[Question] How organize a 3 or 4 automatic watches rotation to optimize durability and service intervals.

I currently tend to use one watch for a week straight and then move to the next and let the previous one unwind.

I usually wind and set the watch at the end of the WE for the following week.

My assumption is that this way the (mechanical) wear is reduced and yet the lubricants shouldn't seize/harden, but I have no supporting evidence and I'd like to hear some founded inputs.

Thanks in advance.

Grazie in anticipo.

Price of YN55 movements?

I have seen some on AliX for less than 40 Euro claimed to be original.

What should I expect?

Thanks.

Do the Weishi work properly if the watch hast the crown at 4 o'clock?

I am going to get an Orient Triton and I am wondering whether I would be able to monitor its health state properly?

Thanks.

Timegrapher values vs real world time keeping.

Finally I got a timegrapher and I could check a couple of watches I own and use.

One is a Chinese with NH35 which keeps time quite well with some +4s/d.

The other is a Mido with ETA C07.6xx which is a bit disappointing with -7s/d.

Putting the latter dial up on the timegrapher the values are nearly ideal, both beat error and time deviation are very close to zero.

With other orientations (crown left/right/down) it would lose a few sec per day.

The first watch gives some +12 spd dial up and lower, partly negative values orientated otherwise.

Can please someone help me to understand these values in relation to the daily behaviour and how I should more effectively do the measurements?

I don't plan to service the watches myself any time soon and I'm just trying to understand how things work, like: if I would service and regulate a watch, which values should I target?

,Thanks in advance.

[Question] Ratio Freediver auto vs. Boderry Seaturtle?

If you had to pick one between these two which one would it be and why?

Other options under, say, 200 Euro, diver style 200m with sapphire glass, NH35/NH36, date and no cyclops?

Thanks.

Omega coaxial?

I recently read an article about alternative escapement solutions and among others the coaxial was mentioned and briefly described.

I'd like to hear some qualified opinions about this escapement especially in relation to its durability and serviceability.

Is it something that most watchmakers would manage or must the watch be sent to Omega for a service?

Thanks a lot.

Time keeping?

I have an Ocean Star 200c which currently does -7s/d.

Maybe it's within the specs, but I am a bit disappointed and I would like to hear some figures here.

I also have a Hamilton with the same movement and a cheap Chinese watch with a NH35 and both do around +4s/day, if not better and that is quite OK to me.

[Question] Low Power Reserve.

I recently got myself a used Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba, a couple of years old and presumably used only occasionally.

I used it a few days so far and the time keeping is acceptable, even if not exciting, around +5s/d.

What surprised me: after using it for two days, it stopped running within 24h of non use.

I will use it and keep an eye on it and I already ordered a timegrapher, also for other reasons.

What could cause this disappointing running time?

Thanks.

[Question] How do automatic watches hold up cycling?

I am talking firstly about commuting on paved road and yet the pavement is not always like suede and shaking and vibrations are unavoidable.

Currently I have and use an inexpensive Addiesdive watch with NH35 movement and two others with ETA C07.621 (Hamilton and Mido).

Any extensive experience accordingly?

Thanks in advance.

Pink Khaki Navy Scuba

I found the mentioned watch (barely) used for a reasonable price and I am going to pull the trigger.

Pink is not necessarily my favorite color, but I don't dislike it on occasions.

Anything I should know before I get it?

Thanks.

Nato straps for the gray Ocean Start 200C?

I was actually eyeing the blue one and I found this at a very reasonable price (barely) used.
After considering it a couple of days I pushed the button.
Now I'm thinking about how making it more vibrant and less dull with some (Nato) strap and I'm open to suggestions.
i´d like the strap to harmonize with the watch while bringing in some contrast.
One Idea would be to play with the (very decent) orange accents already present in the dial.

Thanks in advance.

Use a timegrapher just to determine whether it's time for a service?

I'm going to buy my first valuable automatic watch (probably a Mido Ocean 200) and I am quite concerned about the service/intervals.

Would it be senseful to use a timegrapher like the Weishi 1000/1900 to monitor deviations in amplitude a.s.o. to determine when it's time for a service?

I am not going to service the watch myself, but I would give it to some professional watchmaker.

Thanks.

Grazie in anticipo.
