This is an idea that’s been brewing in my head since joining the sub.

To give some background on myself, I’ve been in the vocaloid community proper for 3 years as a creator, but much longer as a casual fan.

I’ve been involved in similar group collaborations and albums via different subs (outside the vocal synth community) and I have a feel on how I’d like to organize this one. This will be done mostly through a Discord Server.

However I’d like to center this collaboration project around three key points.

1. I’d like to have the project be primarily community driven.

People who are interested may submit whatever song they would like (featuring with Teto as a main feature) and what songs appear in the final product will be determined by community vote.

In addition to that, I’d like to provide the a space for others in the community to connect and collaborate on a single song.

2. I want this collaboration project to rely less on visual aesthetics and more on musical quality.

Of course the project as a whole will eventually have its own dedicated art direction and design. But the songs themselves will be united under one image as if they were on an actual album.

The aesthetics should have no bearing on the songs and vice versa other than being Teto focused. In addition to that, the songs submitted and included will not have the x-factor of a single fancy video or cover art swaying people’s opinions on the music during the voting process or after release.

This is to allow people who make good songs but have little to no experience in illustration or animation to shine.

3. I want to focus on showcasing a variety of songs/genres featuring Teto.

I want to use this as an opportunity for others who have a more “unconventional sound” (as far as the V Synth community is concerned) to shine.

As such, I would like to dedicate one part of the project/placements to those traditional vocaloid-type songs (stuff like Mezmerizer and Machine Love) and another part for more alternative material. A song can be submitted for either/both category but can only ultimately chosen for one.

This ratio can change based on the amount of submissions or user input. Ideally I’d like to keep the project at 12 tracks minimum. But this can also change with the amount of popular submissions.

This will likely be a very contentious point so I’m willing to hear people’s input on how to modify it. Though I’m dead set on not having the project be dominated by one general sound. Maybe we can split hairs more and have even smaller selections dedicated to specific genres. But the general point of encouraging more sonic diversity still stands. Maybe I could’ve worded this part better idk.

I have a more concrete set of rules, guidelines, and logistics elsewhere/in the works but this is just a general pitch for anyone who might be interested in what I’ve laid out here.

If there’s ample (or too little) interest or if this gets any sub mod support I will open the server so people can join freely. Otherwise it will remain invite only for the time being.

If the mods of the sub are cool with this, I’d like to work with you lot more if this seems promising. Otherwise I’m fine running this on my own with other volunteers.

I will also be accepting people who are interested in moderation/organization, art design, or just watching/participating in general chat in addition to those contributing musically.

I’m looking forward to working with anyone interested and what kind of music would come out of this. 🇳🇴🥖

Been trying to focus more on Doom Metal, Post-Hardcore, Drum and Bass, or any Prog Metal. But any other recs/opinions are welcome.

If I had to describe this, I’d say it’s like Evil Magnet but stretched across 6 songs. Teto is the main singer for the first 3 songs.

Been listening to a lot of Tool and wanted to make something that sounded like that.
