Hope this helps

If I sleep in prone position, and the quadriceps are compressed by the mattress, the chances to activate RLS are noticeably lower. If I try to sleep on my back, 100% RLS activation after maybe 15 minutes and the only way to stop that is to get up and walk 8/10 minutes in the house.

Also a question, anyone is able to activate RLS simply scratching particular areas of the foot with the nails? I can 🙄

Please name 2 or 3 supplements to counter daily contractures and build a routine to not only deal with symptoms

I think I have myofascial pain syndrome or something similar because literally everyday I get muscles contractures and I have pain moving myself around and doing basic things like walking and everything involving a movement (arms, legs, head..). Primarily low back, glutes, neck, trapezius, shoulders, and intercostal muscles.

I already take magnesium bysglicinate (300/400 mg) daily since 1 month and I think it helps a bit but not that much.

Anyone knows some others that can help please? 🙏🏻🙏🏻

If someone dealt with something similar, can please share what worked for you? Thanks

How to deal with a person that really gave you problems?

One person created really big issues to my life and also "cheated" on me as friends. A lot of broken promises that really put me in dangerous situations.

What to do when I will meet him again?

I want to just ignore him but I am not sure what to do if he will say hi and start talking to me.

I just don't want to waste my mental energy for him so my idea is to act as he is not there and not look at him nor reply to him.

What Buddha says is best to do in these situations?

Thanks 🙏🏻

Which area along ARL after Makkasan direction BKK for 2 nights?

Which ARL stop do you friends suggest to book a hotel for 2 nights, if you need to stay near ARL, direction Suvarnabhumi, after Makkasan? A stop with nearby a classic Thai night market or something nice would be very good.

Thanks for help 🙏🏻

Laid off at 51. Thinking to study massage and completely change my job

Hello, I M51 was recently laid off. I am a single father and I still need to support my daughter at college. There is not much I can do about this lay off so, since I could use my (little) saving for a few months, am evaluating to change job completely because I realized I hate my job.

I ask to you guys if it could be realistic to start learning massage art at my age and make it a permanent job. I think I could be good at it but I am a bit scared about how getting hired or if I would like to open a personal company, how to get clients and other aspects.

Anyone can please give me suggestions and insights?

Thanks 🙏🏻

How do you deal with spontaneous angry reactions?

I think I often have empathy for other people and animals but I don't know which is the better way to deal with this kind of situation:

For example I am in a public space and people bump into me without making the slightest effort to avoid it or in public space people keep their smartphone volume very high disturbing everyone or when people are late at an appointment and few others.

Automatically I get angry, I ask myself why they should act this way, why they don't respect me/other people? After the initial spontaneous reaction, I try to elaborate and tell myself that it is not a big deal and a few other thoughts aimed to relax and just keep going.

Is it very wrong? How can I get rid of this reaction, if possible? How do you deal with that and what Buddhism says in that regard?

Thanks 🙏🏻

Current best practices help

Hello guys, I used to use WordPress like more 20 years ago. I remember the main headache areas were themes and plugin vulnerabilities, consistent backup and restore procedures, caching content to speed up the website.

I kindly ask if there are somewhere updated and current 360° best practices to take a look at and start creating a website.

Also, do you know by any chance if it is possible to use Sqlite as DB? Would it be a dream to have only files and no complex mysql/mariadb installation and thelike.

Finally, can you please share which plugins are the standard to create custom user sections based on some role level and to integrate membership with Google Account and others?

Thank you very much 🙏🏻

No social safety net. A 22 daughter to support at college for at least 2 years and everything else (I am divorced, she lives with me), house mortgage still 6 years left.

Anyone please can take a look if these symptoms can be alleviated treating vagus nerve please ?

I don't know if it is allowed to share my whole story here so I just put a link to chronic pain subreddit with my recent post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChronicPain/comments/1ufv4me/seeking_help_i_really_dont_know_what_to_do/

Do you think my situation is related, even if a little bit, with vagus nerve ? I just tried 2 times to do the basic exercise of Stanley Rosenberg but honestly the pain in my neck when I turn left is still there .. maybe a little bit better but honestly no huge results like I read everywhere.

Thanks for help

Seeking help, I really don't know what to do

TLDR;

For about 15/20 years I have had intermittent, apparently inexplicable pain in various parts of my body. I have never been able to figure out what the problem is, after dozens of doctor's visits, exams, therapies, and medications. I am exasperated and overwhelmed.

Hello everyone, I am writing here hoping that someone might somehow relate, even partially, to what I am writing and my feelings, and therefore help me or share their own story.

I'll say right away that I don't know if mine is chronic pain, but it certainly makes my life impossible.

