She needs a lil scrub down, her pet, and some new shoes (they've got some minor chew marks, definitely a child's so that's cool 🤙) probably could've found her for a lower price, but the person selling her did lower the price for me, so I'm not bothered ❤️

I found this gorgeous gal while yard sailing yesterday 👼 Her box said Ran D, the back of her neck says R&D. I've looked it up and found what there is to find, which isn't much. Just wondering if any knowledgeable collectors know anything about the line, I love learning the history of dolls I find. She's missing an earring and a couple fingers, but one of the fingers was in the box, I'll sculpt/paint another so she has 2 full hands, and I think I'll just give her a new set of earrings altogether.

So like, these dolls have always felt like a direct response to the success of Coraline, ever since 2010. How do fans feel about the idea that that's where the Inspiration for the line came from? I don't think it was ever cited as Inspiration, I just think anyone with eye sight and common sense would assume that's the case, am I wrong tho? Like genuinely, is this a thing that's been 'established' among fans?
Just wanna share some exeptionally cool stuff I got from Dolls×Darcy recently ( https://www.etsy.com/shop/DollsXDarcy ) They worked perfectly to convert this into a 'common room' ❤️ She made the window seat + the pictures, candels, and some of the books on the shelves, and included an adorable printout to put behind the window 🌻 She also made this fabulous lil 420 set that I'm totally obsessed with! Didn't take pictures, but she included a rainbow lighter cover and lip balm keychain as sort of 'gifts with purchase' as well, and I immediately put both to use 🥰🥰 (both can be found on her Etsy as well 👀) I love highlighting independent artists, and she makes some really fun and fabulous accessories for both your dolls and you
My Misty Mysterious came in this morning, and my doll room is 'under construction' so I wanted to share my collection while they're all laid out like this ❤️ I started collecting them when they came out and ended up giving away my original collection, so I'm really glad I've 'circled back' in the last few years 🥰 They bring me so much joy, carry such a strong sense of nostalgia, and they're quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of my whole collection
I love monster high, and I've always had really great experiences with other collectors when I buy/sell/trade online, I love getting to know about people's collections and who their favorite characters and dolls are ❤️❤️ But I'm still an adult, and I can't pretend that certain aspects of the community don't bother me. I'm so tired of seeing people get so stressed out over dolls, or post questions that have painfully obvious answers, stuff that's unrealistic, or just brings people down. So here's my unsolicited advice for any collectors, old/new, whoever needs to hear it.
If you see a release that you're interested in is coming soon, find out the date and time of release. They're usually listed on Mattel Creations, and people always post them leading up to releases. A few recent dolls haven't been announced until a day or 2 before the slated release date, but if you know that a release is coming and you're not sure if you'll want it, be ready to go for it just in case. Don't stress out on the 'What if it's one I want?' Make sure you know your time zones. It's a Google search away, don't be stressed if you don't know, it's not hard to figure out.
Set an alarm, and be on the website a couple minutes before the time of release (easy one) watch the countdown to zero, don't refresh the page, it will refresh on its own when the doll becomes available. Add to cart. Go to checkout. The Captchas are never hard, don't panic. Don't refresh while waiting in line or during checkout.
There will usually only be one release. If you missed one and are wondering if they'll re-release, the answer is most likely no. The only official re-release so far has been The Grady Twins. Never say never, there are rumors of a couple other re-releases, but no matter what anyone says, they're just rumors, nothing has been announced by Mattel.
*Sometimes* Mattel Creations does 'restocks' shortly after a release if they sell out exceptionally fast. For the Alien release, Scarah, and Shorty, after the initial releases, the website offered a certain number of pre-orders. Don't hold your breath though.
Pre-order does not mean that there is a set street date for a doll, and on that (nonexistent) release date the doll will be readily available. Pre-order means you're ordering the doll before it's ready to be shipped to you. That's it.
If you're working or in school at the time of release, figure something out. I'm sympathetic, but your schedule is yours to manage, and the negative self centered energy just isn't cute.
Your financial situation is also yours to manage. Nobody wants to hear people complain because they don't have money for dolls. Way too many people don't have money for food for me to feel sympathy here. It's a drag, and not the good kind ❤️
Nobody owes you a good deal on a doll. Stop lashing out at people about prices, it's a waste of your energy. Scalpers suck, but let's not tear down fellow collectors.
Again, no they probably won't reproduce any dolls that you missed out on. The odds aren't in your favor. Make peace with that.

Got this diva in the mail today, she's even cooler in person 🤡 The hair looks, walks, and talks like a poly duck 🦆 but that made me feel much better about giving her the haircut I imagined when we got the product description, I definitely prefer it ❤️
