Construction Night school

Hey guys,

I'm trying to find somewhere I can do a night/weekend course for construction (bricklaying/plastering etc) in Hull?

I can only see full time courses which I can't do atm

Any ideas or info, thanks!

Getting into the trades

I'm 29 this summer, I'm currently going through a career crisis (ex software engineer and need to get hands on with something).

My dad was a general builder and I've worked as a labourer with him part time since I was about 15 doing bits of everything, I'm fairly fit and got experience with how most things work.

Im wondering what's the best way to try get my foot in the door, possibly starting to learn more of the trades like bricklaying, plastering etc

Any ideas?

Thanks guys

Germany baby born in UK 2025

Hi all,

I am a German dad (born in England in 1997, unmarried) and my baby was born in 2025 in England.

I understand he is German by birth but the embassy website isn't 100% clear on whether I have to register his birth within 1 year so that he doesn't lose citizenship?

Anyone got any info or done something similar before?

Thanks

New Job - unsure prospects

Hello all,

Weird question but I was unemployed for a couple of months and I was lucky enough to get a trainee job doing fibre, cctv, WiFi, AV and fire alarm installation on £28k with potential to earn more when experienced .

However, I never imagined this as my career before this week and I have no clue about the industry or prospects. Boss said he's gonna put me through all relevant qualifications and exams etc.

I was just wondering what future career is gonna look like, what's the rough earnings of a experienced engineer in this career, if its a good career to be in. etc

Thanks

Hi guys,

Asking for my parents here, my dad is a builder and drove his van over to use in Spain.

He's gone to register the van and get Spanish plates for it and the people have said because the van doesn't have windows in the back it's not legal and they won't register it?

It's just a normal white work van with sliding doors and 2 doors at the back.

Any ideas how they might be able to sort this?

They've spoken to another couple who had a van and they put 2 windows in and it was still rejected?

Thanks,

My car recently had the notification 'Battery Charging System' come up on the dashboard. So I thought I'd drive around to help charge the battery maybe?

I've just come to drive the car again and the battery is dead and worn start the car.

How do I know if it's a bad battery or bad alternator?

Pic attached with notification

Thanks guys
