Trading in POE

I’ve just recently started playing POE (Act 4) and am completely addicted to it. I started playing ARPGs when I went to a friend’s house and he had D3. From there I’ve played D4, D2R, GD, TL2, and now POE. Like I said, I’m very early in the game, but so far I would have to say that POE seems much better and more developed than any of those games. Here’s my question- does POE really rely on trading to reach endgame? I’ve seen all kinds of different opinions on this, but frequently I’ve seen people say you can’t gear your character for endgame content if you don’t trade or that it’s virtually impossible to do so. Is this true? Is it really that hard at endgame that you won’t stand a chance without trading?

Anyone remember "comedian" Owen Benjamin's musical tribute to Jordan Peterson? I could only find this brief clip, but I think that's more than enough
