Liaison Engineer Job

Good Afternoon,

I’ve always wanted to work for Boeing, so I was pretty excited when I got an offer as a Product Review (Liaison) Engineer.

While my main career goal is design engineering, the job does sound interesting to me. Is there anyone with Liaison Engineering experience that can give me a run-down of how the job works? Is it super difficult for someone who’s a young engineer like me? (23M)

Are the weekends and holidays a lot or is it just an every so often kinda thing?

First Car I’ve Financed Myself (23)

Before I get flooded with hate comments, let me give some background:

I graduated college in 2025 and was driving my old 2012 Jeep Patriot. Didn’t really like the car but was OK with driving it into the ground to save money.

Come to find out, my brother totals his car while he’s at college. And he lived off campus so he had no way to get to class.

I ended up selling him my Jeep for like $3k and let him make deferred payments on it since he needed his money for rent and such.

I then financed a new Toyota Camry (after doing a TON of research on cars) with $5k down, paying $466 a month. For the record, I make $86.5k per year (Take-Home of $4.5k per month after taxes and 6% going into my 401k with the company match), and my insurance is $200 per month.

I currently live at home with my parents and plan on staying until my loans are paid off (Should only take a couple more years based on the rate I’m paying, I’ve been putting $3k a month into my student loans).

I took out a 7 year loan just to give more
flexibility with my student loans, but once my student loans are paid off all of my money will be going into this car. So realistically I’ll probably have it paid off in 4 years total.

2026 Camry Paint Chips WAY too Easily

Hello!

I’ve owned my 2026 Camry SE with Ice Cap White for about 9 months now.

I’ve noticed that the paint chips ridiculously easily. Like every week I notice new chips on the front. It’s gotten to the point where I’m getting so many chips I’m guaranteed to be missing a couple when I try to apply touch up paint.

Should I be worried about my car rusting?

Would I Look Bad for Leaving my Engineering Job after 9 Months for a Better Opportunity?

Hey Reddit!

For some background, I wasn’t really actively lookin for jobs, but a recruiter for one of my dream companies reached out to me about a networking event, so I decided to try it out.

A few interviews later, and I got an offer.

I’m currently an Engineer 1 at a large defense contractor, been working there for 9 months, and it is my first engineering job post-grad.

The offer I got would pay me $10,000 more and would be as an Engineer 2, so I’d be moving up the career latter.

I want to take the job because I know it’s better for my career, but I don’t want to burn bridges with the current company I work for. Is it a bad look for me to take this new job and move away from home, this early in my professional career?

I don’t know how I should feel

M23, Went on 4 dates in the span of a month with F21. Things were going awesome. It really felt like everything clicked together.

We had great convos, a similar sense of humor, she was super pretty, we both loved cats, I just really liked her more and more as time went on.

After date #4 I asked her if she wanted to be Susie, and then all of a sudden after that her vibe felt off. And then a week later she told me she “Tried to feel the same way I do but she couldn’t do it”

She was the first girl I’d ever fallen for since my rough breakup 2 years ago. It took me ages to recover from that and I feel completely lost because the one time I opened myself up again, it felt like my heart got ripped out of my chest.

It’s been a week since she dropped me and I’m still hurt. Maybe I’m just clingy or something but I don’t know what to do. I just feel worthless.

What do I do? How can I meet people without opening myself up and getting hurt by it again? How do I make myself feel better about myself? I’m at the point where I feel like I’ll never find that deep connection I’ve been desperate for with someone.

Should I take a Manufacturing Specialist job at SpaceX? Or is the recruiter lying to me?

For Reference:

I have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have worked as an engineer for a large defense contractor for the past year since my 2025 graduation.

So here’s the situation:

Yesterday, a SpaceX recruiter reached out to me about a Manufacturing Specialist role at the company. Because I’m, well, an engineer, I responded thanking him and asking him if he had any engineering openings.

He then told me that the Manufacturing Specialist role has a fast track to becoming a fully-fledged engineer within the first year, that that the specialist is SpaceX’s Entry-Level Engineering role.

Is this true? Should I apply for the position? Working on rockets and space technology is the whole reason I went into engineering in the first place.

If not, what should I do?

Corvette Owners, how much do you make and how comfortably can you afford your Corvette?

No need to answer the question if you don’t feel comfortable sharing.

The C8 has been my dream car since it came out, and after recently graduating college and landing a good entry level position, my eyes have for sure been wandering…

If I were to get one, I’d probably go for a used 2LT for like 65-70k. But I’m not really sure what my financial situation needs to look like for me to afford it.

