Why so few mentions of big incision pain post surgery?

All I read about is shoulder pain, gas pain, discomfort ect, but for those who have had laproscopic, why next to no mention of severe pain in that main abdominal incision above and to the left of your belly button (starting upon waking up from the surgery) where they suture up the incision in the abdominal wall? Minus the first day, that was the only pain I've had and it was miserable.

First Post-Op Shower: How long did you go before having the courage to take your fist shower?

I'm on Day 12, about to take my first shower. My fear is bending and twisting in order to get my lower body down to my knees clean. I'm afraid of splitting my suture or rupturing my abdominal incisiont.

Showering Post OP: How to clean lower half of body?

I'm not a skinny guy and I've been in too much pain with movement that I've been afraid to shower, so much so that I haven't showered since my surgery on Tues 5/5. What scares me is the potential pain and injury resulting from the twisting and bending needed to get clean, especially the lower half of the body (I have a big belly). I need some ideas on how to get totally clean without injuring my abdominal incision site.

Extreme Incision Suture Pain While Reaching Down for the floor.

10 Days post op and up until today, I could (though painfully

) pick light things up from the ground/floor but now the pain from the tension on my internal abdominal sutures now makes it impossible. Is this normal?

I'm Day 9 Post Op. What kind of physical activity is ok and what should I still avoid?

Had my surgery on 5/5 and I've been resting the whole time doing very little physical activity so that internal incision site in my upper left abdomen can heal asap, but want to start doing chores and lifting things, etc.

Severe sharp pain on main incision site?

There is an incision on the upper left quadrant of my abdomen that feels like I am being stabbed and ripped open by a hot knife each time I move in certain ways. I had the surgery on Tuesday of last week, it's fine now that I haven't moved much in hours and took some hydrocodone and ibuprofen. Any idea of how long I should expect for this sharp pain to go away?
