How does smart access (proximity unlock) work?

(Facelift UL)

My key fob buttons work fine and I can start with keyless start.

However when I walk up to the car with my key in my pocket and put my hand in the handle, it remains locked.

Not sure if there's a way to resolve this or diagnose it?

Ive heard you can program the smart access (ie. choose which doors unlock when you walk up to the car) when you're in the car by holding the lock and trunk button for 5 seconds but nothing seems to happen for me.

Thanks

[Help] rattling/ scraping at idle

My assumption is its a heatshield

I did have 1 inch spacers installed recently to accommodate these SC wheels/tires and the guy was impact gunning the hell out of the spacers (he was on the fourth wheel by the time I caught him smh) so idk if that may play a role

Headlight streaks on newly cleared lights (need help)

I sanded from P320 (probably too rough tbh) through 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, to 2000. I used the TurtleWax lens clarifying compound to buff after that, and then wiped down with the base wipe and sealing wipe.

It has left these streaks after a couple days. I'm not sure if its because these are larger headlights and the single wipe of basecoat and sealand coat each provided did not have enough coating on them, respectively.

*What do I do to fix this?*

*Do you have recommended wipes/ coating that may be better than the TurtleWax?*

Thanks!

Need help fixing headlight streaks. TurtleWax headlight restoration kit sucks...

Is there a way to remove the coating from the wipes and recoat/seal? Do you all have a recommended product for sealing healdights?

Thanks!

Help needed - front bumper trim cracked

2024 Palisade Preferred

Ive managed to pull the black plastic forward a bit so it's somewhat flush. The bottom trim is still hanging loose, however, and there is a black crack line visible in the upper black trim, and the crack in the upper silver bumper is still visible, albeit its flush now.

Anyone know the part number(s) to fix/replace this? Am I better off going to a bodyshop?

Only thing I know for sure is there's no way I'm going to the stealership.

Why did replacing my problem ignition coil not fix my misfire? Lexus LS430

Any insight is appreciated. I'll be as comprehensive as possible.

History:

-Vehicle has ~130k miles. Sparkplugs changed to OE equivalent NGKs at some point (from stock densos) - not under my ownership... but this demonstrates new sparkplugs are not due.

-P0153 Bank 2 Upstream O2 sensor code has come on a few times, maybe 2-3 times in my 1.5 years of ownership. After clearing, it doesn't come back for a while, so I never changed it.

-Filled with 91 or 93 octane (at least throughout my ownership).

Recent history:

-February Trump and Netanyahu do a warcrime on a girls' school; gas prices double where I live. All of my local friends with 3UZ dailies drive on 87 regular, so I decide to try it.

Vehicle runs perfectly fine (ECU adjusts obviously), but feels underpowered (as expected).

-I allowed my sibling to drive my vehicle one night, he noticed a weird jerky idle. He did not notice CEL pop up.

-Next day I start the vehicle. P0153 and P0306 codes (previous code and new cylinder 6 misfire).

I cleared the code and drove around to see what the issue might be. Under load, vehicle is smooth. However, idle was rough... almost as if a slight bump could be felt every once in a while (corresponding with a misfire).

-To further diagnose, I swapped the spark plug and ignition coil from cylinder 6 to cylinder 4. Drove around again. Same rough idle. However code did not re-emerge.

-I did not want to throw parts at it (new set of spark plugs $) or (new set of coils $$), so I had it diagnosed by my mechanic.

-Mechanic confirms *cylinder 4* intermittent misfire now, further isolates that the *ignition coil* is the problem.

Current problem:

-I SWAP the ignition coil in cylinder 4 with a new OE equivalent DENSO coil.

-Drive around for 20 odd miles. Idle is now WORSE... with a feeling of 2-3 cylinders misfiring (i.e. 2-3 "bumps" when idling), rather than just the 1 "bump" felt initially when the misfire code popped up. However still no code, even though I drove in all conditions, including at full throttle.

My mechanic is not available for a while, so I'm asking here. How can I proceed with diagnosis now? The problem could be as simple as going back to 93 Octane fuel to clean (potentially clogged) fuel injectors, or a dozen other issues. I don't want to spend thousands on parts and potential labour (for things I don't feel comfortable doing).

Thank you.

First photo is for engagement. Second photo has the codes I scanned.
