My first Lee Enfield

I joined the Lee Enfield family.

1947 Lee Enfield No 5. MK1 Jungle Carbine manufactured by ROF Fazakerly. Has matching numbers, the butt plate is original, the bore and trigger are excellent, and I believe the original factory Suncorite (not refinished). Looking forward to a trip to the range.

Smith & Wesson Model 3 Americal (oil hole)

I picked up an interesting early Smith & Wesson Model 3 American, serial number 230 a while back, been sitting in my gun safe. Its definitely a working survivor rather than a high-condition collector piece, but with a lot of honest character. The barrel was shortened to approximately 5" long ago and the front sight repositioned, but the patina and wear all appear period and consistent throughout.

I finally decided to send it to a Master Gunsmith for mechanical repair. I got it back today.

The Gunsmith was able to repair and fabricate several internal components, restore timing, and return the gun to functional condition while preserving its original appearance and surface character.

The removed original parts and repair documentation were retained with the revolver. I also have a factory letter from Smith & Wesson pending, which should be interesting given the very low serial number.

I am always fascinated by these early frontier-era guns that clearly lived a real working life, and now its mechanically restored to full functionality.

1939 Colt 1911A1 38 Super

Has the Schwartz Safety System, a great addition to my heavy hitters of the collection. I have an excellent long term relationship with my LGS, got a screaming deal on this pistol, its good to go shopping right before the end of their fiscal year and they want to clear some inventory off the books...

Took the 1951 S&W Terrier out to the range. 5 shot I Frame, 38 Smith & Wesson. Shoots really well, a nice little summertime pocket pistol.

The little brother of the Model 1886, quite a heavy hitter as well, only rifle built for the 348 WCF round. I haven't shot it yet, hopefully soon. The bore is excellent and the action locks up tight.

Jim took good care of the rifle.

Not as pretty as my 1886, but Ive had an affinity for Saddle Ring carbines. I had one of the early 2000's in thCarbine. 45 Long Colt and it was a POS with the stamped parts, etc. Had to send it in for repairs for a broken linkage pin. I got rid of it a couple of years ago. Im happy to add a vintage Model 94 into the collection!

I generally stick with American firearms, but I couldn't pass up this Nambu. It was a WWII bring back/trophy and I have the documentation letter. This is a January 1937 manufacture, brought back on the USS Belleau Wood (CVL-24) in 1945.

1884 Trapdoor, the case hardening is amazing, great cartouches and a rod bayonet. Looks like she went from Springfield Armory after upgrades into storage somewhere. I need to give her a whirl at the rifle range with some Trapdoor safe ammo.

After admiring this from afar this past year or so, I finally made the deal with my LGS and came home with this beauty, an unfired First Gen ( Manufactured 1937), 45 Colt with Sambar grips. I traded in a 2nd Gen unfired (1971) with standard black grips, also 7 1/2 " 45 Colt, a new unfired Canik and some cash. The owner of my LGS has been in business over 60 years, he's an encyclopedia of knowledge. He said this was the nicest 1st Gen he's had in the shop. I spend a lot of money this past year in that store, Ive always gotten a great deal. Yes she will be a safe queen

One heck of a plinker! Had a couple of these on the ship when I was in the navy used for training. Our Navy Aces weren't as pretty as this one...that's for sure
