Did on the spot commissions on 228s last year at a gaming convention I'll be working again this year, so I took instagram suggestions for characters to draw to get myself back into the swing of things.
None of these clocked longer than 30 minutes. 20 at the absolute least, which is my goal time.
Got these round canvases and painted Beat and Gum hitting the Sonic and Amy poses from Sonic Adventure.
Came out sick. Need to digitize gum and make her into a sticker cuz that goes considerably hard.
Piece I'm currently painting. I love drawing characters doing the Sonic Adventure post. Was gonna be Beat from JSR, but went with Red instead and tbh way better choice.
But I have no idea what to do for the background. Abstract bullshit like the dream world levels? Maybe copy one of the more circular tags from the game? I dunno man, but I thought yall would like this.
I still haven't beaten the game, but so far Rasho-gan and Dohatsu-ten are my favorite boss battles. Such cool character designs, and a ton of fun to fight.
Way of the Sword rips so hard. 100/10 game.
I am, against my better judgement, once again remaking the character select screen from a fighting game with a massive roster with other artists using exclusively 228s.
Figured the only thing that could top Marvel vs Capcom 2 was Smash Ultimate, so thats the plan. 85 artists, one massive piece. Heres where we are so far with 33 completed submissions.
(Before anyone asks, all slots have currently been filled, but I expect some may open up soon because people missed deadlines and may not be able to finish)

Played "Guitaroo Man" for the first time recently and loved the shit outta it. Great rhythm game with bad ass music and a cool art style.
Anyway, heres a triple sized 228 about it.

The final batch of Kaiju i drew for the drawing challenge I put upon myself this month.
I tell ya this much-Kaiju are hard as fuck to draw. I don't think Im gonna do this again next year, even if I do have another list of Kaiju to pull from. Was fun to test myself, and now I feel more confident drawing Non-humanoid shit. But never again.
Another week of these down. Some of my best yet.
This has been fun but I'll be so happy when this is over.

I'm an artist and I'm crazy autistic for Kaiju (I call it being "Kaiju Pilled," or "Zilla Maxxing")
I put together a daily drawing challenge for the month and called it Kaijuly, gonna be trying to bust one out every day. Starting today with the original Godzilla from 1954! Rewatched the movie drawing this, holds up so much better than one would expect.
