Mysore Dassara 2026

Mysore dassara festivities is 5-month-away. Karnataka Government & MUDA collectively contribute approximately 50 lakh, while private & corporate sponsors contribute around 5 crore in total.

During the 15–20 day dassara season, Mysore receives about 40 lakh tourists, of which about 5 lakh alone come to view the jamboo savari. 40 lakh people spending money in Mysore in 15 days is huge.

What business could I start with 5-10 lakhs for 15 days and make 50k–1 lakh a day this year?

Did Bengalureans begin to spend less?

After working nonstop for a month, I need a big break, so I thought about spending the weekend outside home.

I went to a pub yesterday evening, which is usually packed, but many of the tables were empty yesterday..

I went to a well-known breakfast restaurant this morning, earlier on Sunday, it was packed with cars parked on both sides of the road and had to wait for long time in que for the table. Today, there were fewer cars/bikes in front of the restaurant, fewer occupied tables, and less people waiting in que for parcels..

Even at lunch at 1.30 pm, the normal restaurant, which was previously bustling, had a much smaller crowd, and the Zomato guys were also less to collect orders.

Moreover there is no extended weekend during which people leave out of Bengaluru, nor there a marriage season. Even the weather was suitable for going outside.

Do you truly believe that Bangaloreans started cutting back on their spending recently? Most of the cafes seems to be empty.. Instead of going to expensive pubs are they drinking at home?

Is this a sign of declining business in Bengaluru, where it will ultimately lead? Do you feel the same way that I did today?

Bangalore to Male Mahadeshwara Hills - Is shortcut available?

I plan to drive from Bengaluru to Male mahadeshara Hills on Saturday & Sunday..

Please refer to the Screenshot of Google Map.

The map shows that I must pass via many towns, including Halaguru, Malavalli, Kollegala, & Hanur taking a big circle, on my way from Kanakapura to MM Hills..

Can't I just go straight from Kanakapura to MM Hills instead of making a long circle of all these towns?

Tell me about some of Kannur's best Pork restaurants.

Is there a Coorg-style pork restaurant in Kannur? I feel like having nice pork and beer in the evening. If the food is good, I wouldn't mind driving to Thalassery or Mahe.

Kannur's worst 10 years.

we have an international airport & opportunities to become a prosperous city in North Kerala..

Infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, education, and & welfare projects were not developed by the last government even the CM being from Kannur.

Is Kannur is going to be the South India's proffered tourist hotspot with many beaches and old temples. Even though Kannur is the nearest beach to Bangalore & Mahe has the cheapest liquor, most Bangaloreans still choose to tavel Chennai or Pondicherry to see the sea.

Will Kannur people stop visiting Mangalore Airport, Mangalore Hospitals, and Mangalore College, and we create good infrastructure here.

Even for teaching & clerical jobs, Kannur guys travel to Mangalore, Mysore, Bangalore, and other cities. Will Kannur receive investment and employment created at kannur itself?

Will Pinnu's exit bring an end to Kannur's worst 10years, & will kannur experience significant growth in the 5 five years?

Mysuru City Corporation installs mirror-like steel sheets to curb public urination, sees 90% drop | Mysuru News

Instead of this drama, high-tech public restrooms should be constructed with efficiency & hygienic considerations..

Currently Mysore Bus Stand has a filthy stinking washroom, and the guys charge Rs. 5 for urinals, inspite of a board stating that urinals are free.

Finally, a 150-acre Varuna lake the size of Karanji, Kukkerahalli, and Lingambudi Lake has been restored in Mysore..

The main duty of the MDA is to cancel the registration of illegal layouts surrounding the lake from which sewage flows into the lake.. There must be harsh penalties for sewage inflow into any of the lakes.

Has anyone contacted you about investing in the Astra Gold scheme, where you can win cars, bikes, apartments, and several other gifts each month?

Even the wealthiest jewelers in Mangalore can't compete with the amount of money Astra Gold spends on gifts..

If the Astra Gold spends the monthly installments paid by customers on gifts, how will people get their money/gold back at the end of the scheme?

Have you invested in this scheme based on the advice of greedy friends & relatives? Were you unable to say no to them. Do you smell fraud in this scheme as I do?

I am 45 years old & left my corporate job to work on a 2-acre farm which i purchased about 200 km from Bangalore. I need an extra income for survival, and I have lots & lots of free time..

A big village around 6 restaurants, 6 wine shops, 1 dozen fertilizer stores, 3 filthy lodges, 2 Hospitals, 1 Government college, 2 schools, several tea, bakeries & juice shops is located 8 kms from my farm. The main city is 35 km away from this Village..

I Plan to start a fertilizer franchise similar to Gromor. Please advise me if you have any experience with fertilizer or any other business in the village that i could start within 5 Lakhs on a rented premises.

I need your opinion on this poster, which I came upon while scrolling through Instagram..

This is a 120-acre farmstay project with 10,000 sqft plots. They are also selling 600 sqft plots with 200 sqft houses for 10 lakhs which is DTCP approved in the outskirts of mysore.

Their website also states that they provide amenities such as a clubhouse, pool and a children's play area. I saw this while zooming in on Google Maps. also they provide 20 acres of free space for senior citizens as per thier website. The location of this project is around 30 kilometers from Mysore, on the outskirts off Najangud Ooty road.

Is it smart investment to use it as a secret house without knowledge of my wife & kids, to party with friends and freeload on the amenities given by the project in 10lakhs?

They opposed and halted a zipline project at Karanji Lake that was environmentally friendly.

Now development of Varuna Lake, for which funds have been approved, is currently halted due to protest.

Once lake development is halted, the lake land is encroached, sewage is released into the lake, birds & fish perish. The best examples are Ennehole Lake and Dalvoy Lake in mysore..

Many lakes in Bangalore have been converted into stadiums, bustands, and layouts as a result of nasty protests of gedde guys against development.

If the lakes are developed, we may take our children for evening walks and playing during the summer vacation. Is it possible to take children to Dalvoy Lake or Ennehole Lake, which stinks?

These ---- maklu never protest against what is necessary and some worthless jacks back protesters without considering its implications.

I have approximately 1.5 acres of ancestral land in Panyathaparambha., I travel to Kerala every year and spend just 1 day at Kannur visiting relatives..

According to Google Maps, Panayathamparamba is about 10 kilometers away from Kannur International Airport. Satellite images suggest that this area is not developed..

There is no proper road access for 4 wheelers on the property.. Brokers and people around quote a maximum of 1.25 to 1.5 lakh per cent..

Land surrounding domestic airports is worth gold in other cities across India; land around international airports is worthless in Kannur..

Are there any chances that Kannur will improve & prices surrounding the airport would rise in 2-3 years max?

I see many posts in this community about people desire to relocate to Ooty, and I am one of them..

I am from Bangalore. Many of my former colleagues & bosses have already purchased land around the hills of Ooty, coonoor and Kodaikanal and began staying there.

Currently, there are several sponsored ads popping up in my mobile offering plots and land for sale at competitive prices in Ooty.. From other responses I came to know that approval is required to construct a home on my farm & that 1000's of applications have been pending for years for construction approval.

I want to know after a person moved to ooty from bangalore how they are doing, if they're happy with the move.. i want to know challenges of living in Ooty which include infrastructure, network coverage, water shortage, electricity shortage, cost of living, transportation, lack of essential services etc etc..

Thank you for sharing your experiences.
