How many of you are regularly trying to use AI for creatives etc ie for ads, videos, photos, marketing material etc?

I’m really curious how much folks living and doing ecommerce daily actually leverage ai.

I know some apparel brands where every single image is ai. Others who if you even suggest it go on a tirade about how ai is evil. Such a mix bag

I got pitched an app that seems fairly new via email and just crowdsourcing …

Their claim to fame is supposedly that the app helps optimize long tail keywords by creating optimized collection pages that get fed to chat gpt/claude via google merchant center. They also claim to have a back linking reciprocal network of merchants on pages they create optional.

The idea seems brilliant and I’ve done it in the past on high target keywords but always manually so automating it seems to be a good ideaZ

Anyone else get similar pitch and try it?

I like that they also let me track recommendations for phrases on ChatGPT etc and reporting but I’m at the level ehrrr I’ll need to pay them for one of their highest tiers for a few months if I want to see any Roi at all so a bit hesitant to jump on it :(

I’ve been in ecommerce and media buying for decades now. I mean so long ago that I still sometimes call fb ads “fbx” and probably will never be able to say “meta” lol….

So as an old timer, the whole ai revolution has been really difficult for me. I’ve always been super hands on, and spent years trying to perfect my skills across reporting and creative including trying to learn video editing.

But even me, an old timer set in his ways has come to realize that you either join it or fall behind. So much of my grinding work is now done with various ai tools.

No I don’t think ai should replace us or even can fully… although that remains to be seen. But…

There is no denying that me as an old timer with Ai is levels better than without.

I make it my business now to test new tools I find every 2-3 days not because I have money to piss but because I think every tool is built by some founder who has some idea. While some of them are clearly just ai slop junk, some are often presenting of a nugget or twist that I never thought about.

Recently I’ve been testing one tool and I’m truly blown away. It has basically given me a two way brain that I can dump ideas, data, metrics, creatives etc and it organizes it, learns and improves itself. It generates new creatives and optimizes around it. It posts to organic socials and so much more all in one tool.

Folks, you can see ai as a threat or you can embrace it. I chose to embrace it.

I have no idea if this is just me or it will help others but here I am sharing because I am so sick of everyone gate keeping any good resource. Ultimately if you find it helpful, give it an upvote and let me know what you found helpful.

Tl;dr: you must start A/B testing product images asap.

My product pages (pdp) is some of my most trafficked sites. All my meta ads, google ads, TikTok ads etc all point to product pages.

Like everyone I have a clean studio shot of my candy bars on a clean white background and then a few more photos I designed with canva a few months back.

It got me thinking… I spend so much money on ads, and I am constantly running new creative tests for my ads… why not do the same for my product pages. Why not start testing what image I show customers first as soon as they land on the page.

Of course I still need my clean photos for Google ads (shopping) etc but what if I could also show some users lifestyle photos and see if it improves my revenue per session, add to cart ratio, sell through rate etc.

This idea has been something I’ve been hunting down for 3 months. First I tried apps like Intelligems that are ab testing tools. It worked, but I still had to create the images and that’s where my bottle neck began.

Then 3 weeks ago I found a newish app that uses ai for product images. (I think they cold emailed me but might have been an ad don’t remember )

Yes… I know tons out there and tons of ways to do this. But this was different, they had all the ab testing built in. One product or a whole collection it didn’t matter, and they allowed me to generate 2-4 new images per product and have them rotate based on traffic on a per product basis. That was the unlock!

Now I’m running about 2 weeks in, and the data is super interesting. A few of my products still performed really well with white background, but some did way better with lifestyle humans in it holding the candy bar. Two products did about 10% better with ingredients highlighted.

Overall as I continue digging in I’m seeing that I can keep optimizing my images over and over until I find the best performer for each item.

Bottom line don’t sleep on this, it’s not always about just improving your aov or your CPA but sometimes these little things move the needle enough too!

I’ve tried opening them with VPNs and even warning them by following lots of USA accounts and engaging with USA posters but it only works so so…

This has been a huge burden for me, especially as I try and test viral hooks for products and try and boost overall engagement or pre warm and test ad formats.

Long story short, I’ve been using a tool for ai video and photo generation for a few months now, and the founder emailed out a new feature release literally hitting this issue…

Basically they lend you a phone with pre warmed accounts for TikTok, instagram, and YouTube for a set fee a month. Phone can be in different locations and their platform already supports auto posting from one app across multiple channels etc

I’m scheduled to get my first 3 rented phones on wed so I’ll try and report back! Have any of you ever struggled with this as well?

Outside of Reddit, it seems most of the ecommerce communities are so dead.

Facebook groups used to be super active and now even the best ones are dead and crickets or just flooded with 3rd world spammers.

Don’t even think of LinkedIn that entire place is one huge cesspool.

Honestly, even Reddit and even this sub often feels like I’m talking to ai robots half the time lol

Even some popular slack communities are mostly dead. Where else you all hanging out?

Would love to have more robust conversations with other Ecom operators and owners etc

I’m considering making a free (small amount donation) class to train merchants on how to maximize ai for their Ecom brand/business.

This is not a class for “how to make x amount” or “ai will make you rich” it’s more like step by step small things that ai can handle well for most ecommerce brands with clear and walkthroughs. The kind of stuff that anyone deep in ai would laugh at but the every day Shopify merchant selling x y z is still not even doing because they have zero time to level up their skills while still trying to run their business 24-7.

