Northern Arizona Agate

I know this is agate, but what about the rust color? Is that just an iron deposit? And is it a specific agate? It’s the best agate I have found away from a coastline and I am curious about it!

Blue Heeler has a home!

I already have updated the other post, but in case anyone has missed the update- she has a home! My boyfriend and I visited with a family and they fell in love with her. Their kids were amazing with her and their other animals were also great with her. She just wanted love from them! She has a vet visit today and will be checked for a chip, as well as a general health visit. She is in a stupendous home with very compassionate people. I feel comfortable that she will get to live a happy carefree life in their hands.

Thank you to everyone who reached out and helped! She deserves all the love in the world, and with your help, she found a family (assuming she isn’t chipped). I am grateful to everyone who opened their heart to her.

*this may get taken down as a duplicate post, but just in case anyone misses the update at the bottom of the prior post

EDIT FOR UPDATE:
I have been informed that she is not chipped. She is getting vaccinated today and spayed tomorrow! Unfortunately, she does appear to have been abused and she will be on a special diet because they found she was eating dirt :(. The vet also places her age at roughly 6-8 months old, so just a pup! She’s in good hands and will have a loving forever home. I am so grateful to the family that took her in!

Free blue healer

As many of you may have seen yesterday, I found an abandoned female blue healer in Coalinga, CA. I live in Fresno, and the dog is currently with me in Fresno (so it is relevant to Fresno and the post shouldn’t get taken down maybe).

I cannot keep her, but I would prefer not to give her to a shelter. I can’t take her directly to a no kill shelter, most places don’t accept strays. I also can’t keep her where I’m at very long (not allowed to have dogs in my apartment and I move on Sunday out of state). If anyone would be interested in taking her in, here is a little bit about her:

She is young, most likely about 2 years old. She has clean pearly whites, and it appears her nails have been clipped recently. Her nipples are large, so I believe she had baby’s recently. She cowers at people a little, but she begs for rubs nonstop. She doesn’t bark, like at all, she only has whimpered here and there. She warmed up to me in just an hour of spending time with her, so she can adjust fairly well. She didn’t explode at my cats, so she may be used to them or does well with them (they did stay separated by a glass door). She seems a healthy weight. She would likely have to be treated for ticks and fleas, but she is healthy otherwise.

DM if you’re interested! I will be taking her to a shelter in a little bit if no one is.

EDIT FOR UPDATE:
My boyfriend and I found a good home for her! We met with the family and watched how she interacted with their pets and kids and it went amazing. The couple did let us know they will be taking her to vet asap! They will have her checked for a chip, make sure she is healthy, and continue the next steps moving forward for her (whether that is returning her to an owner if chipped, or keeping her in their home). The little lady was happy, begging for rubs, and relaxing when we left. She is in a very good home and I feel comfortable with the people she is with. Thank you to everyone with their support and care for her. She stole our hearts and we hated the idea of a shelter for her. I’m grateful for the quick responses! This restored some faith I had in this big ol city 💗

*just got an update she is not chipped- u/SquishMika1560 is the new owner! For anyone who wished to help out, she is the point of contact. Thank you again for the support!

ANOTHER UPDATE:
I have been informed that she is not chipped (as stated above).

Possible abandoned dog in Coalinga, CA

This male dog is on W Gale Ave just north of Coalinga. The boy is friendly and definitely overheated. I can’t take him in with my current pets at home, any suggestions? I have called the police department in Coalinga and the animal control wouldn’t be able to come out until tomorrow. I don’t really want to leave the dog on its own out here :( I think it may have been abandoned with how sweet he is.

Repeat syncope episodes

*For starters, I will be seeing my doctor about this first thing on Monday morning. I have also already gone to a hospital and there’s nothing more I can do until I see my PCP. I am just looking to see if anyone else has/ had a similar situation, what the problem and solution is/ was, and any tips to help it not be so bad.

I have recently been diagnosed with SVT, VT, and as anemic. I have gotten 2 feraheme infusions about 4 weeks ago and this has helped with my energy tremendously. I am able to workout again and feel a tad more normal. I also have a pretty low resting HR, anywhere from 45-55 bpm. However, the dizziness is so so so bad! This past week, I started to feel self dragging. Each day it was worse than the day before, and I had to get dragged out of bed to get to work. I also have had a headache consistently all this past week, and I have had really bad brain fog. I feel physically and mentally slow.

Well, 2 days ago I got myself out of bed and my vision was spinning and eventually just went black. I fell back onto my bed, so I didn’t get hurt. This all happened in less than 10 seconds. I should have called out and went to a doctor then and there, but I decided to slowly get myself ready and went to work. Any quick movement gave me the same feeling all day, so I just took my time.

Yesterday, the same thing happened, but my vision only spun really bad instead of going black, too. I steadied myself with the bed and wall and just moved slow. I went to work, and eventually left soon after arriving because of how crappy I felt. I went to the hospital directly. I was between wheelchairs and beds, and my vision would be spinning and my head would get heavy and lull back. I couldn’t control it. It would happen while just sitting or lying there resting. I was discharged and recommended to see my PCP. They want me to get another holter on and be able to catch the episodes on the monitor.

Today, not nearly as bad as the past two days, but still bad. If I move around too quick or change my head position, my vision is spinning so bad that I feel myself losing control of my body. I get nausea every time it happens and my headache gets worse. It has never been THIS bad. I have had issues like this for a while now, but the only time it’s been this bad was when I also had an ear infection.