For any C8 owners out there, how much do you Mae and how comfortably can you afford your car?

First Car when I turned 17 in 2020

Unfortunately I have no pictures of it, but I shared this car with my brother until I went to college. My grandparents old Lexus, loved this thing to death.

Lockheed Martin Experienced Professional Jobs Not Showing Up on Brassring

Hey all!

I’ve been looking to get into work with Lockheed Martin, and I have enough experience to be considered for jobs as at least an L2 Experience professional (As I’ve already made it past the initial screening in a few).

However, now when I go on brassing and look for job postings, I am unable to search up Experienced Professional roles. The best it gives me is 4 year and up College (entry level roles).

Is there a way I can fix this and does anybody know why this is the case?

Honest Review: 2026 Toyota Camry SE, 6 Months of Ownership

Hey Reddit!

Back in November, I began financing a New 2026 Toyota Camry SE.

***Overview***

Model - 2026 Camry SE
Color - Ice Cap
Add Ons - All-Weather Floor Liner, Cold Weather Package, Convenience Package, Black Badge Overlays

OTD Price: $33,900
Down Payment: $5000
Monthly Payment: $466

***Looks / Comfort***

Positives:

- Unlike many people, I love how the car looks. Super sleek, the SE trim looks gnarly. I love it.
- The interior is refreshing compared to other modern vehicles. I got the Boulder interior, so I have a nice contrast to the black interiors most modern cars have.
- Screen isn’t overwhelmingly large. And it’s built right into the dash which is awesome, not a fan of when screens just stick out.
- Back seats are very roomy.
- Trunk is HUGE. The car is a lot bigger than you’d think.
- Black rims looks SICK.

Lukewarm:

- Seats are average in terms of comfortably. You definitely notice it after extra long drives.

Negatives:

- Paint seems to chip somewhat easily. Had to touch up a few spots on the hood during early spring.

***Technology***

Positives:

- PHYSICAL BUTTONS! THANK GOODNESS!

Lukewarm:

- Touchscreen isn’t very responsive, but it’s not overwhelmingly slow. Nothing that I’d be frustrated with
- Apple CarPlay. Thank god. First car I’ve ever owned that has it.
- The app is super convenient but I hate that you have to pay for remote start after the free trial expires. Would be a positive if it wasn’t for the extra charge.
- Toyota’s digital gage cluster is nice. Nothing that distracts me while I’m driving.
- Lane Assist and Adaptive cruise are good features, nothing out of this world though. You can’t just rely on them (obviously) because if you do, your ride will be VERY uncomfortable.

Negatives:

- Apple CarPlay rarely connects on its own. I have to manually turn it on every time you start the car.

***Driving***

Positives:

- This car is no slouch. When you put it in Sport mode, you really do feel all 225 Horsepower. I only have FWD, but I kinda wish I got AWD cuz I bet that car feels even quicker.
- Handling is pretty good. Nothing out of this world but it takes corners well.
- During good weather I get like 45 MPG. I love it.
- Hybrid powertrain works great. I don’t ever notice the car switching between Battery to Engine power.

Lukewarm:

- Since I have the SE trim, you do feel the road a bit while you’re driving, since the car has a stiffer suspension.

Negatives:

No bad experiences while on the road so far.

***Maintanance / Reliability***

Positives:

With preventative maintenance, I’ve yet to encounter any major issues 6 months in. Toyota really has mastered their hybrid powertrain.

***Verdict***

Can’t really say anything bad about the Camry. It’s a proven car that has lived up to its reputation time and time again. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality sedan that’ll last you a lifetime.

However, other sedans on the market are more fun to drive and offer better technology. Toyota likes to keep it simple, and sometimes that shows. If you’re looking for an elite driving experience, the Camry may not be for you.

As someone who bought the car just to be a reliable daily, it does exactly what I need it to do. 8/10, happy with my Camry. Thanks Toyota!

Invite Only In-Person Hiring Event

Good Morning!

Recently, I got an invite from a recruiter at Lockheed for an in-person hiring event for Lockheed Martin Space.

It’s about a 4 hour drive for me to attend it, so I want to know what to expect before I decide to commit to it.

For anyone who’s actually gone to one of these events:

What should I expect?
Is it worth it to go?
How many people are usually there?
And do people actually get offers from these?

AKA I’m really just asking if it’s worth the investment (time, gas, money, etc.) to make that trip.
