Some questions about stuff that happens in To My Shore if anyone's willing to answer?
I love show to pieces but it's so confusing sometimes! I don't know if I'm just an unobservant watcher who misses clues or the show is really that bad at explaining things.
I'm on episode 11 and I really can't figure a few things out, went through "on air" posts but didn’t find a definite answer and some comments only confused me more.
In ep 11 does You Shu Lang let Fan Xiao have full-blown sex with him? At the beginning FX stops himself from forcing YSL when he sees YSL is unwilling. I assumed that it's what happens later too, that FX is in his vampire mode and kisses him but that's it, they don't actually have sex since YSL is so completely unenthusiastic. I assumed the "this isn’t us" thought that FX had carries throughout the episode. But from the comments on the episode it looks like most people assume differently?
What's up with the, uh, Fan Quin Hong character? So he was a classmate of YSL and they used to be boyfriends? And FQH dumped him because he met another guy? And now FQH offers YSL a job and also wants to get back together.... while he has a partner/ex (who he dumped YSL for) who tried to commit suicide and is now in ICU? What the everliving fuck? How much time passed between the reunion and this dinner? And FQH seems to know about the FX situation? FX says: "You haven't been home for 4 days, ignore me again and your boyfriend will die," — has YSL been sleeping with FQH for those 4 days or something? Is it just FX crazy talking here? A mistranslation? How come FX calls FQH YSL's boyfriend? How am I supposed to interpret that?
So... did YSL quit his job as a researcher at Changling Pharma despite FX's threats to cut the funding if he does? Why would he if he had to yield to FX's blackmail and agree to live with him anyway, wasn't quitting pointless? Or did he feel free to do it because now that he agreed to live with FX, FX wouldn’t cut the funding?
Also, at the beginning of the series, I figured out that after that initial fender bender FX ordered his driver to crash his car, and FX's "fiance" was in the car with the driver and got hurt. I got it from the initial scene during which the "uncle" was chastising the driver but were we ever shown that or at least explained in more detail? Were we told what FX's motives were? To find YSL and put him in hospital or to take the fiance out of commission and YSL was just a cosmic-coincidence collateral?