If there’s any advice or any pieces of information that may be useful, throw it this way. I am new to all of this and just figuring it out. For example, the doctor yesterday told me that the SVT makes sense with being anemic. However, the VT was a major concern, as it has little to do with your iron. He kept asking for me to verify that my holter monitor data actually said that, and asked why they haven’t done anything to help it (stent, pacemaker, etc.). I didn’t have answers for him since I had no idea. Also for record, my cardiologist is kinda crap and I’m looking for a new one, otherwise I might actually be better educated on what’s going on.

*UPDATE: I have all of the tests back from the hospital and have seen my PCP. It appears my slow heart rate may be the issue. The annotated ECG stated ‘sinus bradycardia with sinus arrhythmia’. I am scheduled to get another holter monitor on me. Through some research, and based on the diagnoses with tachycardia AND bradycardia, I think maybe I am dealing with sick sinus syndrome. I have had a prior injury to my heart a while ago- 480 volts that took me out. This most likely caused SA Node damage, which makes sense with the tachy-brady syndrome. I feel some relief knowing what’s going on! Hopefully the rest of the care and maintenance for this goes smooth and quickly, I’m ready to feel normal again

Central Valley California finds from today’s ventures- smallest is an angel shark tooth and the largest is a mako shark tooth. The two extremes of today!

Help w/ GI

Like the title states, I need help with my GI health. For a little history to understand what is going on- all in chronological order:

-I got bloodwork done and saw a cardiologist due to syncope

-I was diagnosed with SVT, VT, and as anemic

-I was placed on a high dose of oral iron supplements

-I got a stomach infection from the oral iron supplements

-I was taken off of the oral supplement and got bloodwork done again

-My iron levels were even lower than the last time, so they pushed for iron infusions

-I got two infusions in two weeks of feraheme

- My energy levels are increased and I’m feeling a bit better on that end

Now that you understand the timeline, ever since the stomach infection, I’ve had gut health issues 🫠. I rely on prune juice to keep me regular, try to eat fiber rich foods, and eat clean. I have completely rearranged my diet based on my iron needs and my gut health. Without this special diet I do now, I am so backed up to the point that I actually found myself at the hospital bent over in pain and crying from literal shit that I can’t pass. I didn’t know if anyone else has experienced anything similar and has any advice. Any is appreciated💗

**EDIT: for reference, it’s been 2 months since my stomach infection

Company Provided Work Clothes

I have worked in HVAC for about 4 years now. I’ve been with a couple different company’s due to treatment and personal reasons, and I have found that most places allow me to use my own work pants at the bare minimum.

I currently am at a company that only allows the uniform they provide, however, they only provide men’s fit. Not universal, no women’s options, just men’s. Like okay, whatever, but I’m not a dude and I don’t look like a dude. Particularly, I have hips and a butt and my upper body isn’t square. I found the pair (top and bottom) that fits me best and the uniforms department okayed the uniform fit (it’s a facility maintenance/ service role and they care how you look).

After about 3 months, I get called into uniforms and they request I do a new try on for a better fit due to new policy’s. They then specified stating that my pants were too tight. I agree as to not be difficult, but they literally put me in a sack of potatoes. I liked the fit I currently had, and I’m comfortable in it. Furthermore, the people telling me this were also the ones who okayed the uniform 3 months prior. I didn’t gain or lose any weight in that time frame, I maintained.

I told my boss what was going on and how it’s a load of bs. I also stated that they only offer men’s fit and I’m not a dude, so yeah they don’t fit right. I also asked him if he would write me up for the pants since it was department based, and he said no. He told me the uniforms department talked to him as well, and they gave him the excuse that they were uncomfortable for me. If you’ve read this far and you’re keeping track, that’s the third excuse as to why I needed different pants. Also, mind you, there are other people at this location who wear skinny jeans and leggings and that is okay.

At the end of this situation, I got to keep the original pants issued and my bosses stood up for me, which is a major win. My rant is mostly about the fact that female options in the trades for uniforms is literal poo and that’s why I have my own uniforms at home and push to wear my own at most jobs that allow it.

Shark Teeth Jewelry

I recently posted of some of my favorite shark teeth finds in the Central Valley of California. Here is a necklace I made with my #1 favorite! It’s a lower narrow mako shark tooth that dates back 15-16 million years ago. It’s in nearly perfect condition and I will wear it proudly :)

Central Valley California

A couple of my favorites :) (front side and back side)

The assortment includes mako shark, cow shark, tiger shark, and stingray. Possibly others as well, I’m not the best at identification.

Tachycardia Diagnosis

I am a 26F and just got diagnosed with Supraventricular Tachycardia and Ventricular Tachycardia. I wore a HR monitor for a week, and my HR at rest went as high as 220 bpm quite a bit. I was also diagnosed as anemic and just started my iron transfusions (my stomach couldn’t handle the oral iron supplement- I got a stomach infection).

I am dizzy, light headed, fatigued, freezing cold, and weak most days. I went from being able to do two a days at the gym and work a 9-5 in between, to barely being able to make it through a work day. I deal with syncope sometimes, too, and I can’t solo travel anymore because of it (passed out on a trail in the Grand Canyon in the summer by myself). My health issues have completely absorbed me and I feel so helpless.

My questions are: Does it get better? Does this last a life time? I’m so tired, the medical bills are a lot, and I want to be able to lead a normal life. Everyday, just simple movements remind me of how incapable my body is and I hate feeling sorry for myself, but I can’t get my energy / frustration out through exercise (don’t really have the energy, and that has been my coping mechanism my whole life). I guess I also want to know how other people who have similar issues as me have coped and if there is hope to feel healthy and well again.