Almost every day, when I get out of bed, I never know what to expect. Getting up is always a surprise because 9 times out of 10 I have discomfort/pain/a stabbing sensation/feel pierced somewhere in my body: my cervical spine, shoulders, neck, upper back, lower back, and more rarely my pelvic floor, abductors, ankle, or the left side of my skull near the ear. I also often feel a burning sensation and tension in the painful area. Sometimes the pan is near the surface, sometimes it is more deep.

I should point out that my pain is triggered ONLY when I make a movement (except for the pain on the left side of my skull, which is piercing and lasts for 3 days, but is rare). If I stay completely still on the bed or sofa, the pain stops. But at the first muscle contraction, even just to lift my head, the pain is immediately there.

I should also note that if I take NSAIDs (Diclofenac Potassium works very well for me), the situation always improves, and it improves significantly.

I've had all sorts of medical exams and blood tests, even looking for autoimmune diseases, but found nothing to explain this behavior of my body.

If 1 time out of 10 I am lucky enough to get out of bed without pain, at the first wrong movement, believe me, a completely normal movement, I feel something like a small tear/strain/contracture that brings me right back to square one, which is the inability to make trivial, everyday movements without feeling pain. Walking, turning my body left and right, bending down to tie my shoes, looking up at the sky, carrying grocery bags, bending to sit in the car seat, and much more, like tilting my head from the monitor to the keyboard and vice versa.

Furthermore, when I have pain in one or more spots (sometimes simultaneously), I tend to compensate with my body using the non-painful areas, and after a very, very short time, the pain is triggered on that side too. I realize perfectly well that if one spot hurts, I tend to "immobilize" the surrounding muscular structures to give relief to the painful part, but in doing so, the structures I immobilize end up hurting themselves, setting off an endless vicious cycle.

I've tried doing gentle gymnastics, taking electrolytes, doing breathing exercises, gentle massages, heat, cold, light walking, light stationary biking, etc., but I never reach a solution or at least figure out what the hell is wrong with my body.

I believe my pain is of a muscular/neuromuscular type. I also have the impression that my body feels pain even when the stimulus doesn't justify it. It's as if the pain signal is a 1 and I perceive it as a 100. I am an anxious person and perhaps I tend to contract my body involuntarily and without realizing it... I really don't know what to think.

I also have restless legs syndrome, which occurs with a frequency of 25%/30%.

I'll add that my maternal grandfather had Parkinson's disease, if that helps.

I have noticed that on the occasions I have consumed a fair amount of alcohol, the pain almost disappears, and this lasts for a day and a half to two days, then it returns.

If what I have written resonates with anyone, please help me.

A hug to all those who suffer.

Which are the "equivalent" of Thailand and Cambodia in South America?

I (51M) am in Thailand right now but I gladly evaluate a new fresh location for maybe 1 or 2 years. Any suggestion?

In this order:

  1. Cost of life
  2. Safety
  3. Girls genuinely open to dating and not west entitled

I can learn Spanish pretty quickly if that can make a difference

Oh, AMA about 🇹🇭 if you want to know something.

Thank you guys

Driver suggestions?

Hello guys, anyone can recommend a good and honest driver that can drive 3 people around? Possibly the whole day or half day, depending on the schedule. Bonus if the driver can speak a bit of English.

How much money should I expect to pay, for example to do Doi Suthep and Wat Phra Lat?

Any help much appreciated, ty🙏🏻

Trying to disable or harden Tailscale default Windows Firewall rules is overwritten upon restart

Hello,

I am setting up a Windows Server that will be connected to a network exposed to the Internet, so it will be configured with a public static IP address in the network properties of Windows.

I want to configure it to only accept inbound connections on tcp/22 port and so did I in the Windows firewall, disabling everything else, included Tailscale (I used Tailscale to make some tasks during the setup but I don't need it now, maybe in a few weeks).

I restarted the server but I noticed that rules are still enabled.

I then tried to harden them, limiting the remote ip addresses only to the ones of my tailscale subnet, but upon restart, no matter what I do, the rules are always brand new.

There are 3 rules:

  1. Tailscale.In (ipv4):
    port: any
    protocol: any
    scope:
local ip address: tailscale ipv4 ip address of the machine
    remote ip: any

  2. Tailscale.In (ipv6):
    port: any
    protocol: any
    scope:
local ip address: tailscale ipv6 ip address of the machine
    remote ip: any

  3. Tailscale-process:
    port: any
    protocol: UDP
scope: any local IP, any remote IP
    program: tailscaled.exe

I think that in my scenario, these 3 rules are really dangerous, in particular the last one and I wanted to harden them but I cannot.

Any help on what to do please ? I could uninstall tailscale sure but why ? I need to use it sometimes.

Thanks for help

Listening to audio, first in English and then in Thai resources.

I like the idea of comprehensible input but I don't have time to sit and watch YouTube videos. So I think it could be useful to listen to English sentences immediately followed by the Thai equivalent so I can try to memorize them and the meaning.

This way I can listen while I do other things like eat, walk, run and so on. Do resources like that exist?
