ARMS #32 Bipod Adapter for NSW Recce or MK12 Mod 1??

Were these ever used for any clones in place of the KAC bipod adapters? I have a KAC on my Mod 1 and am about to start a Recce build but my local shop has one of these on a Harris bipod I think I could get fairly cheap. Just kinda like the ARMS stuff and don’t typically see much of it locally.

Mineral Spirits Caused Rust??

So for context these are Badger Ordnance scope rings that a previous owner had spray painted. Decided to strip the paint and used some CitriStrip. It obviously didn’t get all the paint but I dropped them in some mineral spirits to help remove any excess cleaner. They were fully submerged and the mineral spirits were brand new. After removing I noticed this odd staining. It feels totally smooth still and there was some similar color stuff in the screw heads but it’s scrubbed right out. He also used an absurd amount of thread locker and I noticed the inside of the threads where there was residue from that turned this same color. Is this rust or just some kind weird reaction between the paint and chemicals I used?? Anything I can do to safely remove it and not damage the rings??

Is this scope correct for any clones??

So I grabbed this Remington 700 SPS off a local guy a while back for a steal. Didn’t really buy it for the optic specifically but I wasn’t sure if this thing was “correct” for anything. It’s a Leupold MK4 LRT 4.5-14x50 and the reticle is just straight up mil dots. Any info appreciated.

Safe Removal of Paint from Stock and Optic?

I picked up this Remington 700 SPS and Leupold scope for an absolute steal a few years back. It shoots great but I absolutely hate the rattle can job the previous owner put on it. The stock is the factory one from Remington that I believe is some kind of reinforced synthetic. It has some light texturing so I was wondering what the safest/best product to strip the paint would be? I’ve used Citristrip, Goof Off, and other products before but really don’t want to harm the stock of the optic here. The barrel and receiver in less worried about being steel but I’ve never done a stock like this before.

Breach Tools for Patrol

Curious to get some other people’s thoughts and experiences with breaching tools in a patrol setting. Been considering something small like the Breach Bar from Good Dude Concepts to keep handy in the car. I can think of a handful of situations where it would’ve been handy on like accident scenes or even for some entry situations where for whatever reason kicking a door wasn’t working. If you carry one or something similar, how often have you used it? And is it worth while to keep in the car. Thanks!

Lower for NSW Recce?

So I recently snagged a Colt M4 marked lower locally for a solid deal. I’ve had the itch to do an NSW Recce since I completed my Mod 1. What’s the correct lower for these? There seems to be a ton of variance and speculation on these rifles compared to other stuff I’ve researched. One person says something, another contradicts it or says t a wrong. I’ve been looking at pics but I’m not good enough to tell dimensions and stuff based off 10+ year old images. Thanks for the help!

“Correct” Light Options

So as with all clones I’m guessing there’s some variance here between HRT, Regional SWAT, etc. I’ve looked at lots of in the wild pics and seen several options. I know Inforce is one but I’m partial to Surefire and I’ve seen a few different models used but can’t tell exactly. Several looked like just Scout series lights but others had a weird looking elongated part at the bezel I’m not familiar with. If anyone could drop a list of the correct options with models I’d appreciate any knowledge!

VFG/Handstop Options

I have an 8” MPX with factory rail. I’m noticing with a lot of my go to grips and hand stops it’s just doesn’t feel super comfy due to how wide the Handguard is. Any recommendations? I typically use a C clamp style grip. I’ve seen a couple builds with the more round VFG from Rail Scales that I thought looked good but wasn’t sure it was actually comfy with the rail.

Larger Helmet Storage Bags W/Ear Pro

Current helmet setup is a large Ops Core Carbon SF bump with Wilcox G24 and ComTac V’s on Amp Arms. I have a helmet bag (I believe it’s the one TNVC sells) however it’s not big or deep enough to properly store the helmet unless ear pro is removed. Any other options that are larger or have worked for someone with a similar rig? For context I’m looking to store my helmet and NODs inside a patrol vehicle so I’d like something easily removed, quickly accessible, and padded for safe keeping during driving. Thanks!

10” URX 4 Market?

Is there a market for the 10” URX 4 MLOK rails at all? Not the 10.75” but the true 10” rail. I can’t find one for sale anywhere currently and wasn’t sure if they just weren’t desirable or if they’re that hard to come by. I have one with minor cosmetic blemishes I was gonna part with but I’m having a hard time finding anything to compare it to to decide if it’s even worth fooling with.

Vibratite VC3 Tape for Gun Screws?

Anybody here used the Vibratite VC3 tape for anything? If so how did it work out? I got some in a two pack accidentally when ordering some normal VC3. I figured it’d be similar to the blue Nylok patches some optic screws come with. Just seems like it might be easier and less messy to apply in certain situations. Thanks!

