In recent times Bunnings has instituted a bunch of changes that have seen me just begin to loathe the place, and actually go elsewhere. I go in these days and expect no excitement and only scrutiny for being a shitcunt (i.e. their customer).

They made it much harder to return items - It started when the returns process took a turn and you had to both provide a receipt AND be the original purchase method. Gone were the days you could rock up and at the very least if they needed, show them a bank statement and get a store credit. A few years of poor receipt keeping is on me but I'm fucked if I need an original card when I've swapped banks a few times. And the first time i tried to return something under the new process, better fucking believe they treated me like I had stolen the shit.

They changed the clearance item process - ABSOLUTE CUNTS for doing this, gone of the days where I could get a 5 piece Stabila level set for $15, or a 33 piece sidchrome set in a cantilever tool box for $25. Now it all gets slapped with a generic reduction percentage, plants die before they sell now and junk accumulates on the clearance trollys like never before.

Everything went under lock and key - wanna view that cable, go to the front counter. Want to hold that hammer, call the attendant to unlock them. Wanna take a shit in their toilets, install a ring camera so they can watch, fuckers.

Fucking security gates, more self serve registers and closing the customer service desk for payments - the coupe de gras of their turn to enshitification, now its just coles or woolies except the cunt looking at the receipt on the way out is an even bigger judgier cunt, yes you STUART you middle aged door guarding cuck.

And lets not even start on how their actual stock has gotten shitter too, pet food, fuck off. Toasters and microwaves, fuck off.

Fuck Bunnings and fuck Stuart in particular.

I am respooling all my handlines, just wondering what people do or what is the best when deciding how much line to put on.

I feel too little line on the reel means it has a greater surface area of plastic slowing down the cast, which i find problematic with floats. But I also feel too much line is a waste.

Any tips?

My brother is on disability and recently turned 35 so he is long term.

Both our parents have passed and I live a fair way away so I have let him have control over his finances and regularly check in with him where he says its all under control. A unit was left for him where he owns outright and resides.

This week the penny dropped and I find out between rates, water, electricity and body corp he is around $7000 behind in payments. I have no idea where he pisses his money away on.

I have been organising early super release just to get him up to date, his super balance is just over $7000.

In the future I want to set up an account where only his clink gets paid into it, the payment gets apportioned to sub accounts to cover bills, some savings and the rest is transferred to him. I do not want to set up a trust as it does not intend to operate like that, it would simply be a holding bay for payments and savings. Essentially I would wear the tax costs of holding savings for bills. I also have EPOA over him for financial purposes.

I worked out he would need about $350 a fortnight set aside to cover any and all current and future expenses. And no he cannot be trusted to do this himself.

So has anyone else done this? Would I need to let Centrelink know or do I just open the account and he changes the payment details? And is there any other way to do this?

Anyone know what the go is with how the prices are determined? It seems like an arbitrary % is applied to the item, then it only goes down if more stickers are applied.

I feel the days of finding amazing items on clearance tables are basically gone. Plants used to be my go to but even they do not get discounted as much as they used to.

I have a bit of a question about EPA and if any money held under it effects any income/asset tests for either myself or my brother

• My brother owns a unit left to him through inheritance when my father passed, with the intention that one day it would be sold and developed
• I have EPA for my brother as he cannot manage himself financially at all
• He is on a disability pension and I receive his payments as EPA currently where it doesn't reflect as income as it is a government benefit I receive on his behalf (I allocate money into his sub accounts for bills then direct transfer the remainder).
• Developers are finally poking around and the prices being mentioned indicate he will have enough to buy another unit and about another 200K leftover
• We have discussed and agree in the event there is residual, I would hold it for future spending and also to pay body corp fees directly from that account annually
• I understand as EPA i can derive no benefit so it is going into a non-interest accruing account
• He does not want to invest or anything like that as the regular known amount of disability pension he gets fortnightly is comforting

So question is, for all legal purposes the money is still considered his but being held by me? Therefore the ATO wouldn't consider it my income, but obviously centerlink could consider it against their needs as his income. Also if we did put it in an interest accruing account, the interest would be his for centerlink/tax purposes and not mine (yet i have no idea how that plays out tax return time).
