I've transcribben it as "ᛃᚹᚢᛗᚠᛇᛘᚲ ᚠᛋ ᚻᚹᛖᛟ", taking a best guess at whatever that thing fourth from the end is. Should transliterate to "jƿumfïxc fs hƿeo" if I did my work right? "hweo" definitely looks germanic but I couldn't find any match on Wiktionary, and "fs" might honestly just be a typo. "jƿumfïxc" I can't make much of besides it having a kinda "-ish" or "-igh"-ish suffix look to it. Does this actually say anything?

I'm looking for polished, simple games that are good for pulling out when you just have a bit of extra time to kill. So that's mostly going to be offline, arcade-like highscore-based games. Notably, I'd like to avoid things with much long-term progression; anything strongly level-based or with upgrades that persist between runs is less than ideal (but not completely off the table).

Some games I've already checked out:

Some particular games I'd like to find:

• Traditional Breakout/Arkanoid (Breakout 71 is very good but it isn't exactly traditional)
• Space Invaders-like
• Tetris?? (I've tried some of the common recommendations like Falling Lightblocks and Techmino but none of them do what the old EA Tetris app did for me 💔)
• Maybe some kind of colour match game?

I'm going in mostly blind but I do know the game is in 4:3 (obviously) (so widescreen hack probably), has some infamous backtracking (not sure how bad it is so not sure if I should go out of my way to do anything about it), and had some censorship in localization (so I definitely want to get rid of that).

Does that about cover it for a "vanilla but slightly nicer/more convenient" experience?

I have a number of rips I'm fond of but don't seem to have album releases. I'm just wondering if anyone might know if any happen to be available as FLACs elsewhere (or perhaps the wiki is missing the album data for any of them).

Also, not quite a rip but rather related, Shake It Flat by IAmMellowYellow. This did appear as a rip with an album release (twice!), but it's not quite the same version. This one's a long shot since I actually managed to reach IAmMellowYellow about it and they said they don't even have the original MP3 anymore, much less a FLAC, but I'll still ask here on the off chance someone happens to have or know of an archive that's less compressed than the YouTube upload.

I'm not talking about waiting in anticipation for the next chapter and stuff, I have other things to keep myself busy. I'm talking about how long there is to digest each chapter before the next one. In this time, every secret of the game will be picked apart and looked at under a microscope. We will know everything there is to know in each chapter before the next one. And, I think that kinda sucks?

You know what was fucking awesome? Missing the secret and losing to the Knight at the end of Chapter 3, going on through Chapter 4, then coming back to 3 after beating it because I knew I'd missed something. Getting the Shadow Mantle and realizing "oh shit, I know where this will be useful", getting the Black Shard and realizing "oh shit, I know where this will be useful". Just this, natural feeling of discovery and reward for going back. It rocked!!

I know I can't be the only one upset about learning about the Weird Route through talk on Reddit or YouTube or what have you, knowledge which ultimately came from datamining, instead of getting to work out the most awesome cryptic mystery out of an in-game creepypasta that hints you towards it. Holy shit dude. Can you imagine how awesome that would have been? To have found Snowgrave on your own with nothing but the in-game diegetic hints? I can't even find the words. And so many of us had that experience taken from us because we had 4 goddamn years to pick the chapter apart before there was even a chance to find it naturally. We were robbed!!

I really feel like this game would have been best played at once, or at least, that's how I'd like to have been able to play it. A straight run through missing whatever's missed, a second run where you try to do everything "right", and however many more based on whatever else there is to do. But instead it feels like this process is repeating for every chapter. You beat the chapter, you maybe play the chapter again because you missed something or whatever, then you play the whole game up to it again because there's some specific permutation of choices that leads to some special interaction in the new chapter that you wanna see, and while you're at it you'd might as well do everything right so you have your save file ready for the next release. Rinse and repeat for your weird routes, rinse and repeat when the next chapter's out... And you do largely have to do this if you want the best experience, because if you don't you'll have any cool surprises inevitably spoiled online one way or another (even if you avoid deltarune-specific communities, like I tend to do, the presence is big enough that it will leach into any adjacent online communities).