In my mind, I think so many of us merchants keep hearing hype from everyone including Shopify about how ai is everything and Ai first and Ai this and that.

I’ve been deep in the trenches for the last year and have been testing hundreds of Ai use cases and tools across everything from operations, marketing, design / dev etc.

I don’t want to do this as a money maker for myself, it’s more like I spent 20+ years in ecommerce and as someone 35+ I really appreciate what tech and Ai can do for us today.

So this idea of giving back to the universe is something sitting in my head, and I’m wondering if there would be interest.

Point of reference: I don’t have the course, I didn’t even begin making it and so I have nothing to share or sell or pitch lol I’m literally just gauging interest.

My goal is for it to be 100% free or more likely to eliminate or encourage students to actually participate a mandatory fee that will be given to charity etc.

I’ve been studying drop shipping brands non stop lately and I started to realize that the brands who level up their images and ads are the ones who make it.

Every guru tries to sell the idea of automating everything and grabbing products from ali or other sources with images and content already intact and it’s such a mistake.

Spend the time and make it yours. Make the images look like they were never seen before and make it harder for your content to be tracked back to ali or Amazon or whatever.

I’ve been playing with tools like Claude and visuallift.ai to build out and generate my own emails, videos, product photos using Ai, and of course my own product names and descriptions etc. the different it ultimately makes is night and day.

Even with Shopify the Visuallift app has a Shopify spp so all my products are automatically synced and I can ab test product images as I drive traffic to them and compare what images perform. Claude agents help me constantly improve the key selling points and then I feed that back to improve my ads and images.

Bottom line don’t be lazy. We have zero excuses in 2026 when we have crazy ai tools at our fingers!

I’ve been building a product that began with an internal project that I now think can become something others use.

I was so sick of the pricing of tools like Marpipe and Scioah that I wanted to find a more affordable way that would let me really hone in dpa creatives.

Long story short, a lot of work internally with devs and myself and media buyers resulted in some pretty awesome capabilities with building out ai enhanced creative templates etc for dpa.

But I only have my use cases and so the more folks I can have stress test and find new use cases the better.

Been down a rabbit hole trying to find ways to make ai help with email design especially for platforms like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Shopify email, etc

I think I got a good thing going finally with a few set of tools, and I made a bunch of templates. None of them are brands I have any connection with just random popular brands and some emails are more top of funnel focused and others bottom of funnel.

Sharing for inspiration and feedback.

What I was aiming for was product accuracy, low level of

editing, strong focus on design and brand identity etc

Anyone else also sell on Amazon? Do you create A+ content for each listing or just the key ones?

Been looking at tools for it, and the ones that sort of come up the most is VisualLift, pixii, and a few smaller ones.

I’ve also seen a lot of people claim A+ doesn’t really make that much of a difference but it’s weird because I always rely on it as a customer.

Right now I’m leaning on VisualLift because the first batch of free generations it gave me were really freakin good and I loved that it also gave me the product images in one shot.

But more importantly I am torn if to do it on every item since even with Ai it still gets pretty pricey at scale and if it won’t move the needle much then why am I bothering?!

I’ve been working on a tool mostly for myself that leverages ai for product photos, videos, ads, email and more. In my mind what I’m trying to accomplish is to bring all ecommerce creative into one place where in seconds I can create ads or product images etc

For example apparel on models in multiple poses with near perfect accuracy.

This journey has been one where I discovered a lot of hacks to solve weird issues that most platforms can’t support and I’m trying to validate and find more edge cases.

I was going to just keep using random products I find online, but feels so wasteful. So I thought hey why not ask fellow merchants if they want product photos. I get to test and not waste credits on random apps products and create images no one will ever use… and instead get to find interesting edge use cases that I never would have found on my own.

Anyone run a lot of DPA ads?

I've been building a product platform primarily focused on leveraging AI for Creatives across product images, videos, ugc, email, etc.

I've built a ton of stuff into it, including some amazing capabilities around competitive research, discovery/inspiration etc.

Something that came up a lot in my research and discussions was DPA ads, and the big tools like Marpipe / Socioh etc all allow advertisers to essentially have "enhanced" templates for both video / images.

But as I see it, the videos for most of these tools are super "basic" and are sort of like slide shows with some fancy branding and animation. But certainly not higher end creatives with different levels for upper funnel/lower funnel etc.

So I'm considering adding into my platform the ability to map specific "videos" to products.

So as an idea: Imagine if you have a "Summer Collection" of dresses you launching. You want to leverage the stability of DPA but you want to show:

TOF: Fashion style videos
MOF: Unboxing style videos
BOF: UGC

You have for each product 3 videos that fit, and now just need to map those to the products and push them in a feed to meta.

Of course this isn't something easy for 20k products, but for 500 items with "ai" assistance, I'd imagine mapping wouldn't be that difficult.

The big platforms don’t offer this because they really are marketed as just feed/shopping template enhancers rather than a creative hub which is what I have been building, and more specifically for ecommerce. So for me it makes sense that the platform can manage so much since all the creatives already live there.

The question I guess I have here is

A) Is this something as advertisers you'd find powerful and helpful?

B) Are DPA ads generally performing well enough compared to standard ad formats that it is worth the time it takes to map 500 products in a platform?

My thesis is that the benefit of having budget to product distribution being more smooth is probably worth the effort... but that's where y'all come in lol
