I just started on phentermine today as my insurance won’t cover GLP-1 medication and I wasn’t sure about using one of those anyway. Phentermine was suggested as an alternative and I decided to try it. I have a few health conditions that make exercising hard as I have no energy. My doctor and I agree that losing even just 10-20 pounds will help resolve some of my symptoms and help improve my energy. I already notice a little boost and haven’t felt hungry at all today since taking the first dose this morning. I am still eating small amounts but don’t feel any cravings for sugar or wanting to eat out of boredom.

I am excited and hopeful that this will work, I know it’s not a magic overnight cure, but a tool. I have a dietician too guiding my eating and exercise routines, and I am determined to get healthier. Weight isn’t even my main concern, just feeling healthy and having my energy back will be enough.

I am starting at 221 pounds and am 5’7” with a BMI of 34. My overall goal is 60 pounds to lose in order for my BMI to be in normal range.

Are there any tips or suggestions you found helpful? What has been everyone’s experience?

I am currently working for a company I really love, but it is nonprofit and pay is lower. It's enough to get by, but not really “ahead”. It's a work from home job, so I enjoy flexibility and manage my own case load (social work for foster care). The only downside is the pay, really.

I was just browsing job boards, I do occasionally to see what else is out there, and came across a social work job at my local Rehabilitation facility (as in recovery from surgery, illness and hospital stays). I applied on a whim, not thinking I would hear back, as I usually don't from most job boards. I get a call a few hours later from the site manager asking me to interview! My understanding is that the job is assisting in developing care plans for patients, coordinating services, overseeing discharge and support in community integration after discharge. All tasks I am familiar with in my current role.

The pay is about 40% more and I think I would like it, although I would be sad leaving my job as I do like it and built relationships with my clients and co-workers.

However I am getting married this year and want to look into buying a house (we rent now) and starting family planning, so the extra money would be helpful in getting debts paid and saving for a home.

What is the smartest move here? I agreed to interview on Monday to hear more and see if it's a good fit. I don't want to accept anything and end up miserable so I am not sure what to do.

My husband surprised me by buying Paralives for me last night after asking about it since it released. As an avid Sims player for years, I was a bit overwhelmed with learning a new game. It’s similar, but different enough.

I started with the Darcier family, because they are just so cute together. I love the “opposites attract” trope. It has been a great experience so far and I’m excited to see how it develops over time!

I have been playing around with the Sims 1 premades and had Michael use the chemistry set…he made a red potion. Cool, I can get him a girlfriend. Who else appears except his SISTER Bella. 😱

Now they’re in love and I’m just not sure what to do except destroy their relationship to make the love icon go away, lol. I know they’re not actually related in 1, but knowing that they are later still makes me feel icky to play his house. 😓
