Questions for the SAs: Is there a “game” or a usual script you have to use with your customers?

This past weekend I was shopping at the LV Paris flagship store - no appt and went in the morning and had no problem getting in. I did a lap first and then went to the host near the door and asked if I could see a few bags he said sure no problem just give me a moment and someone will come find you. Within 5 minutes I had a very young male associate assigned to me. I knew exactly what I wanted going in and didn’t plan to spend a long time there because I just wanted to pop in and pop out. I asked the SA if I could see the Pochette Accessoires bag. And he said there are many pochettes…..let’s see. We walk to a counter and start looking at bags and he slowly pulls out these in this order

- pochette Felicie
- pochette Liv
- wallet on chain ivy
- wallet on chain ivy 2 color

For each I knew it wasn’t the bag I wanted but still looked at it tried it on etc and explained, I don’t love the button, I don’t love the only crossbody, I like how this is magnetic but I would prefer a zip, I like how this is zipped but not flat on the bottom…..anything to get to the accesoires I originally was looking for. Between each he said hmmmm let me see if I have something else and kept returning to the same drawer and pulling these out. I finally pulled up the bag on their website and said I was looking for something like this. He said hmmm let me see I’m not sure if we have something like that. And then looks at his phone and and says oh it looks like we might have only 3 left. Returns to the SAME drawer and pulls this damn bag out finally!

Anyway I was very very kind the whole time but pretty concise on my feedback and what I was looking for, liked didn’t like.

Is there a game? It felt like we were playing cat and mouse - also some of the bags like the felicie felt really low quality in the material. Or was the bag I was asking for more reserved? Or was it me? Genuinely curious as it was the first time buying in person and interacting with a luxury SA. Thanks!

My lifelong best friend has struggled with anorexia/ED since she was a young teenager. Hyperfixating only eating certain foods and then exercising for hours at the gym plus running. This was on and off over phases of her life and recently started running again. She goes to the gym, plus runs everyday. She’s saying no to tons of food she would previously eat and dropped a TON of weight. She’s starting to get skinny like she was at some of her worst moments. Jaw bones sticking out, collar bones pertruding, super skinny. Her sister and I spoke and are concerned again - how should we approach this with her? We’re equally very open and honest and pick on one another. If it were you how do you wish your sisters handled it or said to you to pull you out?
