I make my own sandals.

These sandals I made from paracord and scrap shower pan liner from work. (Plumbers on my jobsite threw out a bunch of thin rubber sheet)

The plastic triangles are 3D printed.

They are thin, cause I need sensory tactile ground feedback.

Looking for any potential guidance on form!

I guess I’m just wondering if there are any issues around overpronation, hip stability, etc. The clips are slowed down, and each clip is as follows:

  1. Easy pace, around 6:30/km - completely relaxed/my “natural” form.

  2. Same easy pace, except consciously engaging my glute medius to turn my legs out a little and reduce pronation. Unsure if I should be doing that or not.

  3. ~Tempo pace, around 5:30/km.

  4. ~Threshold pace, around 4:50/km.

For context:

The running block I’ve been in for the past few months has been my most consistent to-date (previous pattern of doing too much too fast, getting injured, giving up and moving back to hypertrophy training for 6 months, repeat). I’m VERY eager for it to stick this time around. I’ve started to feel some posterior shin splints creep in - which I know is typically caused by overuse or muscle weakness, so I’ve adjusted my training load and begun doing running-focused strength work. If it’s just a matter of sticking to that and being patient, then cool. However, I guess I’m just trying to be cautious and make sure there are no other potential variables at play that I need to account for.

It may also be worth noting that I’m a slightly bigger runner - 100kg, 6ft 3.

Thanks all!!

Love me to my bones

I found this exercise and now my foot control is insane and I finish my marathons ranging from 5-21.1km faster than ever. I do this at public gyms.
