It can get better.

I’m 21. I live with my best friend, have a cat, study something that is my passion. I have a lot of friends, regularly see my psychiatrist and haven’t had a proper manic or hypomanic episode in years.

When I was 14, I was just finishing middle school where I was bullied. I was surrounded by homophobia. I had hallucinations on a daily basis. I started high school where the classes and stress were too much for me. I couldn’t focus, I couldn’t relax and I had panic attacks all the time. When I was 15 I started drinking and smoking, by 16 I was a full blown alcoholic. My parents were horrible. Screaming matches, my father’s violent outbursts, my mother’s hatred for how I looked, all of this crushed me.

At 17 I was diagnosed with bipolar. Quetiapine saved my life. With time, i got additional medication. Moved out at 18. Found a support system of people who love me. Patched things up a bit with mom. Quit drinking and quit nicotine.

If I read this post when I was 14 I’d think this is bullshit. It’s not. Life really can get better, no matter what age you are. We all need time to learn to cope with bipolar, get proper help and rebuild your life in a shape that fits you. Good luck to everyone on this sub. I believe in you.

A bong vs my shitty hands.

I’m a user of medical cannabis. I constantly drop my bong that’s made of glass because of my shaky, weak hands with a great personality instead of eye-hand coordination. For obvious reasons (I don’t want to deal with microplastics in my throat) I don’t own a plastic bong. Are there any ways to reduce the risk of breaking my bong?

The reason I want a bong, is that in my country (Poland) legal medical weed is not available in edibles. Joints are even worse on my throat, I don’t have a vaporiser because it broke, and I don’t have enough weed per month to risk wasting it on making my own badly made edibles (I’m not a very good baker and I’ve made several cupcake edibles that failed to work).

Accidentally bought kitten wet food- can I still feed some of it to my cat?

I went out to buy wet food for my cat (spayed, a little over a year old, female). They only had one can of her usual flavour, so I bought a couple different ones from the same brand. Two of the cans I bought were kitten food (up to 12 months). In proper calories, one can should last me three meals, so six meals combined. Is it okay to feed it to my cat or should I throw it away (I don’t know anyone with kittens)?

Favourite cat enrichment ideas?

Hi! I’ve adopted my one year old kitty Marcille around two months ago. She’s very playful and adventurous. What are your favourite games and such to play with your cat?
I’ve recently been into making improvised sniffing puzzles through tossing a couple of dry treats on a blanket and folding it so she has to dig for the treats.

Marcille is lost in the sauce.

Bought some discounted luxury churu. Always knew my little girl was fancy, but apparently she’s in fact, luxurious.

Posting my kitty Marcille again<3.

I wanted to show off the circle pattern on her sides:3. She’s still growing her fur back from her side-spay at the shelter, but she’s very brave and doesn’t scratch her scar.

My cat Marcille is hard at work pollinating flowers.

She says meow and wishes you a meow day.
Also Marcille wants to remind you to always pick up your trash and try to not kill bugs during your walks🫶🫶🫶. As cat lovers we need to remember the whole ecosystem needs protection to keep both us and our furry companions happy!!!

How do I know when my cat is playing and when she’s scared???

Two days ago I adopted my first cat Marcille. She’s a wonderful girl and getting to know her is a delight. I’m asking this because I really want to help her play. I live in an apartment, not big but also not small (70 squared meters). Most of the time, Marcille lounges around me- sometimes close like on the bed or on me, sometimes on the floor in the shade. She doesn’t seem scared of me. She comes up to get pet, lays with her belly up, etc. But sometimes she runs around the flat, I know zoomies are normal, so I’m not that worried. She mostly dashes around three areas: my bedroom, the hallway and the kitchen-living room. When she runs into a room, she hides and crouches. She runs around more if I follow her but does it either way. Is she playing and she wants me to ‘chase’ her, or should I let her be?

Movie about someone birthing a demon in a bathroom.

When I was a kid I saw a scene from a movie where a young girl runs to the bathroom at her school, births a bloody demon baby and calls it something like abomination or perversion but in polish.

Help me find a film I saw as a kid.

Okay so I remember seeing I think the ending bit of a movie, where one character died, and another character was really excited about the fact that she (?) could send him (?) letters even after he died. There’s a chance that it was a film about someone chronically ill who used a wheelchair. I’m pretty sure I saw it on tv. If it helps I were born in 2005 so the film propably was made before 2015. Other clues I have are that I lived in Poland my whole life and my parents didn’t have cable.
