Foreigner asked the staff to turn off the music and completely killed the mood inside McDo

Was eating at McDo earlier near escario when this foreign guy went up to the staff and asked them to stop the music that was playing inside the store.

And they actually turned it off.
I don’t know what his issue with the music was, but it wasn’t even particularly loud or disruptive. It was just the normal background music you’d expect in a fast-food restaurant. Now the entire place is dead silent except for people talking, chairs scraping against the floor, kitchen noises, and the occasional beeping from behind the counter.

What annoyed me more was the entitlement of expecting an entire restaurant to change its environment because one customer apparently didn’t want to hear the music. There were plenty of other people eating there who obviously weren’t complaining about it.

Maybe there was a legitimate reason and I’m missing some context, but asking the staff to lower it would’ve been understandable. Having it completely turned off for everyone is another thing.

Privilege ahh move. Completely killed the mood inside the place 💀

Is this shop legit?

I’m planning to buy a customized journal as a birthday gift for my girlfriend

Their journals look really nice, and they have a decent number of followers, but I couldn’t find many reviews outside of their own page. Before I place an order, I wanted to ask if anyone here has actually bought from them.
I’m mainly wondering:
Did you receive your order?
How was the quality of the journal?
Was the customization accurate?
How long did shipping take?
Would you recommend them?

It’s going to be a birthday gift, so I just want to make sure they’re legitimate before spending the money.
Thanks in advance!

It’s honestly heartbreaking that Filipino same-sex couples still have to do this.

I just came across this ad about couples getting legally married over video, and my first thought wasn’t “that’s cool.” It was how sad it is that so many Filipino same-sex couples don’t even have the option to get legally married here. As of today, same-sex marriage still isn’t legally recognized in the Philippines. Even if two people have been together for years, built a life together, or started a family, the law still doesn’t recognize their relationship as a marriage.

Seeing Filipino LGBTQ+ couples look for alternatives, whether that’s getting married abroad, through jurisdictions that allow remote ceremonies, or finding other legal workarounds, just reminds me how unequal things still are. Regardless of where anyone stands politically or religiously, it’s difficult not to feel for couples who simply want the same legal protections and recognition that heterosexual couples can access.

Things like:
• Hospital visitation and medical decision-making
• Inheritance and property rights
• Spousal benefits
• The security of having your relationship legally recognized

These are things many couples take for granted.
I just hope that someday Filipino same-sex couples won’t have to look overseas or rely on legal workarounds just to have their commitment recognized.
Curious what everyone here thinks. Has public opinion changed enough that the law should catch up, or do you think we’re still a long way from that?

Finally Bought My Own Aircon at 23

Been wanting an aircon for years but always pushed it aside because there was always something more important to spend money on. A few months ago, I was editing videos in my room at night, sweating while my laptop sounded like it was about to take off. Since I work from home as a video editor and spend a lot of time on my computer, I finally decided it was time.

After comparing a bunch of units, I ended up getting a TCL TAC-09CWI/UJE2 1HP Full DC Inverter Window Type AC. Picked it up from SM and had it installed a few days later.

What surprised me the most wasn’t even the cold air. It was how much more comfortable and productive my room feels now. No more choosing between opening the windows and dealing with noise, heat, and mosquitoes.

For the first few days I kept checking the electric meter and overthinking the power bill 😂 but inverter units are honestly way more efficient than I expected. As someone who’s still a student and freelancing to pay bills and tuition, this felt like one of those purchases that actually improved my day-to-day life instead of just being another gadget.

Just wanted to share this because I was losing my mind over it for years and finally found a fix. Hope it might help someone out too with the same problem lol

I stream movies/videos with my gf on Discord, and I wanted to have the full Discord experience while watching, like actually being inside Discord instead of having to keep the browser visible on the side.

The problem was that whenever I streamed from Brave browser, the stream would go black if Discord was fully covering the Brave window. It even happened with Youtube, so it wasn’t just one specific site.

The weird part was that if I made Discord smaller and left even a tiny part of Brave visible, the stream worked fine. But the moment Brave was fully hidden behind Discord, black screen.

Local files in VLC worked fine too, so I figured it was probably a Brave/Chromium issue rather than Discord itself.

What fixed it for me was adding these launch flags to Brave:

--disable-backgrounding-occluded-windows --disable-features=CalculateNativeWinOcclusion

My Brave shortcut target looks like this now:

"C:\Program Files\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe" --disable-backgrounding-occluded-windows --disable-features=CalculateNativeWinOcclusion

Make sure you add the flags after the closing quote, with a space before the first --

To check if it actually worked, open Brave and go to:

brave://version

Then look at the Command Line section and make sure both flags show up.

After doing this, I can keep Discord maximized, stream the Brave application window, and the video doesn’t go black anymore when Brave is behind Discord.

This works on all Chromium based browsers btw
