WHat do you think of self-care apps?

I’ve been trying to stick to a solid self-care routine lately, and a few people recommended using gamified apps.

I started with Finch (the little bird app) since everyone on here seems to love it, but honestly it felt a bit too cute. I dropped it after a few days.

I tried after that habitica, seemed cool first but too messy and lack of guidance.

Lately I’ve been testing one called Kubbo where you basically build an empire as you complete your daily habits. I’m finding the city-building element way more motivating than caring for a pet, but I’m wondering how long the novelty actually lasts.

Do you also tried those self-care habits apps?

I used to play video games for 10 hours a day then stopped completely

I was addicted to video games.
Playing every day for 10 hours and going to sleep when everyone wake up.
But one day I woke up and started and decided this had to stop. I wanted to play the real life game.

I decided to stop playing completely.
To replace this I subscribe to the gym and comited myself to get there everyday.
Was hard. But I completely replaced everything.
Empty moment was now dedicated to reading or taking care of people I love.
In the end doing the hard thing rewarded me more than all those games.

I slowly got back confidence. Built a better shape.
THen mind changed with it. 6 month later I found a job.
For 6 years I never missed a single day. Always going to the gym.

That single habit changed my life.
And I believe this was because I had a goal.

Today from these learning I made an app called kubbo
I think we can use game mechanics to push people following their habits.
The all app is : your habits build an empire.

Hope this can help others

Kubbo: Your Habits Build An Empire

Habits are hard to keep. Tracking isn't enough for many people.
They need to see progress before they quit. That's why kubbo let you build a medieval city from your habits. You just give the little motivation your brain needed to keep going until changes are visible in real life

New: you can now active the proof mode. Each time you complete a task you need to take a picture as a proof you really made the task or habit.

Compared to Finch or Habitica, Kubbo provides a way more advanced gamification system. And focus more on studies to educate you on how to create habits 1 by 1.
While finch push you with 5 new habits directly. Kubbo teach you how to adopt one then even without the app you will know better how to do it in the future.

Price is $49.99 for annual with a lifetime offer ($69.99) in USA
(Price depends of your country. Localized with a parity pricing depending of where you are)

Hi Makers

I worked for nearly a year now on a game to help you build habits.

The idea is simple
- each time you complete a daily habit you earn gold and some resources
- the more consistent you are the more resources you get

Then you can go into your city and start building
You will get tons of missions and unlock building as you grow

I'm actively working on the app everyday !

To try it 👇

- Android app link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.apparence.dailywin

Happy to hear any feedback or ideas from fellow habits gamers!

Localize your App Store prices in 175 countries automatically

https://preview.redd.it/xoodc8vh6sah1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=59168bb26afb216ecbd35ff2ff11dcc3da5fbec0

One of the best ways to increase revenue is testing prices.

So each time I change a price, I log the changes in a spreadsheet.

But it takes time. Most of the time I don’t log every country. Only the ones I focus on.

And so I lose money.

Because there are 175 countries. Each has its own currency, its own VAT, its own purchasing power.

The latest Adapty report shows that localized prices can increase your revenue by 20–50%. Most indies I know either spend hours on it or just accept losing 30–40% of their international revenue.

You can’t charge $9.99 in India and expect the same conversion as in the US.

That's why I built ParityAppKit

A standalone macOS app to manage all your apps subscription and prices.
Everything stays on your mac.

Key features

ParityAppKit does one thing well. Set the right price in every country without the spreadsheet dance. Here’s what’s inside.

🌍 Sync prices for all 175 countries. Every App Store territory Apple supports. Even the 20+ countries that don’t use USD, EUR, or GBP.

⚖️ Automatic purchasing power parity. The price shown in India, Brazil, or Turkey is calibrated to local buying power.

🧾 Tax-inclusive display prices. In Europe, the display price includes VAT. In the US it doesn’t. Apple’s tiers try to handle it but the reality is messy.

⏪ Version history and rollback. Every push is saved locally. Compare pricing snapshots over time. Roll back to any previous state in one click.

🎯 Manual overrides per country. Want a specific price in one country? Override the computed price. ParityAppKit respects it on future pushes. Reset to the computed price any time.

💳 Paid apps, IAP, and subscriptions. Same workflow for all. Multi-tier subscriptions get side-by-side comparison. See Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime prices across countries at a glance.

🔒 Local-first. Private by design. No account. No server. Your API key stays in the macOS Keychain. Nothing about your pricing ever leaves your Mac.

🧐 Flutter tips - blending colors

When designers give you a color with an alpha channel (like yellow with 30% opacity), its final look completely depends on what's underneath it.

‎Kubbo - an habit tracker that live in your camera notch

kubbo was first an iOS app that gamify tracking your daily habit
But now it's also synchronized within a macos app

Each habit reward you with gold
That you can use to grow a city.
The city keeps you motivated while you see your progress.

Key features:

  • Lives in the notch area (always visible, never in the way)
  • Real-time sync with iPhone app
  • Track habits without opening an app
  • A unique city builder
  • Minimal and clean design

I built this because I kept forgetting to check my habit tracker.
Having it always visible in the notch solved that problem for me.
