Must do’s for a 2 day trip?

Hi all! My bf & I are gonna be visiting from Pittsburgh in August and will have 2 full days in LA driving from San Diego. We’re struggling with trying to decide what area to base our time in and where to stay! We really wanna make the trip as memorable as possible. We prefer more of the non-touristy kinda stuff but since our trip is so short I wouldn’t mind doing some of the common things. We are big foodies & enjoy some drinks, we also enjoy nature & good views.

One of the things we’ll probably do for sure is Griffith, but that’s all we really have so far. We’ve also obviously been looking at the Venice boardwalk & Santa Monica pier - would those be worth it or is there other better options for a short trip?

Anyways lol - any and all recommendations welcome (especially on what areas of the city to stay in), TIA!!

Hotels!

Hi all! My bf & I are gonna be doing a full open to close day at the park in August between our trip from SD to LA. We’re looking for a decent hotel nearby that we can get to quickly after leaving the park and crash for the night/get ready in the AM! Not really worried about hotel amenities more so just want it to be clean and decent priced. I’ve been looking at the double tree, Hilton, & candlewood suites mostly if anyone can speak if those are adequate for a night for 2 mid 20 year olds lol - if someone has other rec’s that may be even lower priced and still a decent stay let me know! The holiday inn is ok priced but was mixed about the reviews, I DESPISE gross feeling hotel rooms lol.

Also - insight on if it’s still worth it to do lightning lane on a Wednesday? I wanna make the most of the day since we only have that day there!

Eye cream rec’s

Hi all! I don’t use any eye cream right now but am starting to have very dry/sensitive under eyes (esp in the winter) and am looking for reviews on some of the eye creams I’ve seen people talk about the most (see photos). I’m 26 with pretty normal skin. If anyone else has any options outside of these please let me know but otherwise, anyone with any reviews drop them below!

ALSO - I’ve been looking for more reviews on the shaishaishai banana eye cream, would use this more with makeup vs a daily cream but am still wondering if anyone has any experience. TIA!!

Ring size advice!

Hi all! I’m just looking for some advice as I am STRUGGLING between a 7.5 or an 8 while trying out engagement ring sizers - I wanted to ask if anyone thinks the 7.5 causes too much of a ring muffin top or if I'm just overthinking and that's the way my fingers are? They honestly both feel comtortable, the 8 is obviously just looser when taking it. It doesn't teel like it's gonna fall off but there isn't much resistance when sliding it off. I've read all about the fingers swelling/cold weather and all that jazz lol but just wanted some advice from others that were between sizes. I've considered a 7.75 but have heard 1/4 sizes can be difficult sometimes with wedding bands.
TIA!!

Pls ignore my awful grown out nails, my nail lady returns from vacay on Friday 🥹

Advice!

Hi! My boyfriend & I are visiting end of July/early August from Pittsburgh for 5 days. We're specifically staying in Ocean Beach but will have a car and don't mind driving a bit. I've been doing a lot of googling & Reddit scrolling but have a few specific things I'm trying to get more recommendations for:

  1. Both regular AND breakfast burritos that are worth it and not just filled with rice: I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on this subject lol so I'm having a hard time telling what to believe. Also just good breakfast places in general!
  2. A more upscale restaurant to visit one night - I have a feeling we may be getting engaged so it'd be nice to have a nicer night out! The marine room looks cool but wanted to ask if their food is worth the trip? Doesn't need to be super fancy, just a bit nicer than your regular restaurant and a view would be great!
  3. Good coffee spots! Also seeing sooo many mixed reviews that would be nice to narrow down lol.
Nothing crazy, I'm good with a regular ol' latte as long as the quality is good.
  4. Mexican food! We don't have a lot of authentic options at home for this and I'd love to experience that while we're out there.

I'm also open to any & all recommendations, these are just the things I've been looking at! TIA :-)

Advice!

Hi! My boyfriend & I are visiting for the first time in August between our drive to SD & LA. We specifically want to experience cars land because it’s my favorite of all time lol, but are considering getting park hopper passes & would love to do Star Wars as well.

Would it be feasible to hit both parks in 1 day and have a manageable amount of time to do everything?? We would probably get LL passes for sure but I’m just worried about being rushed. It would be a weekday so I’m sure that would help a tiny bit?? All input appreciated!! :-)

Farmer’s Markets

Looking for SATURDAY farmers markets that are worth a visit? I’m so jealous of the amount of other cities that have massive mile long markets.

I know I can google but actually wanna hear of ones that have a lot of booths & are worth the drive to lol. For example: I live in Oakmont and their farmers market is literally 5 booths in a parking lot - I’d like to avoid ones like this 😂

Sizing

Looking to buy some linen pants for vacation & really love these ones - but am seeing sooo many mixed reviews about running TTS vs. Running large.

Does anyone in this group own these that can provide some input lol? TIA!

Hi!

My boyfriend & I are visiting in August from Pittsburgh and love to reach out for dining/sightseeing/all the experiences from locals firsthand instead of weeding through internet lists lol. We’ll take any & all types of recommendations! We are definitely big foodies & like to enjoy some good drinks as well.

Also - any insider tips about visiting are always greatly appreciated! We plan to spend a day at the beach so any info for that also.

Returning?

Anyone have any idea if/when the cheesy street chalupas are returning at all soon? They are my all time fav and I’ve been craving them so badly lol 😭

ALSO - if anyone has any hacks on how to create something sorta similar on the current menu pls let me know.
