Found this beauty at a dumpster
Is it worth saving and this a good CRT monitor for a PC? I plugged it in and it displays the picture and the settings menu. Tomorrow I'll go get an HDMI-to-VGA adapter and test it by connecting it to my computer.

Is it normal that at 450 cycles the battery health is already 91%?
Hello again guys. Is it normal for the CPU on M4 mini to heat up to 90-93 degrees celsius (194-199 F) when running a really heavy program or game?
Has anyone played this game on this configuration? Does it run well? What graphics settings should I choose? My display is a regular Full HD 1980x1050.
I got this thing (Transcend ESD310C) with a 1 TB of storage. It has good speeds, around 1000 MB/s for reading and writing.
What are the pitfalls of using it with a M4 Mac Mini as additional storage for large apps, games, and files?
I used the M1 Mac Mini 256GB very sparingly, simply as a secondary computer. I checked the SSD health and it showed 4 percent used while writing 49,731 terabytes. Just doing a simple calculation, would that mean I'd need to write 1243 terabytes to use up 100 percent of the health? There could be a bug somewhere, or the program is misleading. But if true, then approximately 1243 terabytes is a very substantial resource, comparable to enterprise server SSDs.
I'm not very technical, sorry. I decided to update the OS (yes, I have a strong obsession with keeping everything on the latest version) on my very old Mikrotik, and it complains that it doesn't have enough storage, just a little bit. It doesn't have any special settings or anything extra; I just use it as a home router for wired internet and Wi-Fi.
I tried resetting it to factory defaults, but it didn't help either.
Is there a way to fix this, or should I go get a new one?
Honestly even with mundane everyday tasks I feel like everything on the M4 just flies and VERY snappy. Even my M1 wasn't this fast when I first bought it in December 2021. The funny thing is that my computer turns on faster than my monitor lol
Totally worth it
I need to replace my iPhone battery soon. I'm considering two options: buy a good third-party battery and re-solder the original controller from the old one onto it, using third-party adhesive and the old screws. Or should I just buy the original battery and everything else from Self Service Repair and avoid the hassle?
The phone is in excellent condition and I value it. Is it worth paying extra for the original?
A friend is selling an M4 Mac Mini. The price is fine (I don't live in the US or Europe).
But I'm a little confused by the history of this computer. He says he's owned it for almost a year and a half. He used the original 512GB SSD for six months, then upgraded to a Chinese 2TB SSD for the next six months. But after six months, he says, the computer started freezing, shutting down, and then not turning on at all. He tried restoring the OS via DFU, but that didn't help either. But he put the original SSD back, and the computer has been working perfectly for three months now.
Should I buy it or pass?
Last week I noticed that the corner of the "tongue" inside the USB Type-C port on my phone was slightly dented. I don't know how long this has been going on. I only noticed it recently. After a week of use, the dent hasn't changed at all. I didn't force anything into it, and the cables were inserted and pulled out normally. Should I be getting ready for repairs, or will it still serve me well for many years? I googled the third picture to see what the port on my phone looks like for comparison (it's a 16e).
These are the inscriptions on the bottom of a small wooden box from the Order of the Rising Sun 8th class. It certainly looks like a regular scribble, but I wonder if perhaps they could mean something in Japanese?
I think the M4 Mac Mini's SSD isn't soldered to the logic board anymore, but is instead located in some proprietary slot. If I buy the 256GB version now, will I be able to upgrade to a larger SSD in the future? Are there SSD drives for sale for this machine from third-party vendors or at least from Apple?
I've had it for almost three weeks now. I'm just a casual user, I don't really feel any downsides. Before this, I had a Pixel 8, and it's like night and day. Also on a pleasant note, I can add that I have a M3 MacBook Air and it integrates with this phone just perfectly.
I had nothing better to do, so I simultaneously ran Speedtest on the Pixel 7a and iPhone 16e to measure LTE speeds. Both are for the US market (I don't live in the US btw). These phones have the same carrier, the same data plan, and both have eSIM cards, not physical ones. I knew there was a nearly two-year gap between these phones (though, to be fair, the iPhone launched at just $100 more than the Pixel), and without expecting a miracle, I knew the 7a would lose. But why the hell did it lose by such a huge margin, as if they were separated by not two but five or seven years? Are Samsung modems really that bad?
My Pixel 8 battery was almost dead, and while I was out in the sun at 35-37 degrees Celsius, I started charging it from a power bank and continued using it. No complicated apps, just a messenger and banking app.
At first, it complained about overheating and started throttling, but I kept using it, and then it shut down completely. I let it cool down, and when I turned it on, it gave me this message.
