any music. I feel like people are overreacting over a group that is clearly not sticking to an exact concept, they could go back to debut era concept any moment who knows. I don't know I just think it's a huge overreaction over three songs which we all lnow what songs and tbf pinky up wasn't even anything like gnarly or internet girl imo but whatever. The group's indentity is figuring itself out on what it wants to be but it doesn't have any established sound yet. There's no set concept and people need to realize that this group can change at any moment.