I just, hate feeling like I need to replay the game 3 times every release because of some special fusable item or original Starwalker or room decoration or fucking EGGS! What are the eggs, Tony?? As of Chapter 5, there aren't even enough save slots to keep a file handy for every major route variation (regular pacifist, Snowgrave, Chapter 2 aborted Snowgrave, Chapter 5 aborted ("aborted"?) Snowgrave; and that's just assuming a regular non-pacifist run doesn't do anything special). Maybe it's me overthinking it but it's really easy to fall into really unfun perfection-chasing on your files, as to be "ready".

I'll admit this hasn't been as big a feeling in Chapter 5 as it was in the last two releases, but I've had this thought for a while and kinda needed to get it out. I've still been enjoying the game and the things that come up in this time as well as seeing the in-jokes often referenced in the new chapters are worthwhile in their own way, but I can't shake the feeling the game could have been so much even better if it wasn't split like this. Whether all at once or even the chapters just released like, over a few months or a year once all ready... Does anyone else feel this way or have I just succumb to my own special kind of deltarot?

I've been organizing my music collection and figured I'd go through the official releases for rips instead of ripping them from YouTube. I started with the classic, Athletic Theme (PAL Version), but... as mentioned on the wiki, the ending is different, no fadeout. I was fine with this in theory, but when I checked out the actual song I realized they weren't kidding about "abrupt"—what the hell? It doesn't even end a bar or anything, it just cuts off in the middle of a note. It's especially weird because it's like, a second and a half from a great natural spot to stop, but it doesn't.

So like what do I do now?? Obviously I want my rips in the highest quality possible, but then the highest-quality version sounds worse than the compressed YouTube one. I guess I could edit a fadeout back in myself, but...

Some time ago, the camera on my Swift stopped working. It seems it just isn't being detected at all, since everywhere I look says there just isn't any camera connected (including the Windows camera app). Is it possible this is some kind of driver issue or do I probably somehow have a loose cable and need to take my machine somewhere to have it opened up and put back into place?

For more detail, I first started having issues when I couldn't videocall on Discord, but Discord's video test thingy still worked fine, so I figured it was just the app acting up. Not long after, though, the video test was also failing, as was the camera app. I can't imagine it's possible for an internal cable to get partially disconnected in such a way that the camera only fails in certain situations, so it was either a coïncedence that videocalls weren't working or it's credence to some kind of software issue... But I've done all the troubleshooting I can think of (poking in Device Manager, checking drivers, even did a firmware update) and came up with nothing, so I'm not sure what to do if that is the issue. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Always had issues with my Swift's tiny dinky little charging connector, but recently the port itself has come down with an issue; seems like a contact inside got dislocated and I can't even get the charger inside anymore.

I know this model can take USB-C power, but I've found the consumption outpaces the delivery on a lot of tasks. I reckon this might just be due to the adaptor and cable I'm using, though. I'm wondering if getting a beefier USB-C charger could be a solution for me or if USB-C is just unable to match the normal charging port's output and I'll need to look into getting it fixed. Thanks.

As my mastery of the English tongue grows, I find myself wielding more and more advanced or forgotten techniques. Today I am wondering about negating things the old-fashioned way, without that auxiliary "do" we've come to rely on. It's a wonderful way to add some archaic spice to your words, but with it being mostly obsolete i find myself unsure of how to apply it in some cases. For instance, using some more productive examples:

I typically understand "not" to go after the verb, as it does now with auxiliaries and can be seen in constructions like "I know not what you mean" or "I care not for these things". Sometimes, though, it seems that "not" wants to attach a little further down, e.g. "he loves me not". What's going here?

There seem to be some verbs that behave a bit oddly when negated directly, for example, take the following sentences:

> He needs to eat

> He needs food

Negating with auxiliary "do", you just replace "needs" with "doesn't need" and the rest is unchanged. However, if you negate "needs" directly, you get:

> He need not eat

> He needs not food (?)

> He needs food not (?)

So... it's mostly normal, I guess, but things get a bit weird when "need" is working as an auxiliary. It doesn't conjugate as would be expected, and the preposition disappears entirely. What's going on here? Where does this oddity come from, and where else does it manifest?

Getting even more zesty, we can take the "wight" out of "not" entirely and work directly with "ne". I understand that "ne" goes *before* the verb, so does that make it (mostly) a drop-in replace for "does not"? Or are there more little quirks to know of? I also understand "ne" can be used in more contexts than simple verb negation but that's beyond the scope of this post

I'm interested in answers both on historical and contemporary use (e.g. dialects that have better preserved these features). I must know more about this mysterious technique, so anything is appreciated. Thanks!
