What is this used for?

I got it in a box from my dad and he doesn’t know either. It says “electric trucking power pack” so I don’t even know if it is for trains. The red clip is too big for any of my track and this is no controller.

Sorry if it seems like I post a lot, I just got into the hobby and I need a few questions answered before I really start.

Couple of questions about some new stuff

Yesterday I went to an antique store and go a whole bunch of new track, wagons and a new engine. I am very new to this hobby (started about 2-3 weeks ago, hence the reason I’m running on carpet) and don’t know a lot about this stuff. Can you guys help me learn about this stuff?

1-What does this shoot or is it purely for show?
2-Why is the end of this track so odd, is it broken or part of a set?
3-Can someone date this box?
4-can you mix these track?
5-(not pictured) I just got an old engine and it sparks like hell on a clean and fine track, how can I fix this?
6-what website would you guys recommend for small stuff like wheels and track cleaner?

Track problem or engine problem?

I just got this new track from my dad and I was trying to run one of my engines, which I know works as I have used it a lot before, and it kept sputtering as I pushed it along the track. Some spots do have some rust but I don’t think it’s too major.

I just got into the hobby today after wanting to for a long time, I got a set, a lot of wagons, and some cars and track. I spent $255. Does that seem steep and how much did you guys spend?

I need the name to a racing game!

It was a long time ago and I was younger so I don’t remember much but it was a disk game played on a light computer where you drove a car. I believe it was maybe 5-10 years ago and me and my brother called it Car Crash but I don’t have the slightest clue what it was. It wasn’t very modern and had lower graphics.

I know that it doesn’t really narrow it down but this is Reddit, a man could probably find a game just by one detail.
