Love sirens, haven't got good enough memory/attention span to learn about them

I really wanna get into sirens I've always found them super cool. But 5 read throughs of different wikepedia pages and countless videos later I still haven't got a clue about anything. I like this one siren that starts with a p and has numbers in it. How can I properly start learning about them?

Short but soul crushingly miserable anime?

Looking for something short with great characters that's utterly miserable. I loved girls last tour, vampire in the garden, I didn't find takopis sin too sad but I loved that too. A doomed love story would be especially appreciated. But anything that'll make me cry and question life is more than enough. SPECIFICALLY ON CRUNCHRYROLL I don't wanna pirate and I can't afford other sites sorry
