Can anyone tell me about this Python?
Can anyone tell me roughly the value of this Colt? My father-in-law passed, and we know it wasn't serviced or fired in the last 25 years. I don't want to get ripped off by going into a local store.

OK, my friend's widow asked me to come over and look at some of his collection to get values. He had a brand new in box 1978. What should I tell her to ask for it and where would I get her the most money? She has no income, so I'm trying to help her out.
My first revolver! always wanted to own a python and fell in love with the blued look finally found one and had to have it!
Greetings all, recently inherited this colt SAA. I’m missing two screws, I was wondering if there’s anywhere to find spare parts? I’ve already looked and have came up with nothing.
Colt Combat Unit Officer Model
I think Vincent Hanna would carry this
What say ya’ll. FYI, I adore this pistol
Does anyone know where i can find this exact same grip on this Anaconda? I dont think that this is Altamont made because I was in their website and they didn't have it.
At my local gun shop today I found a number matching 45LC Colt first gen with its factory letter for $1500. I plan on loading some black powder rounds for it and having a blast. Lockup on every cylinder is perfect. It's marked U.S. which it's letter verifies. I'm leaning toward it being a cavalry model.
Over 5 years of looking for a new 1911 Colt Rail Gun (45acp), I have yet to see any in stock both online and in stores. Colt’s website still lists it. What gives?
I’ve had the gun wiki search and setup an alert over the past 5 years too.
Looking at a safariland holster but I keep getting mixed answers on this
Recently acquired this 1903 and I’ve been going back and forth on which direction to take it. Leave it as-is? Get it some original grips? Go for a full restoration? Not sure yet if it’s safe to shoot, but I’d like to shoot it eventually. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I recently bit the bullet and started my 1911 journey. I purchased a Defender for my edc. I’m knowledgeable enough to know not to put it into rotation until I’ve thrown a few hundred rounds down range. Here’s where the problem lies. I have had so many issues with this gun that I’m to the point of regretting my decision. From failure to seat, failure to feed, stovepipe, the bushing is stripped after just about 200 rounds. Sent to colt to have worked on and basically only fixed the stripped. I’m giving it one more chance and sending it to a professional gunsmith to have it worked on. Anyone else had these issues? I really want to love this gun.
Picked this up at the same time as my Colt 1903. Overall it’s in really nice shape, but the ejector rod has some fairly significant rust.
A few questions for those of you with more experience restoring nickel-finished firearms:
Would you replace the ejector rod outright, or try to clean and preserve the original?
The nickel still has a decent shine but definitely shows its age. Would you leave it alone, give it a gentle polish, or is the risk of thinning the nickel not worth it?
I’m also pretty disappointed by the screwdriver marks around the screws. I assume there’s not much that can be done about those without completely refinishing the gun, but I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.
I’d appreciate hearing how you would approach preserving it.
Feel free to share any history that there is to know about this gun as well!
Local seller, claims it’s a 1939. Is there anything that is out of the ordinary, or anything I should be looking for/at? The sights don’t look right, but other than that I can’t tell. Seems like a good price ($750) but I wanted to check with folks more knowledgeable than me.
I’m waiting on S&W 686+ Deluxe to come in at my lgs (ordered last week) and I came upon this. She’s a beauty. The owner of the store is retiring and everything is discounted. I’m still waiting for the S&W but came home with a Colt King Cobra .22lr. This is my first Colt. I guess you can never have too many lol
