I absolutely adore BookFusion, it’s been rock solid for syncing between KOreader and iOS (when I have reception/WiFi access) and the customisation is great, but I was wondering if it would it be possible to add a “bulk download” option for shelves in KOreader?

I’m requesting this for 2 reasons:

1 - I have over 1200 books uploaded to BookFusion and due to travelling for work, I don’t always have access to WiFi or even phone reception to link my ereader to my phone hotspot to download a new book when I finish my previous one.

2 - I’m an extreme mood reader. I’ll have 950 out of 1000 books downloaded and I can guarantee the only book I’ll want to read is one of the 50 I don’t have downloaded.

I realise my circumstances are outside the normal scope, most people don’t end up in the Western Australian desert relying on a satellite phone for outside contact like I do, but I figured there’s no harm in asking 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not here to ask if Nynaeve becomes a more likeable character.

I know she has a lot of character development, I know being a bully is armour/a coping mechanism for how she was so often dismissed in the Two Rivers due to her age, I know she’s fiercely protective of the people she loves and is trying to steer them in directions she thinks are safest for them, and I know she has to be angry to channel. I know at heart she’s a good person who has been thrown into the deepest of deep ends and is trying desperately to help the people she cares about swim while also keeping her own head above water.

I want to know if anyone she cares about ever call her out for how horribly she treats them? At this point the only people who seem to not tolerate her bullshit are the Aes Sedai. She’s been told off and punished in the White Tower for her attitude, but she has no respect for Aes Sedai so those punishments have the opposite effect making her angrier and more resentful.

I don’t care if it makes no difference to her attitude, I just want someone to lose their shit at her and yell “Light, can you give us a break from you being such a stroppy, judgmental bitch for 5 fucking minutes? We’re all in shitty situations, Rand is literally dealing with predestined madness and death, and you’re making this suck infinitely worse by being an unbearable asshole all the time!”

Edit: >!OK, I just hit chapter 15 where Egwene puts Nynaeve in her place while they’re both in the White Tower in Tel'aran'rhiod. I’ve read that a lot of people and up disliking Egwene but even if I end up disliking her too, I’ll always appreciate her standing up to Nynaeve like that.!<

Wanting a b&w e-reader but it’s been a while since I’ve had a look at what’s out there there’s a lot more options compared to when I last looked.

- I want a device where I can install KOreader so I don’t care about the stock software/apps

- It’ll only be used for reading EPUBs. Comics and manga aren’t my jam so colour isn’t necessary and I think it looks kinda meh with the current technology anyway.

- I want page turn buttons

- I often use warm lighting with dark mode for reading which I found made ghosting really bad with some devices, even after tweaking the settings for days on end (literally up to the 29th day of the 30 day change of mind return window)

- I don’t want something tiny like the BOOX Palma but I also don’t want something as big as the Kindle Scribe. The Kobo Libra Colour is a perfect size.

- Don’t care about note taking/annotation

- I’m in Australia (may impact availability)

I’ve tried the following, but none of them fit all my preferences: BOOX Go 7 B&W and Go Colour 7 (original and Gen II), Bigme B751C, 11th gen Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Coloursoft, and Kobo Libra Colour.

So, what do you guys recommend?

I'm wanting to update all the comments in my library so they all have the book blurbs, but so many of them have 1-2 paragraphs of marketing junk like author quotes, star ratings, and comments like "INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER!!!!!!!"

I really don't want that crap, but it'll take me forever to manually remove that stuff from every book in my library. Can anyone recommend a metadata source that doesn't have all that junk? Bonus points if it's also really succinct, like a CliffsNotes but of the blurb.

I haven’t seen MIL in close to 10 years but we mostly get along and she’s generally been pretty chill, but over the years she’s become less chill and has become so nit-picky over the most ridiculous things. Like, it’s winter here and I was reading under a blanket on the couch when she told me off for a corner of the blanket being on the floor. Another thing she got pissy about was one of our trees being “ugly” and “dead” because it has no leaves, but it’s a deciduous tree and, like I said, it’s winter.

The straw that broke the camel’s back for me was yesterday over a bottle of hand wash in the guest bathroom. The old bottle ran out so I replaced it. MIL marched me into the bathroom demanding “What is this?” but I saw no issue and said as much. According to her, I put the bottle down wrong because the label isn’t facing out.

I was so dumbfounded that I think I had an out of body experience. I picked up the bottle, peeled the label off so the whole bottle is now blank, stuck the label on the mirror, then put the bottle back on the sink. The whole time it was like I was watching myself do it, my body just went into autopilot to convey “I don’t care” and “fuck you” at the same time. I didn’t say a word and I didn’t break eye contact until I turned around and walked out of the bathroom. I think I really freaked MIL out as well because she’s been on her best behaviour since then.

My husband recognises his mum was being pedantic and kept telling her to knock it off, but he (and I) also find my reaction completely hilarious.
