Chicago meets Detroit

Chicago dog Detroit-style pizza

All beef hot dogs, tomato, onion, mustard (only), diced dill pickle, poppy seeds, celery salt, and finished with Vienna sweet relish.

This might be an atrocity to the pizza community but it’s just delicious.

Remember when movie theaters had personalities?

I know today’s theaters have recliners, IMAX, and all the premium upgrades, and I appreciate those too.

But every now and then I find myself visiting this older theater just because of the atmosphere.

The giant Art Deco-inspired chandeliers. The colorful ceiling. The huge open atrium. The murals. The patterned carpet. It reminds me of a time when simply walking into the lobby felt like part of the moviegoing experience.

As a kid in the ‘90s, going to the movies wasn’t just about the film. You’d wander the lobby while your parents bought tickets, stare up at the ceiling, play arcade games, smell the popcorn, and feel like you were somewhere special before the previews even started.

I know these kinds of theaters still exist, but they feel a lot rarer now. Seeing one that’s been preserved instantly takes me back.
Anyone else miss when movie theaters were destinations instead of just places to watch a movie?

Has anyone done a fine dining international tour?

I was thinking of doing a fine dining food tour with a well known influencer through some very well regarded restaurants in Spain. I was getting close to sending payment but ended up asking if there is some contract or agreement for the tour.

My concern is that given the unpredictable nature of travel, if there is a situation in which we cannot make it to one of the spots, how is that handled? Is there a refund for a part of the payment?

When I asked this question, the only response I got was that “this has never happened before” and no other information.

Has anyone done one of these tours and/ or can anyone shed some light on these questions? Thanks.

Slow moving fan blades near radiator 2016 LR4

I’ve been smelling a faint burnt rubber smell especially when running the cabin fan not on recirc and looked under the hood to see this slow moving fan. Is this normal?
