Saw it just now.

It did not live up to the hype, at all.

Actors

Mat Damon was 9/10, very good. Would probably be even better if the script was better.

Robert Pattinson, probably 7.5/10, still quite good.

Anna Hathaway a decent 6.5/10.

The rest of the cast was incredibly mediocre and forgettable.

Costumes were downright terrible. The script was boring and forgettable. The visuals were mostly great, and the movie did have some beautiful scenes.

It was a decent movie, but not close to being in my top 50. I'm certainty surprised by its reception and score. If anything, the movie kind of just makes me want to go watch Troy.

I've done a bit of searching and a lot of people see to use the ikea Billy shelf for blu-rays. At first I was a bit concerned with the fact that it's deep and can basically fit 2 cases rather than just the 1. But now I'll be using 3 Billy shelves as a wall to partition a mini home theater. I want to ask if these shelves can mostly support themselves mid-room without a wall support behind them?

I see on the website that it comes with wall support screws and that it has a warning for being tip-over-able.

Plan is to connect 3 of them together as a wall, and to install some kind of acoustics wall on its backside.

Probably not really relevant, but the acoustics side will face the couch and the bluray selection side will face away from the movie cubby.

I've also searched this Subreddit. But the commenters to previous OPs unfortunately seem to mostly respond with things such as "try 2007" or "it's 2026, have you considered streaming?". Those responses were funny but I hope to be more lucky than people who asked previously.

I am specifically looking for physical stores with used (good priced) blu-rays (or 4k blu-rays), and TCG stores that have graded Pokemon cards.

If you have any experience in CPH browsing for these things, could you recommend some stores? I would regret missing any.

Obviously noise can be expected when starting, pausing and restarting, skipping, etc.

But also when it's running? It's not super loud, but there is a bit of constant noise. Don't really hear it while the movie is running since the audio is louder, but still. Just wanting to hear how noisy yours are.

Is not having English subtitles without [Birds chirping] and [Laughing in Spanish], like I'm not actually deaf. I can hear. But sometimes I just like to have the English subtitles shown in case there's something I miss because the background score is going 50 decibels over the damn speed limit.

I recently got sick of terrible bitrate from streaming services and decided to kick-start my physical collection. Fast forward 1 month and I now have... a lot.

I would like to discuss storage / display.

I've seen a lot of people recommend storing them vertically, side by side. And most pictures here seem to follow that recommendation and/or trend. But...

This is me:

I like to admire my blu-ray collection like this. This sparks joy.

But.. when you store the blu-rays vertically, in order read the titles.. you have to do this:

So I've decided to arrange my collection horizontally, stacked in groups that fit together. My question is: how many would you be comfortable stacking together? I have a number in mind but I don't want to influence your recommendation.

Some blu-rays are in very small and thin cases, those I obviously would be more cautious with. And I also have some box sets that I would probably stack vertically, because they already come in a nice cover box that is easily identifiable.

I am mostly into using my PC, but after being disappointed with streaming quality I have decided to finally start a physical collection and make a home cinema.

I've bought blu-rays, a Panasonic 820 and am now looking for the right TV. After some search I've decided on the LG 77" C5 OLED.

I did some research and was prepared to make the purchase but then the salesperson tries to upsell this 'calibration' to me. I've never heard of it so I had to cancel the purchase and go home and ask you guys, the experts.

It was rather expensive. They wanted roughly $310 for the job, and offered to give a discount of $77 after I told them that it sounded expensive.

They explain they will use 'Calman' and that it will be done before the TV is shipped to their store.

To 'show me the difference' they played a pre-recorded video on an OLED display (65" C5) that was supposed to illustrate the difference between having no calibration and having the calibration. In some of the footage the waterline of a beach looked to be further into the ocean with the calibration OFF, and with the calibration ON the spot where the water met the beach was now clearly closer in on the beach. Another example was color turning; turning snow that looked blue into a more believable white.

I couldn't help but think that the video was made specifically to upsell product, though. So I was not really convinced..

They also told me that this calibration would help alleviate potential burn-in issues.

Soo.. I am hoping you can help inform me if this is actual useful or if it is snake oil.

My only plans for the TV is watching blu-rays, 4k blu-rays and maybe the occasional streamed movie. I will not be watching TV or gaming on it.

In terms of money, the calibration service would add approximately 14% to the total cost of the TV. Location is EU.

What happens if I play auradin with max 15/15 in Holy Light and he has it only as 1/15?
