Happy International Cat Day to Blue Cheese's best friend and brother, Link
We have 2 other cats but they're not the biggest fans of her, so I only have photos of her with Link. And yes, Link is on a diet.
Went to a corgi meetup today at a dog splash pad
Blue Cheese had a blast, she was especially happy to see her fellow Cardigan Corgi friend there.
A few weeks ago we celebrated Blue Cheese's 2nd birthday with some of her corgi, and non-corgi friends
Hey everyone, I'm your new mod (and Blue Cheese says hi)!
Hi friends!
I just wanted to introduce myself as the new moderator of r/cardiganwelshcorgi. This sub has been pretty quiet for a while, and I'd really love to see it grow. Cardigans are such a cool and uncommon breed, and they deserve a fun, active community.
A bit about me: I'm the proud owner of a blue merle Cardigan named Blue Cheese. She's got way too much personality and is probably judging me right now as I type this. I'm here because I want to build a space where we can all geek out over these long-bodied, tail-wagging goofballs.
Here's what I've set up so far:
Clear rules to keep things positive and organized
Removal reasons so you know why something got taken down
Photo comments are now enabled, so you can reply with pics of your pups!
And just to be clear, Pembrokes are welcome too as long as the post is still Cardigan related. Comparisons, mixes, or side by side photos are totally fine.
Now I really want to hear from you all. What would make this sub more fun for you? A few ideas I've been tossing around:
Daily or weekly threads like Photo Fridays or Training Tuesdays
Themed days for sploots, bleps, or puppy flashbacks
Breed resources like health info or grooming guides
Monthly photo contests
Maybe even connecting with other Cardigan owners nearby
And honestly, just post more! Share your photos, ask questions, tell stories, show off those magnificent ears and tails. Every single post helps this community feel more alive.
Drop a comment below with anything. Your ideas, your Cardigan's name and age, or just say hello. And feel free to reply with a picture of your pup using the new photo comments feature. I'd love to see everyone's dogs.
Blue Cheese is sending virtual nose boops to all of you.
Let's make this the best little corner of Reddit for Cardigan lovers.
Your new mod
It's finally over
I got laid off from my role on January 30th.
Today, I finally accepted an offer.
I tracked everything. Every application. Every interview. Every rejection. Every ghosting. It was the only way to keep myself sane. Now that it's over, I wanted to share what that actually looked like.
- Applications sent: 452
- Companies I actually heard back from: 87
- First-round interviews: 30
- Second-round interviews: 25
- Final rounds: 15
- Times I was the second choice: Confirmed 10
- Ghostings: 147
- Job offers: 3
What I did
- The spreadsheet. I tracked every application, interview, and follow-up. When I felt like I was getting nowhere, I could look at it and see that I was actually making progress.
- Posting on LinkedIn. It felt stupid at first, but a career coach that my past employer paid for insisted I give it a shot, and I hate to say that it helped a lot. Those posts got me visibility, scored me a handful of interviews, and connected me with people who actually wanted to help. I really didn't put much work into it, I told DeepSeek what I wanted to post about and dropped in my resume telling it to "Write LinkedIn posts for a senior people first project manger on z, y, and z topics. Make sure they sound human and not like something on r/LinkedInLunatics". I then edited the posts into my own language.
- Talking to people. I reached out to former colleagues.. People want to help. You just have to ask. A low effort way for them to help is to ask for a recommnedation on LinkedIn, which helps make your profile stand out.
- Not tailoring every resume to every job. I used DeepSeek to tailor my resume based on 6 job descriptions for the types of roles I was planning to apply to. It gave me a strong, adaptable base that seemed to break through a lot of ATS systems and land me solid interviews. It saved me hours and kept me consistent.
- Taking breaks. Job searching is exhausting. I let myself step away when I needed to. It made a huge difference.
- Being open top Hybrid if possible. These had smaller applicant pools, and the job offer I took was posted as Hybrid, but when they extended the offer, they extended it as fully remote.
Received a verbal offer from my second choice company
I just received a verbal offer from my second choice company. My first choice, who I had my final interview with last week, said in an email this week that they would have next steps early next week. Should I reach out to them today or Monday to let them know that I received an offer but they're my first choice?
Right now this is my draft email.
> I hope you are having a good week.
> I wanted to reach out with a quick update. I have received a verbal offer from another company, but first choice company name remains my first choice. I really enjoyed meeting the team and learning about the role, and I would love the opportunity to join if the timing works out
> I understand you may still be in the decision process, and I do not want to rush anything. I just wanted to be transparent about where I am and let you know that I would be thrilled to move forward with first choice company if possible.
> Please let me know if there is any update on the timeline or if there is anything else you need from me.
> Thank you for your time and keeping me in the loop
I don't want to burn the bridge or make them not consider me because I'm expecting some sort of negotiation using the other offer (I really prefer the benefits and stability at this company), especially since I know a lot can still happen between now and start dates
100th shot today, it's amazing to see the progress
Started with Sema and switched to Triz, seeing the results overtime is amazing, especially since I'm losing slowly as to avoid loose skin and losing muscle mass.
The wait after what felt like a great final interview
Just need a mini vent.
Had a fantastic in person final interview on Thursday, I felt like I meshed with the director and the hiring manager, who I had a virtual interview with the week before, stopped in at the start to say hi and meet in person, and had her pup with her who I got to say hi to. The interview felt like it went great, super conversational, she mentioned that it sounds like i have all the right experience when I asked if there was anything I could elaborate on before we ended. Got a tour of the offices with the HR person and had a great non-job related conversation with her. Sent follow up emails to both the person I interviewed with and the HR person who gave me a tour.
Now the wait has been excruciating. I know it hasn't been long and I totally forgot to ask what the timeline was after the interview, so now I'm second guessing any little thing I might have done, like what if I didn't ask enough questions (I normally have a bunch but froze due to being in person), what if I said something stupid, etc.
Thanks for reading, I just needed to get the nerves out a bit. I've been unemployed since January and had a bunch of final rounds, but I never walked away from one feeling as good about it in my gut as this one.
Also, I'm still interviewing elsewhere. Had a 2nd round today, have another on Wednesday, and have an external recruiter call tomorrow.

Blue Cheese is wishing everyone a happy pride!
Especially our friends in Philly who are gonna be out and about today for pride. She says to stay hydrated and wear your sunblock
Daisy identity, major book spoilers
>!Since Aunt Elizabeth was the one in the book who exposed Becca's father, I'm thinking that Daisy will end up being Aunt Elizabeth. I know Aunt Elizabeth was a founding Aunt so it doesn't match up 100% but I don't think we've seen her in the show yet and she does eventually side with Aunt Linda.!<
>!This would also give way to potentially Nicole showing much later in the series since she's so much younger than Agnes/Hannah !<

It was a very rainy day today in Philadelphia, but the walkies must persist!
Took my girlie to see the birthplace of the US
She also got to see some Chinese lanterns, jump in a pool and hangout while I enjoyed some coffee
