Hi all! I recently thrifted this string of pearls + set of pearl earrings which I would like to make into nicer jewelry. ((No, the pearls are not high-value. They are farmed freshwater, likely Chinese, the clasp is not any precious metal/has no makers mark))

For info: The necklace has 58 pearls. I want to seperate it into a chocker & bracelet set. The earrings have (to the best I can tell) 6 white, 1 peacock green, & 3 black pearls between them. I really don't have an idea for. I just don't think I want something so long?

I was recommended adding onyx to it as a center stone and using a separation bead 5 pearls out from the center for the chocker/bracelet set. I can see it, but idk if that's my style. I typically wear silver & go for dainty, short jewerly. I know these pearls are larger, but I don't want a chunky style. I also think I would prefer the pearls be the center of attention instead of the accent.

If anyone has amy ideas or styles I should look into for inspiration, I would greatly appreciate it! Tyia 🩷

Hi all! I got these various pearls while thrifting recently.

What I'd like to do is make the 1st earrings & necklace into new jewelry. I typically wear earrings or necklaces. Although, I think shortening the necklace to be a choker & bracelet combo would be nice. I'd like to know your ideas for how you'd repurpose them!

I don't know much about pearls beyond doing some reading online, but the 2nd earring set I had a question about. It was sold with the necklace, but based on the pearl shape & the fact the backings are stamped, I doubt they were originally a set. The necklace clasp doesn't have a stamp nor does it seem to be a precious metal. The backing stamp seems to indicate they were made in Hong Kong and used to be gold plated. My question is: Are they nicer than the necklace pearls? And what would you call their shape?

Someone had it listed for like $4. Gonna call them Citrus (green = lime, yellow = lemon, orange = orange lol)

Bought these off eBay as a blind buy. Super excited because I have attempted to buy 3- YES, 3 -different brooches in the past as blind buys. Literally each one of the sellers either never shipped or shipped to the wrong location so I had to get refunded on them. It was so disheartening. This seller shipped next day & even had them in one of those little mesh baggies and it was green 😭💚 Bless them, they are getting such a positive review from me.

What do we think!? It's a brooch & clip earrings set. I think the inner parts of the flowers & the lighter stones on the earrings could be glowers :3

I got this lovely lady at auction a couple months back. Originally listed as a bride's basket, after some help from the antique sub we determine it is most likely by James Powell & Son of their 'straw opal' design + it's a jelly/nut dish, basically a small serving dish, hence the spoon. The stand & spoon are both old silver. Although there are no maker marks to verify 100%, this is the most likely answer thus far! Combined, this info places this item sometime between 1880s & 1890s. It is the only antique in my glass collection 💚

This lovely lady was hanging off the wall in a grab bag at Savers & I couldn't stop thinking, 'what if someone dropped/knocked her & she shattered' 😭 I bought her to save her 🙏 She's in great condition despite those circumstances; no cracks, chips or scratches! 🎉

From looking online, I believe she's a flat cup & saucer set from the Green Hertiage line by Lefton. It doesn't look like an exact pattern, but I'm not familiar with how that all works. Feel free to correct me if you know more! 🩷

Is this an actual Garne piece? Additionally, even though it's costume, could I take it to any jewelry cleaner or would I need to find someone who knows how to handle vintage to clean it without damaging?

Hello cousins! Coming from the uranium sub as I need your insight 🙇‍♀️ Sooo,,,, I bought this not realizing there were Romanian "Tip" Galle pieces based of the Emile Galle originals. I bought this thinking it to be a Emile Galle Vaseline vase. I am now seeking info about 2 things:

1. Is it possible this is still Vaseline glass??? *please, on god, I need to know if there's even a CHANCE!!* >!I spent $250 on this, if it won't glow, I'm gonna cry!<

2. I noticed in the brief reading once I learned there is a difference that the "Tip" was usually ground off. Does that mean it's significant that the "Tip" remains on this piece?

Murano sormmeso owl figurine I bought as a blind buy at auction!! So thrilled to have such a piece for my collection!!

She was in pretty rough shape. Thankfully most of the scuffs came off! The ones that remain are too tough to get out ((yes, I have used a scrub daddy in the past, didn't find it helped much lol)) Sad she doesn't have a uvula to sing with either. Regardless, very happy to have her home with me ☺️

So, when I went to the National Depression Glass Association's Vintage Decorative & Collectable Glass Show & Sale I saw a GORGEOUS pitcher in the exact style of these- green opalescent striped uranium body with cobalt manganese handles -and she was STUNNING!!.... and also like, $375 🥲 Not cash I had to flash at that time.

Flash forward to about a week or two ago. I'm looking on eBay for a blind buy and BOOM, see these two babies listed, no glow pic! I was like 👀 I just knew they were the same as the pitcher!! Anyways, they're like $195 and I was like "I have to wait it out..." Give it a week from when I've seen 'em, seller drops the price to $150. I think to myself, "Now's the time," offer the seller $100 AND THEY ACCEPT IT!! 🎉

I reeeaaalllyyyyyyy wanted that pitcher y'all. I am so stoked to add these lovely ladies to my collection in place of that. It's also nice to have some matching/set pieces as my collection is otherwise entirely singles 😆
