I love getting in contact with other people and seeing what keeps them busy in their professional life. I avoided LinkedIn for many years, as I had my prejudices about it, but now I joined the party I absolutely love it. To me, LinkedIn is a portfolio website. And I love seeing the projects that people are working on.

Of course the platform is only as good as the people you follow.

Anyone else that can't really relate to the negativity on here?

As many of you, I saw this post. After seeing this post, I'm questioning a design for a client of mine. It's a consultancy / law related website, and after doing some research I noticed that a lot of consultancy / law firms use this colour as it provides a sense of 'trust'. White is empty, but this colour is more like 'paper' which fits law firms. I used this colour for my website due to these reasons, without realising it's often used by Claude.

I need help for this specific use case. After seeing this post though, I'd like to switch the design of the law firm's website. Anyone has some advice on how to achieve the 'consultancy/law firm' trustworthy feeling, without using this colour?

Ik wil gewoon studeren, een leuke baan vinden en iets van meerwaarde betekenen voor de samenleving. Maar eerlijk gezegd krijg ik steeds meer het gevoel dat het allemaal misschien geen zin meer heeft. De ontwikkelingen rondom AI gaan in zo’n absurd tempo dat het soms moeilijk is om te geloven dat de kennis en vaardigheden die ik nu opbouw over een paar jaar nog daadwerkelijk waardevol zullen zijn.

Dit weekend heb ik verschillende video’s en ontwikkelingen rondom GPT-6 Astra bekeken, en ergens raakte me dat behoorlijk. Het zette me aan het denken over mijn studie, omdat die door de huidige vooruitgang in AI ineens enorm nutteloos begint te voelen.

Letterlijk alles wat je op een computer doet, kan A.I. sneller uitvoeren. Ik voel me er eigenlijk al het gehele weekend somber over.

Wil van het weekend graag rond zuid-limburg gaan fietsen (met e-bike), wat is de mooiste fiets route? :)

I think I've outgrown this hobby.

The only way I can realistically play is at my local game store, and while there are certainly moments of laughter and genuinely fun games, too often the overall experience leaves me feeling miserable.

There are some normal, enjoyable people in the community, but it's hard for me to enjoy a hobby when it regularly puts me in situations with people who make me uncomfortable. Whether it's the player pushing 50 who start sulking or complaining when they're eliminated, the people bringing NSFW proxies, the players who seem to show up purely to exert some kind of power fantasy and refuse to match the table's power level, or the ones who hold everyone hostage by taking 30-minute turns... those experiences wear me down.

The concept of Magic is still fun to me. I've always approached the game as a way to have a good time with other people. Unfortunately, the reality is that too many of my experiences haven't been enjoyable enough to justify the time and energy.

At this point, I'm planning to keep three decks (for nostalgia I guess) and sell everything else. Now I'm just wondering what the quickest and most effective way is to sell my collection.

Mijn huidige studentenbaan geeft mij weinig voldoening, omdat ik mijn interesse en vaardigheden in de IT daarin niet kan benutten. Naast mijn studie heb ik gewerkt aan diverse persoonlijke projecten, waardoor ik inmiddels een portfolio heb opgebouwd. Daarom zou ik graag al tijdens mijn studie aan de slag gaan in een professionele omgeving, waar ik kan bijdragen aan softwareontwikkeling of een andere IT-gerelateerde functie. Ik ben gemotiveerd om mijn kennis verder te ontwikkelen, ervaring op te doen in het werkveld en mezelf uit te dagen met echte projecten.

Is het mogelijk om als student al een dergelijke baan te vinden?

I met a girl from Turkey. She’s really into me, and I genuinely like her too. She’s sweet, caring, and seems very excited about visiting me soon.

The issue is that I’m not Muslim, and she wears a hijab. I don’t eat pork, don’t drink, don’t smoke, and I try to be a good person, but I simply didn’t grow up with Islam. She claims her family would accept me, but I believe they’re very conservative. They only eat halal meat, and once her mother got very angry at her for reading the Quran without wearing a hijab. I also think she herself is quite religious. ((Does she just want to make me Muslim and steal my Dua's? /sarcasm))

I’ve tried to discuss my concerns before, but she didn’t let me break contact. As her visit approaches, I’m feeling more and more uneasy. I worry that pursuing a relationship could damage her relationship with her parents, and I don’t want to put her in that situation. She is also excited to visit the country, so I was thinking about remaining friends once she arrives, and still be a good friend.

I do think she is sweet, but I feel like I might have to break both our hearts and cut contact. I’m struggling because I genuinely care about her, but I also want to prevent potential harm.

Has anyone have advice on what I could do?

I understand having your deck shut down hurts, and it's often somewhat frowned upon to constantly destroy one player's commander, but why? Yes, it might not be fun, but there are plenty of ways to shut down one player's deck which are somehow seen as more acceptable.

Do you think it's okay to target one player's commander multiple times in a row if it benefits your way to victory?
