Best Car Class to rent for LDD?

Hi all,

I’m planning an 8 hour road trip to Ohio and need to get a comfortable car. Just last week I rented out a Tesla only to be told they didn’t have any and instead gave me a Nissan Kicks which had zero driver assist other then adaptive cruise control. Which class can I rent that for sure guarantees me the most room and driver assists?

TT2 Seat Big-Size Friendly?

Greetings everyone.

I’m a Great Advenurer as it’s my closest home park. Since the heartbreaking closure of Kingda Ka, I never got the chance to get my final ride as at the time I was super fat and couldn’t fit on anything except joker. Since then, I’ve made tremendous progress and can now fit on most of our rides minus El-Toro but that just needs a few more inches.

I’m planning a trip to cedar point real soon to ride TT2 but I’m curious how forgiving is the seat? I know it’s an over the shoulder lap bar similar to how Kingda Ka was, but would someone who’s 6’6 and 320ish pounds be able to ride with a problem? Would hate to drive there just to get turned away. And what about all the other thrill rides?

Thank you!

Terrible experience today at GA NJ.

EDIT: for the sake of not putting identifying info to the people involved, I won’t include times.

I have never in my life felt so utterly embarrassed by employees at this park. I’m sure there are some ride ops in here so please, explain how this nonsense happened.

For four years I’ve been riding Joker without a single problem at my height until today. I get sent to a loading zone and the ride attendant pulls me off the queue and tells me to stand next to this stick thing. I’m unsure why he’s asking so I stand next to it and he says I can’t ride. I thought he was joking and he was being dead serious. I told him I’ve been riding this for four years and I certainly didn’t get any taller since this morning. He shrugged his shoulders and just told me I couldn’t ride. So I walk out of the ride, go to my locker and get my stuff (since they’re so intense about having shit in zipped parts of your pants) and come back to measure myself at the front of the park. She was much more friendly and measured me three times and told me I was good to ride and then radioed the ride attendant (something about using the wrong stick) and told me to use the fast lane for the inconvenience. I go to the fast lane and the guy in front refuses to let me on because I have my phone in my zipped shorts. I politely explained to him the issue and asked if I could use the lockers for the fast lane. “Nope.” He didn’t want to hear it and just kept repeating the same thing. He then had me wait in that line after coming back from speaking to the ride operator for nearly eight minutes until someone came behind me and opened the chain for them. When I asked why am I still standing here he just repeated the same thing that I couldn’t ride without putting my stuff back in my locker.

Again, I know the parks have policies and this is what the manufacturer wants, but if someone is given a free fast lane as an apology for a mistake, why give grief to the customer instead of just letting them use the fast lane lockers and then on top of that have them stand there for eight minutes looking like an idiot??

Why are there zero 24/7 commercial gyms anywhere near us?

Other then 24/7 fitness on Scarsdale (which is packed overnight), how do we have no other 24/7 commercial gyms? The PF I used to go to on 225th St is no longer 24/7 either, and all of these gyms on weekends close at 7 pm and it drives me nuts.

Capital one closed all 3 of my cars for inconsistent activity. Help?

Capital One closed 3 credit cards because their AutoPay kept charging the wrong account. What do I do?
I’m beyond frustrated and honestly don’t know where to go from here.
I had two Capital One credit cards with AutoPay configured to pull from my savings account. For some reason, Capital One’s system repeatedly attempted to draft payments from my checking account instead.
The problem is that I repeatedly tried to fix this. I attempted to cancel and modify AutoPay through the app, but it continued trying to charge the wrong account.
I was never notified that:
Payments were being returned
AutoPay was pulling from the wrong account
My accounts were at risk of closure
Capital One was considering closing my accounts
The first notice I received was that both accounts had already been closed.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I wasn’t a customer who simply wasn’t paying. I had no late fees, no interest charges year-to-date, and I was making manual payments. I even paid off one of the cards in full during the previous billing cycle.
After the closures, I called Capital One and spoke with a representative. The call was recorded by Capital One. During that conversation, the representative specifically told me:
An appeal would be submitted regarding the account closures.
All AutoPay arrangements had been canceled so that no additional withdrawals would occur.
Neither of those things appears to have happened.
After that call, Capital One’s system attempted another withdrawal from the same incorrect account. Because AutoPay had apparently not been canceled as promised, I ended up being charged overdraft fees by my bank.
At that point, because my existing cards had been closed, I applied for a Venture X card. Capital One immediately approved the application and sent me the card.
Then that card was closed as well.
So now I’m sitting here with three closed Capital One accounts, overdraft fees caused by AutoPay that I was told had been canceled, and no clear explanation beyond vague references to returned payments and “inconsistent activity.”
What makes this particularly frustrating is that I have evidence supporting my claims:
Screen recordings showing the AutoPay settings within the Capital One app.
Records of my manual payments and payment history.
The account closure letters.
A recorded customer service call where I was told AutoPay had been canceled and an appeal would be filed.
I’ve already begun preparing a CFPB complaint, but I’m curious:
Has anyone dealt with Capital One AutoPay charging the wrong account?
Has anyone successfully gotten Capital One to reinstate closed accounts?
Should I also file complaints with other regulators?
If a representative tells you on a recorded call that AutoPay has been canceled and it wasn’t, what options do you have?
At this point I’m less upset about the closures themselves and more upset that I repeatedly tried to fix the problem, was told it had been fixed, and then suffered additional financial harm because it apparently wasn’t.

Has reckless scooter & bike riding gotten worse in stations?

Today, while walking onto the train to work, I almost got struck by an e-bike who decided to zip down the platform at speed. I feel like this issue has gotten so much worse in the last few months and was wondering about your opinions?

LA Fitness in Ridge Hill is the worst, gym recommendations?

Hi all,

The LA Fitness in Ridge Hill is a disaster. Multiple machines broken for months, to many people, to long of a wait per machine, horrible gym etiquette from other people, I’m just at my wits end. Not to mention the weekend hours absolutely suck.

Is there a better gym in Westchester that has a pool and better equipment? I have a secondary membership for Arsens in CT but I’m not driving 40+ min to and from there unless I’m at work (I work in Greenwich).

Infuriating experience.

I was on a flight from IST to JFK. The seat I had originally picked and paid $30 for had a broken TV screen and the charging port didn’t work, so I brought it to the FA’s attention and he moved me next to this lady. She was immediately confrontational saying she paid for the entire row to herself even though the FA said that was a lie. I then sat down and this woman decided to keep putting her dirty shoes on my legs as you can see. I told her THREE TIMES to knock it off and after the fourth time I got up to the FA and asked for the lead FA to come intervene. He did, and he told her to knock it off and she said she wasn’t doing anything. She continued to do it and the FA said there’s no where else they can move me to so I have to suffer. I ended up putting a pillow between us. She kept cursing about me in Turkish to her friend on the phone with henious and vile things that I won’t repeat here.

When we landed, I immediately got up, said a few choice words to her and got off and immediately filed a complaint with Turkish Airlines. It took SEVEN REPLIES for them to actually read my complaint thoroughly, and all they ended up saying was in the future to notify the flight crew as we have no record of the incident. I am LIVID at this entire situation.
