Render distance of players?

I was wondering what the render distance cap is for each platform.

I'm on a long range sniper kick at the moment. I can consistently hit 650m shots and a couple of 750m. But I think for my set-up, players don't render past about 800 meters, and I'd love to get a 1000 meter snipe.

I know I've played with a couple of people on console who were spectating me and couldn't see people I was aiming at over about 500m. And I know I've shot at people who were looking for me but apparently couldn't see me.

Very basic set-up on my end, 12gb 4070, 1440p, distant level of detail set to 'high'. I can see helicopters at over 1000, but the characters don't render.

Tips or tricks?

Mission Impossible - Final Reckoning - Too much of a good thing

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Dead Reckoning. Live action set pieces, fairly snappy script, well acted, etc...

So when I sat down to finally watch Final Reckoning, I knew the reviews weren't as good, but I had high hopes.

The whole of the movie can be summed up by a submarine set piece that happens around the halfway mark of the movie. We've seen plenty of underwater stuff before, but I've never seen anything that really gave a sense of scale like this scene. It felt huge, it felt real, it felt like the stakes mattered. The score impacted a sense of dread and it felt dangerous.

Then they ramped it up. Now, for some reason, the sub starts to roll... so we're swimming AND we're climbing... and now let's drop some torpedoes on him, and then the door is blocked... but he can't fit in the tube so...

And that's the whole movie. Let's take a whole movies worth of stuff and cram it into the inciting event. A whole prestige TV series could be made out of a President faced with killing millions to save billions, but here it's the C plot of the climax. Not one, but two 'I can disarm the nuclear weapon but may have to sacrifice myself to do so' bits.

That's not to say there's not good stuff in there. The action and production quality are the best there are. Compare the tunnel chase scene to the one from Fast and Furious 4. FF4 is the big action set piece climax of the movie, and it feels cramped and claustrophobic and cgi'd, while Dead Reckoning's looks and feels amazing and it's just a transition scene. Sound design is great and the cgi disappears.

Where it falls short is the need to constantly ramp everything up. Instead of letting serious events have weight, it just hits another level. Plane exploded? Okay, now your parachute is on fire. A general and a Secret Service agent have a shoot out in the War Room? No worries, we've got a nuclear holocaust to think about...

At the end of the day, C+. Too much of a good thing.

Nope, not crashes or OSS, or dupers, or hackers (maybe a little).

No, my current minigame is long distance sniping. A Victus, a Raptor scope and some high velocity. My longest is currently 500m, but the problem is finishing. I've gotten headshots at 750, but all it does is break, and as soon as I break someone, they're ducking for cover and plating up. No way to do a quick follow up at 750. And even if I get a down, they usually fall out of sight.

One day, though, that solo with a 1 plate and no self is going to be on the buy at Sawah and wonder how he got downed from Satiiq.

Things have definitely been better, but I still have occasional issues in Koschei.

Just finished a raid, killed the sniper and rhino, hit the exit, see the raid summary screen, get xp, missions completed, and instead of back to the lobby I get the dreaded 'downloading instance inventory ' notification.

Sure enough, I've got my full backpack again. So, complete missions, get xp, AND keep my inventory?

Not gonna complain about that one.