Arisaka Scope Leveling Wedge Kit?

Anybody ever used the optic leveling wedge kit from Arisaka? How did it work? I know it only works for certain optic/mount combos due to height but I wanted a simple no mess way to get LPVOs on an AR platform level and thought this might work.

Good Deal on This Kit?

Anybody in here purchased this kit?? How do you like it?? Wrapping up building my first house and I’ve been stealing dad’s tools but obviously want/need my own stuff. I already have the larger M18 drill and impact with several batteries I got as a Christmas gift but this has majority of the other tools I wanted and is currently on sale for $599.99. Really big on keeping the same batteries across the board where possible for the sake of convenience.

Med Supplies for Patrol

So my PD provides pretty minimal issued med supplies (downed officer kit, TQ, breathe bag, AED to some, basic first aid kit, narcan, gloves) and doesn’t require we carry anything extra. I guess the idea is EMS will always have other stuff and more training if the need arises however, I work in a small but primarily rural county and beat EMS to scenes pretty often sometimes by 10-20 minutes or go to scenes where EMS can’t immediately enter but it’s safe enough I could provide aid. This all boils down to me wondering what are you guys carrying as far as med supplies?? I have some TCCC and CLS training from the military as well as some other pretty basic stuff. I don’t want to be an EMT just want to be a bit more prepared in the event it actually makes a difference for someone.

Best Way to Seal Egress Window?

I have a full size crank case basement egress window installed. Initially had some issues with water leaking in at the top of the frame. Guessing the concrete just wasn’t cut perfect and the install wasn’t done totally correct. It’s gotten a ton better since we got gutters installed and the sump basin with cover but I’ve noticed during heavy rains I still get some leakage from the top. My plan is to clean inside and out, install exterior window sealant around the entire outside of the frame, then fill the small gaps between frame and concrete on the inside with foam rope and finger caulk before sealing inside with interior silicone. Will this be enough or is there a better option??

Keeping NODs in Vehicle Long Term/Transport

For reference I’m a county cop. My agency has a few PVS-14s floating around they issue out but for this case it’d be a personal set. I work 3rds and there been quite a few times now I’d have loved to have my NODs and thermal. Other guys on shift have them as well. I have a padded helmet bag with a padded pouch designed for NODs but I’ve just been leery of keeping them in my car especially long term. I don’t baby gear but especially with it being my own stuff I don’t want to damage or break them just from beating them around in my car. For anyone doing this how do you store and secure your stuff in the car? Is the padded bag enough even for some rougher driving?? What’s been the best way you’ve found to secure them?? And has anyone ever seen damage from doing this??

Is SLR the way to go on this?? Just got a Gen 6 17 COA and wanna throw a magwell on it mostly to fill that annoying little gap between the bottom of the grip and the mags. Primarily running the factory 19 round mags. Don’t want something obnoxiously big so I’m leaning toward the short or EDC model but there doesn’t seem to be a ton of images or reviews out yet. Also for those that have then does the attachment screw sit flush or does it poke out? Feel like that would be annoying/uncomfortable if it wasn’t flush. Post pics if ya got em’!

Has anybody found a good upgrade or way to improve the Gen 6 trigger?? Got spoiled by the performance trigger in my Gen 5. The 6 is serviceable and even after only a few hundred rounds through it I can tell it’s gotten better. I was just wondering if there was a lighter disconnecter like previous gen’s. I’m really hoping they release a performance trigger. And I know it’s gonna get mentioned so I’ll just say now $270 for the Johnny Glock trigger is absolutely ridiculous and I had terrible luck with the Timber in Gen 5s so I’d rather not go those routes.

Getting my HVAC installed today. I have a two unit system and we initially thought there was enough space on the corner of the house to the left of the bump out to fit both units as you can see here there wasn’t. Both line sets are ran there so this was what my installers did as a solution. I’m not a fan of how it looks but I’m sorta stuck with it due to the line sets. Is there anything I can do to make it look better or do I just have to deal with it?

Hey guys so I have a new construction almost completed home. Drywall is up and painted. I had a back door to the home that I did not realize wasn’t making full contact on the weather stripping. We had some bad storms last night and some rain water was blowing against the door causing it to collect and ultimately pool at the base. Made a decent puddle on my sub floor and just barely got the smallest bit of the corners of the drywall near the door on either side as a result. I can feel moisture but it’s not squishy or anything just have a tiny amount to give. I toweled up the water, fixed the seal, and immediately put a fan on it to dry everything out. Will I be ok here? This was all in less than a 12 hour span and the dampened portion will be covered by the finish door trim as well. Just want to make sure I’m covered and replace it if necessary. Thanks!!
