How soon to ask for a meet up

For those who are on dating apps/actively looking for serious relationships, how soon do you ask someone for an in-person first meet up? I am not asking those who are looking for ONS, NSA or whatever you call it these days. This questions is specifically for those who are dating with intention and naghahanap serious relationship and wants to get to know more about the person.

I want to get some insights from the 40s population. We all know na at this age, marami na tayong responsibilities- work, kids, parents to take care at iba pang commitments. How soon is too soon? Too early or too late?

Edit to add & for context: my experience dating with our kalahi was when I was in my late 20s, (talk & text pa lang, analog pa). It was a different time. In my 30s/40s, ibang lahi na since I'm not in PH. Also, different time with soc med and apps. I'm just interested to know how dating has evolve in our culture and to what extent. People will say, "when in Rome, live like the Roman's do". Well, in some cases, there are certain values that stays with us, na kahit ano ka pa katagal sa ibang bansa, mananatili talaga yan within you.

Changes in your senses after 40?

I noticed a few years ago(early 40s) na there are some food that I normally eat, is nagiging sensitive ako sa amoy and also the after taste. For example, is the manok inasal. I don't know what happened, but now, parang nalalansahan talaga ako. Another is the isda. I can eat it, but after, I get nauseous. I was never like this. I am not a picky eater.

I noticed this change too with my mom(80yo), but when she was in her 70s.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or, what else do you notice changed in your 40s?

Who should pay?

I read somewhere na dating nowadays is getting costly and expensive, especially for the men. In fact, some think that they use dating to get free meals.

When it comes to modern dating over forty, sino ang dapat magbabayad?

A) always ang lalaki

B) kung sino ang nag-ask

C) KKB

Dietary changes in your 40s for healthy living.

Alam naman natin na we like our rice and ulam. At this age, nagstastart na ang mga high BP, elevated blood sugar and so on.

Personally, I(47f) believe that I'm healthy (or baka denial lang ako). So far, wala pang hypertension, heart disease, etc., considering that it is in the family history.

When I was 45, I started cutting off sugar. This was easy for me kasi hindi naman ako mahilig talaga sa matatamis na pagkain. This year, I lessen my carb intake- bread and rice. It took me a whole week to adjust kasi rice for me is associated with comfort and i love beef pasta casserole (that I can eat everyday). I rarely drink sodas/ sweet drinks anymore.. I use oatmilk/ almond milk for my tea na, instead of whole milk. I'm doing this to keep my body "healthy', not for weight loss or keep the weight off per se.

How about you? What did you cut off from your daily diet?

* I know that by being healthy should involve exercise and diet. In this post, im just asking the about food intake.

Music genre preference as time goes by

Anyone here whose music genre preference has changed as they grow older?

I noticed mine did over time and became more varied. Lately, I'd been listening to RnB, EDM, KPop(P1Harmony), just to name a few..

How about you, what is in your lists? I mainly listen from Spotify.

Do you still want to get married at this age?

Kultura natin is mag-asawa ng maaga, have kids and grow old together. Unfortunately, I(47f) am not so lucky. My last relationship was many moons ago. The last time I went out on a date was 2023, using OLD apps, and since then , wala na kasi I travel for work, so impossible talaga. Besides, I date with intention and not into casual dating..

TBH, I have no desire to get married, kasi at this age, ayaw ko ng magka-anak. For me kasi, synonymous ang marriage and having kids. Am I the only one na ganito ang pananaw when it comes tonrelationship? I still want to be in a LTR with someone but wala na ang kasalan.

Who else love discovering artists from kdramas OSTs?

I have been watching a lot of korean romantic comedies for the past weeks, and when i say watch, I binge in an unhealthly way. What I discovered is the OST of these series and eventhough I don't understand the words I love them. The latest discovery is from the Spice Up Our Love-A World For Us by Lee Sang Yi, the ML of this series.

Anyone else like me?

What is your personal opinion about the Chinese/ korean version of some TV series?

I'd been watching a lot of Korean and Chinese dramas and I noticed there some TV series has both versions. For example, Secret Garden and You are my Destiny/Fated to Love. Don't get me wrong, I like both versions but I noticed that the Korean versions seemed to drag the series and there are a lot of flashback with the same scenarios. With the Chinese version, I noticed that they tend to do shortcuts, which leads lack of context?

Thoughts?
