It was a great day! 46

Got to spend Friday at the Cincinnati Open. Would love friends to chat and share with. Too much fun out there to be negative all the time. Stick in Cincinnati if anyone is reasonably close.

Typical Tuesday Business Casual.

Be gentle. I’ve lost a bit of weight and this is one of the shirts I have not had taken in yet.

New Watch!

I wanted something low maintenance as a daily driver. Something to dress up and dress down. This Peyten fit the bill perfectly.

Advice Appreciated—commodities option to leverage data science.

I’m a mid-career professional who is making a bit of a pivot. Right now, I’m in tax regulation. Boring but low stress compared to previous accounting and budget roles. I’m working on a MS in Applied Data Science at UChicago and likely could take some electives from the Financial Mathematics Department. There is one quantitative finance course offered within DSI.

What types of roles are there for someone who understands markets at least at an intermediate level, would utilize data science (not sure that I would land a quant trading position) , and that offers at least moderate work-life balance. I was thinking maybe risk or research, but I wanted to see what others thought. I’m most interested in commodities since I grew up in the south and have lived all over the middle of the Country. I feel like I just have a better feel for the major economies around commodities better than other markets.

Open to all locations and commodities.
Thanks in advance!
