phewwww. I hosted my annoying SIL for a week and a day without crashing out on her or myself even though I have been struggling all in luteal! I’m proud!

Context: American married to a man from ZA. Most family is there except my SIL and her family a few states away.

my mother in law is great. not judgmental and there to help with my toddler and make memories with him. probably enjoyed being away form my dick-ish FIL.

my SIL and her kids come frequently but I she is just so over the top. i have to cook and have so much food her her when she is here and she doesn’t touch a dish or gets upset my toddler doesn’t warm up to her. she spends most of the day FaceTiming other relatives all day. she is always asking for money but has so much designer clothes and I question her leaving her teens home alone for a week. if I don’t say good morning right away she gets spicy. just couldn’t imagine taking over someone’s whole house and my very short time of off work as I am a school employee and run a summer program. just really annoyed at running a bnb.

does anyone else really struggle with dogs? Not a fear of them. But so overwhelmed, and overstimulated by them. The smell, the barking the lack of personal space the sound when they eat. I would never ever ever heard a dog, but I feel like if you were to tell anyone that you don’t like dogs, they automatically think you’re a terrorist. i also work somewhere that is “Fido Friday” and people bring in their dogs and I cannot focus then.

hello! I have an interview for a hospital social position and I applied because it was the maternity ward, which is my ideal spot. The recruiter contacted me and he said I would also be floating to different for my other hospital social workers. How often do you float? I am new to hospital social could do really well in pediatrics emergency and maternity but something like MedSurg or would be a big learning curve and I’m just not as interested honestly.

I am currently a school social worker at an out of district school as part of a nonprofit in New York State. There is a website (OLAS) where you can apply for jobs at the school but it’s a very drawn out application because it’s the one made for a teacher or principal as well. It’s kinda strange but it asks for letters of reference that you upload. I just think it’s weird because I’ve never applied for a job where a letter is uploaded and essentially I think anyone could alter it. When I was in college and we needed letters of recommendation it was sent right to the admissions office via a special link or emailed by the recommender. 

I put slots in for who my references are who are all 100% positive but I’m left out the letters section. Is that a red flag or is it 100% required? Thanks in advance for any guidance! 

my husband asked me what i wanted on Friday. I want a massage but getting a gift card for one is lame becuase it’s on me to plan when we are both free so I can go and he can stay with the toddler. I also have specific people I want. he came back from work on Saturday and asked if we were going dinner. most places would need a reservation, it’s crowded and taking a toddler out to eat is kinda hectic. I told him I was going to go out alone and tomrrow we would do some family things and spend time with my mom. He totally lost it and thought I was being crazy and selfish. I went to go order take out and he wanted to place his order. I told him they can figure our dinner, take our was for me and I cook daily. He got more mad with that. Toddler was hungry and fussy so I ended up making salad and fried rice for them but I when out for my me time for takeout and I’m pretty sure they are not going to ear what I made anyway since he was mad at me.

Am I the ass for not getting them takeout/going alone when I wanted it as a special treat for me for all I do?
